For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. Children are agents of change. By focusing on school children, giving them tools and knowledge to change behaviour today, future generations will be better prepared to care for their families and communities.The present project is specially designed to support 5000 school children including Boys and Girls, especially More girl Children's studying in Government Schools of Prakasam District of Andhra pradesh, India through the establishment of Two sanitary blocks ( One Toilet+ 6 Urinals For Girls and One Toilet+2 urinals for Boys)This project will reduce the incidence of sanitation related diseases by providing effective and sufficient sanitation for all the school children. The project will also improve personal hygiene behaviour of students and teachers and improve the environmental Health sanitation of the school. 
 One of the major problems faced by the school age children is infection by parasites and flukes. This type of sanitation related infections obviously contribute not only to absenteeism in the schools, but also to the more hidden aspect: Poor health of children affects their ability to learn and therefore influences their perspective in life. Good health at school is essential for now and an investment for the future.School sanitation facilities are usually poor (if they exist at all), and are not designed sustainable. Schools with latrines have problems because the latrines are poorly managed and are not particularly valued and are abandoned once pits are full. Cleaning toilets is usually enforced as a form of punishment, which further erodes a child’s sense of the importance of good sanitation. Overall the PROBLEMS can be summarised as follows: •	non-existent or insufficient water supply, sanitation and hand-washing facilities; •	toilets or latrines that are not adapted to the needs of children, in particular girls; •	broken, dirty and unsafe water supply, sanitation and hand-washing facilities; •	children with poor hygiene and hand-washing practices. .Working with Children on basic hygiene and sanitation is very important: •	Most children are eager to learn. Schools can stimulate and support positive behavioural change in children. •	Children have important roles in household chores related to hygiene. •	Children may question existing practices in the household and become agents of change within their families and communities. •	Children are future parents. What they learn at school is likely to be passed on to their children. 
 •	All the 5000 children's and other children likely to be admitted to the High Schools will be utilising these facilities.•	School children are practising good hygiene and sanitary practices and became agents to spread the change in their respective families and communities.•	Environmental sanitary condition in the High Schools are improved.Total Number of Schools is 10.Each School Need Rs.1,32,000/-Total Number of Beneficiaries is 5000 School Children's.

Hygenic Health Education by Providing Toilets.

A total of 420 villages across 40 Mandals were affected in the East and West Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh areas due to incessant rains which started on 31 July and are still continuing. Apart from eight villages being submerged in floodwaters, transportation to 64 villages is cut-off in the East Godavari district. Similarly, in the West Godavari district, transportation to 48 villages is cut-off, while another eight villages are completely surrounded by water. 
 Nearly 88,000 people have been affected in East Godavari district and 26,000 in the West Godavari district. The flood situation in East and West Godavari districts continued to be grim as the Godavari river received heavy inflows in the last 24 hours, necessitating the issue of second-level warning at Arthur Cotton barrage in Dowleswaram and maintenance of high alert in other vulnerable areas.The inflow at Dowleswaram was about 13.44 lakh cusecs at noon and outflow was the same. A total of 280 villages in 24 Mandals across the Godavari districts are affected, and over 75,000 people were affected by the floods.Nearly 18,000 people were shifted to relief camps in East Godavari district, and 47 medical camps were organised in West Godavari District by the government of Andhra Pradesh. 
 About 36,000 food packets were distributed in East Godavari district by the government of Andhra Pradesh. Rajahmundry, Seethanagaram and Devipatnam Mandals were particularly affected by the floods and water entered the low-lying areas in Yanam district of the Union Territory of Puducherry. Transportation to 19 villages has been cut off, and Yedduvagu and Siddharamavagu bridges were submerged, and property damages were reported from 71 villages in the West Godavari districts. Majority of those affected by the floods are from the East Godavari district, around 87,350, while 26,047 people are affected in the West Godavari district. A total of 17,737 homes have been marooned. We need hygienic kits, water purification tablets, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, some repairs for damage houses, etc.

Urgent Help for Heavy Rain Effected Areas of Andhra Pradesh

A project “Vocational Skills to women from economically weaker/backward sections in Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh” was initiated with an objective to empower them and build skills in tailoring and embroidery. 100 women from socially/ economically backward went through a Six month rigorous vocational skills development training in tailoring &amp; embroidery. Importance of these vocational skills for this section is understood and continuation of the project is imperative to ensure self reliance among these women. Precisely, the project focus is to support such poor women who are keen and willing to improve their family conditions by an increased income by undertaking suitable self - employment scheme. RRHEDS has mobilized women to discuss their problems, and felt to propose to receive vocational training in a village trade (VT) of Tailoring and Embroidery. Thus tailoring &amp; embroidery will be promoted as income generating for the women in Village as well as Town Levels. 
 We will do 3 batches for 100 women (30 women in each batch). In addition, a satellite centre (in remote a village) has been planned- on a pilot basis with 10 ladies. Thus a total 100 ladies to be trained in the tailoring and embroidery skills. This vocational training is designed for a period of 3 months for 30 women, where as in a satellite centre for 10 women also for 3 months, to make the target women skilled in the tailoring and embroidery trade, in order to create job opportunities for them and also with a view that they could contribute to the national building program at large.The training will include both in the classrooms in the training centre, and practical work. RRHEDS would be developing learning material and teaching aids which will be used while imparting training. The trainees would also be taken out on exposure visits and they will be taught other skills on how to open their own shops/start working from home etc. RRHEDS will appoint qualified and experienced personnel to impart the required training. Several distinguished organizations/agencies and individuals will also be invited for giving lectures and talks. For training, sewing /embroidery machines /wooden tables and frames, some furniture, raw material etc, which would be procured including training centre. 
 <ul><li>Developed skills of 100 women from the socially/ economically backward and rural communities through vocational skills in tailoring &amp; embroidery.</li><li> The beneficiaries started their own tailoring shop individually or in group and/ or placed with different tailoring shops, for earning their livelihood/ supplement family income and lead a better life</li><li> After completion the training, RRHEDS would be providing hand holding support to trained women, in starting their own tailoring unit individually or in group. Also, to be explored possibilities for placement with different tailoring shops for earning their livelihood/ supplement family income. Also, helping in setting up own units etc with their own resources and also would mobilize and gain access to resources, which hitherto were out of their reach like Govt. schemes, grants, services, banks loans, subsidies etc, to help them become self reliant.</li></ul>
