"My son used to kick me when he was in my womb. Why make an issue when he kicked me in my old age?" reasons a very forgiving Shakti Dasi. The widow travelled 2300 kms from Tripura to Vrindavan after her only son violently beat her with a burning plank of wood and broke her knee one evening. She had to leave behind the business she had built with her husband who had died a few years back. Shakti ended up on the streets of Brindavan begging for food and shelter. But when Winnie Singh of Maitri saw Shakti in a frail state in tattered clothes, she brought her to the shelter home where Shakti gets food, care and medicines. What more, with Maitri’s intervention, Shakti reconciled with her son - and daughter-in-law, and now travels home to Tripura twice a year to spend time with her grandchildren. But she is not leaving Maitri, as this has become her family.Not every elderly widow who comes to Vrindavan after being abandoned by her family gets as lucky as Shakti. Many of them often end up living a lonely life and begging to survive on the streets. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. After visiting the school we realized that there are lot we need to do to make sure road which is kind of approach road to school needs tobe repaired and we need to stop garbage dumping near to school premiese and some time people are throwing garbage infront of school and which is stinking for whole day. We have informed BBMP and working closely with civic authority(BBMP) to get it fixed and we all know this is not one or two day job.We need continuous follow up and regular expense to ask garbage collector to collect the garbage every day so that that area can be keep clean.

Many children drop out of school every year for various reasons and don't complete their minimum primary education. One of the main reasons for this problem is a family-related issue where parents are not able to afford the school fee and other expenditures. This would lead to a child labour situation and parents are sometimes helpless. Children need primary education and parents need skills to survive in this highly competitive world. 
 We along with our volunteers help parents to join our skill for life program and help their kids to get admission to a school or provide assistance to join the school simultaneously. We do this so that they can start &amp; complete their primary education. 
 We want 50 families to get enrolled on our program so that the parents can learn skills and children can complete their primary education simultaneously. We believe that upgrading or learning new skills would help them earn more and live a good life.

Govt primary school was facing challenges in maintaining RO Drinking water system from last 6 month and when our team visited school we took a note of it and school authority explained the issue and requested for either repair or new installation of RO water system because everyday it is not possible to make some arrangement of water for more than 150 children. 
 We understand their concerns and contacted RO water system integrator.They came and did a complete inspection and recommended to replace all major part of RO system.Saarath foundation give utmost importance for health and education and we have repaired the RO water system at Govt Primary School,Cholanayakana Halli,RT Nagar,Bangalore 
 It is a major relief for more than 150 + children and all staff members to avail fresh and clean water.

Road comes under basic necessity's for human and when it comes to our school children then need good road without pothole and after visiting our Govt School at cholanayakana halli we realized that we as a foundation needs to do some thing to change the condition and we decided to work with BBMP to find the sustainable solution for this problem. 
 We have submitted the requirement to repair and build smooth road so that children can come to school without any challenges. 
 Bad road create sanitation related issues and we believe that after road repair or new road most of the sanitation related issue would be rectify.

Govt primary school at cholanayakana halli is facing very severe garbage dumping problem where many elements dump their kitchen and other waste infront of school.Main reason for continues stinking in entire school premises is garbage dumping and sewage water clogging. 
 Saarathi foundation is closely working with BBMP to find sustainable solution for this issue because it is not only garbage dumping but road condition and keeping corner area open some time lead to unwanted garbage dumping. 
 Clean and healthy surrounding always plays a key role in healthy education and innovation. We would like to keep the surrounding clean &amp; fresh and we also want to keep approach road in good condition for which we are working on respective authority.
