Overview: We are a not-for-profit organisation based out of Bengaluru. Nearly 70% of India’s school-going children are in villages. More than 90% of them do not complete their schooling and end up with low-value jobs when they grow up. Development of life skills and creativity in them during their most impressionable age (5-14years) are habit-forming for life. This lays a strong foundation for them to take to entrepreneurship upon growing up and continue living in villages instead of migrating to towns and cities, creating a superior livelihood for themselves and others.Our focus is life skills to livelihood. What do we do?: We develop life skills and creativity in village children through sports, storytelling, creative activities and experiential learning. Ours is a High Touchpoint Program, where we do these activities on a daily basis in each of the villages, we work in. 60% of our beneficiaries are girl children. Also, 95% of our team members are women and among them, 95% are in the villages. Due to our efficient delivery structure, we were one of the very few organizations to have not only been able to conduct our program even during the pandemic, but also grow our presence 6x since the last 18 months.Our Presence: We are currently present in 163 villages across TN and Karnataka. Context and The Big Problem<ol><li>As per the Ministry of Education, nearly 70% of India’s school-going children are in villages.</li><li>90-95% of the village children do not go to college and drop out before completing schooling.</li><li>Besides inadequate education, village children also lack well-developed life skills like self-esteem, communication, confidence, teaming, empathy, responsibility, values, etc. Due to which they take up low-value jobs as adults.</li><li>The biggest job opportunity for youth in the village is entrepreneurship. Due to a lack of life skills, they are not able to execute well on these opportunities.</li><li>In addition, for girl children, due to lack of life skills like self-esteem, confidence, communication, etc., they easily succumb to their elder's suggestion to drop out or get into early childhood marriages. They are not able to resist early pregnancies for the same reason, endangering their health and also giving birth to malnourished children.</li></ol>
