For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. The absence of established educational and healthcare facilities exacerbates the situation. Employment opportunities are limited to sandstone, silica mines, limited agriculture options. Consequently, impoverished individuals exhaust their resources on basics for good, treatment etc, neglecting their children's education and perpetuating a cycle of misery in the mines.PURE India Trust recognizes that education deprivation is at the core of many social issues. Thus, we offer scholarships, promote girl education, and provide skill training to empower the community. Through personal interactions and community discussions, we encourage parents to prioritize their children's education. Additionally, we've established "Pathashala" centers in various villages providing education to 500+ children and offering educational support, Career counseling, Education support, tuition classes etc. Our efforts have shifted parental mindsets, enabling girls' education in the supported 9 villages. Due to Right to Education (RTE) law, students reaches up to 8th class without any knowledge assessment hence 70% of them can’t read their text books even in class 6 or 7. Many children don’t go for higher studies due to their poor educational foundation & family economic conditions. Also, 69% of girls stop going to school after 5th/8th class in the villages. They are not allowed to go to other villages or town for further studies due to poor financial condition and belief that “Girl will go to other house” why to waste money. Hence 42% girls suffer from “child marriage”. 
 PURE India has decided to provide basic education facilities under “Shiksha Rakshak” program by encouraging privileged people to “Own a Child’s Education”. We are providing following facilities to underprivileged children:Under “Each one Own One” initiative we encourage you to own “one girl child’s higher education” and PURE India trust will use “Open Schooling” for further studies and they would be provided Educational Classes locally in the villages - Educational Encouragement Scholarships - Open School Exam for further study & Tuition Classes in villages - Shiksha Pathashala to strengthen the foundation - Computer Shiksha for Global knowledge - Book Libraries for Learning & development - Support My Education: Uniform, Bag, Shoes, Stationery, Sports kit etc. - Eliminate Child marriage by creating awareness and recognizing parents allowing girls to get relevant education & go to work

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, many families have lost their earning members and struggling for their livelihoods. PURE India Trust has decided to support these households and underprivileged women who lost their husband/father/son due to COVID-19 and now it would be difficult for them to earn their bread and butter. We are helping these women to become Entrepreneurs in their own villages/communities by providing them Seed funding, Skill Training, Business Mentoring, Market linkages, MSME registration &amp; other required support. We have already empowered 300+ marginalized women to become Entrepreneurs in their communities.   We are looking to support 50 Covid Widows by establishing their own businesses so that they are financially independent.
