People’s Rural Education Movement (PREM) is a humanitarian, secular, non-political and non-profit making voluntary organization. The organization PREM is working in one of the most difficult regions of the country considering the historical poverty and the terrain of the region in South Odisha. The organization’s four decades of presence in the region and work with the Adivasi, Dalit and Fisher folk community has produced astounding results. PREM’s primary focus since its inception is on education and awareness on several issues like health, hygiene, sanitation, gender rights, local governance and such other areas that mainly aimed at creation of values like social justice, equality, truth, freedom and the dignity of human life. In 1992 it extended its operations to Andhra Pradesh and in 2004 to Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
