“We received a distress call saying that a blind girl is being held captive by a woman and is being forced to beg. Our volunteers were able to rescue that girl and bring her to the Blind Welfare Society home for girls. We cared for her and educated her. Today that girl is a senior government official”, says Asha Bhola, President, Blind Welfare Society (BWS) as she recalls how her organisation has been able to transform lives.BWS has been a ray of hope for 40 such blind girls, many of whom have been abandoned by their families owing to their visual impairment. Sadly, the care, shelter and education for blind girls come at a cost, and BWS is unable to keep its work going. According to the nonprofit office bearer, “Many parents neglect their blind daughters and at times even sell them off for begging, etc. Even if the girl is from a well-to-do family, they feel providing education and care to a blind girl is a waste of money”. “What is the fault of an innocent child?”, she asks.Education, the only hope “These girls have no future without education. If they don’t receive education, they will remain uncared for. They will continue to be ignored by not just their families but even by society at large. Whatever I am today is only because of the education I received. But sadly, every blind girl is not as fortunate. “The major problem in society today is the stigma against mentally ill or mentally disabled people. Families feed and care for men who are mentally ill and keep them at home. But no one wants to help women with mental illnesses,” says N Vanitha Rengaraj, chairperson of Sharanalayam.Sharanalaym’s ‘Jothi’ is a sanctuary for over 100 women facing mental challenges. Many women were rehabilitated by the NGO, thanks to its facilities.Sharanalayam needs urgent support to take care of over 100 women. We are an immersive assisted living facility for autistic children and autistic people of all ages. The facility aims to help autistic people find true joy in life. While also teaching them the vocational skill to gain vital knowledge for success in life. Some of the vocational skills and activities we teach include Activities of daily living, academics, sports, fitness, pre-vocational, vocational, art and craft, music, and speech therapy.Radhaka Autism Welfare Society was established in the lap of arrivals spread in the area of miles. We believe in remedial can be done whilst connecting the human mind with the natural surroundings.We are a perfect amalgamation of occupations all therapy, speech therapy, special education, pre-vocational and vocational training, sports, recognition and development of cognitive and communication skills, professionals to support a plethora of activities and the best mentorship and torchbearers to hoist our remedial programs meant for helping and building future of special children. We not only make them self-sufficient but prepare them for self-advocacy, hence making them completely self-dependent.

There has been a drastic increase in the number of children getting diagnosed with neurological disabilities like autism, down syndrome etc.The parents of these children struggle to find learning institutes and therapy centres. At RADHKA we intended to provide all facilities that are required to raise a special needs child with overall physical emotional neurological development. 
 We provide dedicated caregivers to residents of Radhka who are with them 24 x 7 able to understand their needs if they are non communicate like neurotypical humans. They support daily living without any mental trauma. 
 We wish to have 20 to 30% of our residents placed in full-time jobs and self owned business' like a café, grocery store, selling artifacts etc. We wish to create a healthy and safe environment where they can live happily without judgement from the society
