Save orphaned and abandoned children

The menstrual and reproductive health of women is a very important aspect of women’s development. However, India is lagging behind in this aspect due to the taboo related to menstruation, and the lack of menstrual hygiene management facilities. Millions of girls drop out of school annually due to the shame on the subject and unavailability of menstrual hygiene facilities. 70% of all the reproductive diseases in India are caused by poor menstrual health. Underprivileged women opt for unhygienic materials to absorb their menstrual flow because they cannot afford healthier materials. Many women are not even aware of the importance of using hygienic materials during those cycles. The Covid-19 situation has made things worse for menstruating women. The lockdown badly hit the income sources of many who earned through daily wage labor. This has created a barrier for women to obtain the necessary staff for their menstrual hygiene. The once who had chosen to replace rags with sanitary napkins kit may have to go back to the unhygienic materials they once used. The pandemic has left women with no choice but to sacrifice their health.
A large number of underprivileged people stay in Babu Camp, Sambav Camp, Vimbasti, Viru camp & Sapera Basti near Chatterpur, South Delhi. Through the project ‘Sakha’, Tare Zameen Foundation has been organizing free distribution of sanitary napkins kit for the underprivileged girls and women in these areas since its inception. Along with it, the organization has also been spreading awareness on menstrual hygiene. It has made effort to empower women by encouraging them to talk about menstruation and speak up against the stigma related to it. Since, it is the time of pandemic the organization is not conducting awareness camps as of now. Nevertheless, it is still distributing sanitary kits along with helpful advises for all the underprivileged women in the said areas. The organization needs your support to continue working for the cause.
The project will create awareness among the poor and the downtrodden regarding Menstrual Health and Hygiene by distributing free sanitary napkins kit to those who can’t afford it. The sole purpose of the project is to ensure better menstrual health of the poor women and empower them through awareness on their rights towards basic necessities.“A healthy and happy woman is the key to a joyful and prosperous family”

In 2002, OM started with 20 kids in a small 4 room house in village Morna, Noida, India with a vision to provide Zero Cost Quality Education to the economically disadvantaged, giving preference to Girl Child. 20 years later, Kavita, one of the beneficiaries, is a teacher in OM School. Otherwise, she would have been married somewhere and by now, at an age of 21, 2-3 children of hers were of her major concern in life.Despite the fact that the progress of a family depends largely on the women of the house, girl education is often suppressed. The family puts less emphasis on educating the girl child, and the situation worsens if the girl is from the underprivileged background. As most of the children coming from this background belong to migrant families, it is hard for them to even avail the EWS quota of schools. Most of the girls from underprivileged families become a victim of early marriage because of the family pressure and their inability to resist due to the lack of proper education and knowledge. The pressure of bearing a child at a very young age leads to unhealthy childhood for both mother and the next generation. Education is the only sustainable solution to this problem and since past 18 years, OM Foundation is committed to solve the issue.
OM provide ZERO COST high quality school education to underprivileged children who cannot otherwise afford it. The school take education beyond just literacy and empower the students through a holistic approach. With a healthy 55:45 girl boy ratio, we ensure that the girls in the school are provided with a nurturing, child-friendly environment to learn in a joyful manner.OM Foundation is looking for support to Educate the Girl Children for their Whole Life by providing:

Free and first grade education, nutrition and other supplements.

All modern facility for advanced learning.

Support till the students start earning through supplementary programs for skill development and employability.

Mentoring by corporate volunteers and individuals towards mental growth in the right direction.

Through Education and Skilling, we enable these girls feel self-motivated and earn a respectable life for themselves. Coming to the school will be a starting point for their new life and it is expected that the child will be able to transform themselves into an asset, not only for their families but also for the nation. The added nutritional and healthcare services will ensure the healthier growth of the students.

India is in the midst of a desperate humanitarian crisis and access to life-saving resources is becoming increasingly strained, particularly for the most vulnerable in society. As of April 24, there are 2.6 million active cases in India, and both the public and private healthcare systems are overwhelmed. There is an extreme shortage of oxygen, which has led to numerous fatalities all over Delhi. The city requires oxygen urgently, especially the poorest and most vulnerable do not have access to oxygen concentrators to administer it. Please help us help the most vulnerable in society NOW.
We are sourcing 15 FDA-approved oxygen concentrators internationally with a 10-Litre / 8-Litre capacity for immediate delivery to Delhi and are raising the money to pay for these. We have selected high-flow models that have been used in the Indian environment for 7-12 days continuously. The first few are being delivered by 6th of May, 2021. These concentrators will be deployed at centres like the Pushp Vihar isolation centre run by the “Delhi Langar Seva Society”, where the lives of low-income patients are being saved every day. We are also supporting the patients by providing the life saving medicine like Remdesivir and other critical medicines.Your donations will be routed through “OM Foundation”; which is a registered NGO with a 20 year track-record of helping the underprivileged in India. This is an urgent appeal. Each concentrator can save many lives. The sooner these are deployed, the more people we can save.
Urgently providing quality oxygen concentrators to the most needy COVID-19 patients in New Delhi.Providing high-quality machines that are able to work round the clock to save lives and form long-term infrastructure to support vulnerable patients.

Quality education is needed for the development of a society. The children from underprivileged families can not afford good education due to heavy fee burden of the private schools. As most of the children coming from this background belong to migrant families, it is hard for them to even avail the EWS quota of schools. These families are not even able to provide proper nutrition to the child, thus leading to an unhealthy childhood.Since past 18 years, OM Foundation has been grooming 300 such students every year by giving them best education, maximum opportunities and all round development. The number of such children is increasing with each passing year and OM Foundation is looking for support to increase the beneficiary base.
Analyzing the need of the underprivileged children, OM Foundation started a full fledged school with following features:

Free and first grade education as well as nutrition and other supplements at NO COST.

All modern facility for advanced learning.

Support till the students start earning through supplementary programs for skill development and employability.

Mentoring by corporate volunteers and individuals towards mental growth in the right direction.

Quality education of children from underprivileged background and enabling them to transform lives of his/her sibling(s).

Improving the confidence and learning level of children so that they can compete their counterparts in the best private schools of the city.

Improving the skill sets of students at a much earlier stage so that they get employable by the time of leaving the school.

Reducing mental pressure on children and their families.
