“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. While Lalitha has also helped many women escape the clutches of being forced into sex work, the SPID is focused on rescuing children and giving them a better life.Sadly, many more children need to be rescued and need a loving home. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. Children attending the schools in tribal and hilly areas of Pakur District of Jharkhand do not get enough attention due to the lack of teachers teaching there. They also do not receive enough exposure due to their remote location. 1. UPG Middle School, Chunpara - 60 Students2. UPG High School, Devinagar - 55 Students3. UPG High School, Durgapur - 58 Students4. M.S. Harishchandra School, Pakuriya - 62 Students5. UPG Girls High School, Pakuriya - 65 Students The state government has provided a computer and projector to the school. However, the equipment lies unused due to the unavailability of resource persons who can handle it. This underutilized equipment can be used to catapult schools from this tiny district on to the global map. The setup can be transformed into a digital classroom which will bring online teachers from across the world directly to the school. Your generous contribution can enable the children of the school to connect with volunteer teachers who teach free of cost to support them with the curriculum. 
 LKSK brings the eVidyaloka Digital Classroom Program to the rural and remote parts of Pakur. Under the eVidyaloka model, the twin challenges of the shortage of teachers and poor quality of education is addressed by leveraging the power of technology. Volunteers from a wide range of professional backgrounds will teach English, Math and Science to nearly 300 students of the below schools through regular live and interactive online classes, in the local medium of instruction.Each school requires INR 65,000 to run the program for one academic year. Your donation will be used to manage volunteer teachers on the tech platform, and a digital school operator, along with procuring internet connectivity to sustain the digital classroom.  
 Through eVidyaloka online classes, students from these government high schools will get wider exposure. The program also focuses on the co-scholastic development of students by creating a platform for showcasing their creativity and talent on a national level, thus helping them build their aspirations. A long-term impact of the program is the reduction in school drop-out rates, increased attendance percentage, and reverse enrolment from private to public schools.
