"20 workers lose their hands or fingers every day", just in Gurgaon’s manufacturing sector.  Most of them belong to our country’s most vulnerable sections of society:<ul><li>Vulnerable: 90% of these injured workers are migrants, who were especially vulnerable during times of COVID-19</li><li>Precarious: 65% are on contract without certainty of any future income</li><li>Young: 50% are under the age of 30 years</li></ul>If we could help these workers after their injuries and prevent these accidents from happening, we would not only help lakhs of Indian migrant workers, but also help improve India's labor productivity which is currently one of the lowest (135th) in the world. 
 <ol><li>To assist thousands of injured workers to improve their post-accident life with mainly healthcare and compensations. (Already assisted 3200+ injured workers and helped obtain rupees 23+ crore value of compensations from the government- ESIC.)</li><li>To promote safer working conditions in the Indian manufacturing sector, which would also improve India's labor-productivity, one of the lowest in the world (rank 135). Our specific focus is on the auto-sector (90% of workers assisted by us) which employs 1+ crore workers and where most of the crush injuries happen.</li><li>To help improve Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)’s healthcare and compensation processes for 14 crore workers and their families who depend on it. "20 workers lose their hands or fingers every day", just in Gurgaon’s manufacturing sector.  Most of them are from among the country’s most vulnerable that we saw on the roads during Covid19 lockdown:<ul><li>90% migrants of the kind we saw on the roads walking home during Covid19</li><li>65% informally employed</li><li>50% under 30 years</li></ul>Several thousand workers suffer the same fate nationally every year. If we could help these workers after their injuries and prevent these accidents from happening, we would not only help lakhs of Indian migrant workers, but also help improve India's labour productivity, currently one of the lowest (135th) in the world.

The woman I loved and was supposed to marry left me.”Shyam Dev was working in a supplier factory for Hero and Honda when, while operating a power press machine, he got his three right-hand fingers cut off due to a “double stroke” by the faulty machine. After he came to Manesar, Gurugram, to build a future for himself and his family, he got a job in a factory and called his four nephews to work at the same factory too. Sadly, all of them were injured and had their hands and fingers cut off in different accidents at the same factory. Due to these accidents, he’s rendered helpless as now it’s tedious to even do the small tasks of the day like washing himself, cooking, etc. How is he supposed to continue with his life with no money and no fingers? “One shock from a machine changed my whole life,” he says.Safe in India found him during his struggle and fought along with him to get him the insurance and compensation he deserved. He is just one of the 5,000+ injured workers we have assisted to get better ESIC healthcare and/or compensation.

Many of them return to their villages and have lost their fight with the inefficient and unsupportive system. Safe-in-India (SII) focuses on providing free assistance to injured workers in their healthcare and insurance claims from ESIC. Help the workers live a life of dignity. Donate now. When 30-year-old Neetu Devi left her abusive and alcoholic husband to raise her children alone, little did she know the tragedies that lay ahead. Neetu Devi dreamed of a better future for her kids and took a job at a Maruti supplier factory to get her kids into school. A few months later she met with an accident in the factory where she had 3 fingers cut off. Three such accidents happened in the span of the next 1 year. Due to her disability, she couldn't get a job anywhere else and was forced to work in the same factory for her kids' sake. No pension/ compensation was provided to her. A year later her son left school to help the family meet ends. She fought for insurance for more than a year and to no end. Dreams of generations were ruined here, not just her hands.Safe in India found her during her struggle and could finally get her a pension from ESIC after a tireless fight for another year.She is just one of the 4,000+ injured workers to get better healthcare and/or compensation/pension.

Safe-in-India (SII), a section 8 company, is currently focussing on providing free assistance to such injured workers in their healthcare and insurance claims from ESIC.  Giving a second chance at life <ul><li>Last year, we assisted 1,000+ injured workers with their post-accident healthcare and helped them obtain Rs10cr+ compensation value from ESIC.</li><li>This year, we aim to assist 1,200+ injured workers.</li><li>During Covid, we not only distributed about 500,000 adult meals, 25,000+ masks, and 80+ jumbo o2 cylinders and sent 250+ migrant workers home, but also assisted ESIC to improve their Covid pension scheme to distribute Rs80cr+ pension to 50,000+ workers.</li><li>10,000+ workers have already been made aware of their ESIC healthcare and safety entitlements. We aim to increase this figure to 20,000+ in 2021-22.
