Prabhat Alloi Foundation manages a ‘Leprosy Village’ called ‘Nabakusthashram’ located at the outskirts of the village Dabar, Purulia since over 2 decades. Leprosy is a dreaded disease at this part of West Bengal since many years dating back to the pre-independence era. Although, medical science now has advanced treatment for leprosy but that has not been able to do away with the stigma associated with this cruel disease. The infected ones are abandoned by their families and neighbourhood and they have nowhere to go and survive. Prabhat Alloi Foundation takes care of these destitutes and arranges for their shelter, food, regular nursing care of their wounds and every need since over 2 decades. At present, there are 35 inhabitants at Nabakusthashram and all are senior citizens. Prabhat Alloi Foundation providess for their regular nurshing, cooking and food, medical needs and every thing else as and when required. The buildings at which they live are in utter dilapidated condition and some of them may give away any day risking the lives of these poor elders. The havenots at the Nabakusthashram prays for immediate funds required for extensive repairs/ reconstruction of their hutments both at the gents and ladies portions. It is estimated that funds of at least INR 40 lakhs would be required for this purpose.

Elderly Care

Prabhat Alloi Foundation is a registered NGO, located in the village of Dabar, Purulia, West Bengal working in the field of medical relief, education, relief of the poor, upliftment of the local tribal people etc. since mid 2000. On education it maintains a hostel accomodation for boys, arranges for their schooling, tuition, boarding &amp; fooding, medical needs and everything. It also runs a morning school for children of the nearby villages where every morning 60-100 children of all ages come to study. On medical relief, the Foundation runs a charitable medical center on every Sunday for now where an aclaimed homeopathy doctor and nurse attends to 80-100 patients who comes from nearby villages within a radus of about 20-25 kms. The Foundation also take cares of poor elders suffering/cured from the dreaded disease leprosy (presently 35 numbers). They stay in a leprosy village 'Nabakusthashram' which the Foundation has adopted since mid 2000 and providess for their regular nurshing, cooking and food, medical needs and every thing else as and when required. The Foundation also orgnaises computer tuition classes for the village pupil, regular scholistic tuition for them through onine facility where renouned teachers from Kolkata, Bangalore and other parts of the country take free classes every evening. Besides to promote local culture, the Foundation organises Chhau dance, Nachni dance, jhumur and other classes for students apart from organising various cultural programs at its premises on regular basis, besides medical camps etc.. All the above activity undertaken are absolutely free of cost for beneficiaries sourced from donations from generous patrons and well wishers. The Foundation plans to be self sustained over next 2 years i. a. from animal husbandry, fisheries etc. so that it can continue to create more social impact and work towards uplifting and providing livelihood to thousands of poor villagers around the village of Dabar in Purulia which is primarily a tribal habitat.  The Foundation has been registered as a Society under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 in 2010 and is approved u/s. 12A of the Income-tax Act, 1961 and is also eligle for section 80G benefit besides being registered under CSR.
