For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. But most people walk past them without a second glance. “Like this”, Dr. Bhagat explains, “many elders die on the roads.”Since 2003, SHEOWS (Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society) has rescued over 10,000 elderly people from the streets and given them a home with care and support. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. Sahyog is a non-governmental, non-profit, social service, a voluntary organization registered under The Government of India Society Registration Act 1860. Our work is concentrated in the fields of Education, Health, Environment, and Community Development which we believe are the areas of greatest need and deserve to be the focus of our attention. Sahyog is committed to the empowerment of slum dwellers. It was started in 2002 with the vision to bring smiles to the lives of underprivileged people. Sahyog gives its Sahyog to the community by offering remedial classes and bridge courses to disadvantaged children, providing vocational training and employment to women through a self-sustained project of the manufacturing of low-cost sanitary napkins, educating women through an adult literacy program, running SHGs for women, undertaking projects for the conservation of the environment, organizing health camps, organizing workshops on child sexual abuse, and helping the old and the needy by providing them clothes and ration.Also, Sahyog has constantly been working for the rights, safety, and rehabilitation of children. Sahyog, through their endeavors, has touched and extended his supportive hand to almost 1 Lakh children, 4000 Youth, and 14000 Women. For the last two years, Sahyog has rescued a total of 660 children from child labor and helped to provide approx. 2,43,33,401 compensation to the children from the Department of Child Labour. Also, we are working on the rehabilitation of those children who are rescued from child labor.

Sahyog Care for You, since its inception in 2002, has been a beacon of hope, offering comprehensive support across education, health, and community development. With a focus on empowering slum dwellers and vulnerable communities, Sahyog has extended its support to nearly 1 lakh children, 4,000 youth, and 14,000 women. A significant part of their mission involves rescuing children from child labor, providing them not only immediate care but also a pathway to a dignified life. The visit shed light on Sahyog's meticulous process for identifying and rescuing child laborers. Teams conduct reconnaissance in industrial areas for about six months, a testament to their dedication to ensuring the safety and liberation of children. Following careful planning and coordination with government departments, rescue operations are carried out always prioritizing the immediate and long-term needs of the children involved. Post-rescue, children are taken to shelter homes where they receive counselling, care, and an opportunity to reintegrate into society through education or vocational training. The story of Moinuddin (name changed), a 16-year-old rescued from a slipper factory, highlights the transformative journey from bondage to education. Similar stories of young girls aspiring to start their boutiques after being rescued from factory work underscore the impact of Sahyog's rehabilitation efforts. The lockdown hasn’t been easy for anybody. In this pandemic, which hasn’t spared any class of people, there is one community which has been completely ignored and forgotten by the government, donors and people alike. That’s the community of commercial sex workers and their children. Families of sex workers at GB road have been managing homes without a steady income. 
 We already distributed 26439 sanitation kits including with Soap, Sanitizers etc., provided daily cooked food to 346100 needy children and families and Sex workers in GB Road and other nearby streets and also provided 5727 families through dry ration .we have existence in these localities, our team will distribute soap, mask, hand sanitizer and dry ration in different streets of GB road with an objective to target one to one/door to door to distribute these items along with the information on how to sanitize/wash their hands in association with DLSA and other competitive authorities. The information will also be given to them for spreading awareness on personal hygiene. Number of beneficiaries will be 200 including their kids.We will take care of all necessary steps towards safety of each and everyone during implementation of the project like covering self, keep social distance etc. The project will implement under the guidelines of the Government norms as well as their permission. 
 <ul><li>The 85% of the targeted beneficiaries will be aware about the impact of the life of human being by COVID 19 </li><li>100% would be sensitized on the issue and out of the 80% will follow the hygiene procedure on regular basis</li><li>Beneficiaries will get necessary essential hygienic kit so that they will not die due to this disease. </li><li> 100% will get the one month dry ration facilities for them and their children which can help them to survive .</li><li>78% Decrease number of health problems.</li></ul>

Save Sex workers from Hunger

Enaya is known case of congenital heart defect at Apollo hospital Sarita Vihar under the supervision of Dr Muthu Jothi. She has hole in her heart ( ASD). She is fighting for life in this tender age. Dr has advised open heart surgery for total correction. 
 Father Md Tayyab Khan (Resident of Panchwati UP) is doing some small work and not able to bear the huge cost of surgery.Sahyog care for you stepped in. Organization has assured family to provide all the possible financial support

Child labour &amp; Trafficking is a big Challenge in India, more so in Delhi NCR region. Child labour problem is not unique to India. The factors that contribute to child labour and trafficking include the poverty and illiteracy of a child’s parents, the family’s social and economic circumstances, a lack of awareness about the harmful effects of child labour, lack of access to basic and meaningful quality education and skills training and cultural values of the family and society.   
 ·        Protection of children under various exploitative conditions such as trafficking, child labour, sexual abuse (including commercial sexual abuse) from some industries like PLASTIC BAGS,TOYS,BANGLE MAKING, ZARI,POLISHING,PURSE MAKING·        Rehabilitation of rescued children·        FIR against employers and traffickers·        Strengthening child protection framework at the grassroots through sensitized and empowered communities.Advocacy with local governing bodies of different states (DM ,SDM,LABOUR COMMISSIONERS,CWC AND POLICE) to strengthens the child protection framework 
 Identification of Parents: On the basis of the collected information, our team will be contacting the parents of such rescued children directly or indirectly through child welfare committee and other legal sources.Settling the children at their homes: Post the identification of parents, Sahyog will arrange for the rescued children to meet their parents and settle with them at their homes. The rescued children will also be entitled to compensation on the basis of Release certificate issued to them by concerned department. This all will help the child once to again to live their life in peace and harmony with their parents. Proper admission in school or vocational training centre will be the responsibility of organisation. Correspondence- Proper correspondence on monthly basis with the gram panchayat and effluent person in village for tracking and rehabilitation of child.Impact – 60-70% of children start going to schools or vocational training centers , After skill training getting a good decent job as per their skill to live a respectable life for them and their families.

Rescue & Rehabilitation of Child trafficking  Labour and  Sexual exploitation

Child sexual abuse workshop are organized by Sahyog. Started with the vision to see world free from child sexual abuse, the project aims at conducting workshops in MCD schools and NGOs to empower the stakeholders with preparedness, prevention and intervention skills in order to reduce the cases of child sexual abuse. 
 We have conducted counselling sessions on the issue in 100 schools and NGOs in Rohini Zone in North Delhi Municipal Corporation area in which more than 25000 students got benefitted. We have also conducted Training with the teachers of 400 South MCD zone and in South Zone schools in which more than 1800 teachers have benefitted from the workshops. In the west zone teachers were very enthusiastic with our workshop and also gave many suggestions to improve the quality of the sessions as well as importance of these kind of sessions. Sahyog wants to conduct similar workshop for preparedness among the students in different Govt schools and MCD Schools, to sensitise the wider audiance, the community people regarding sexual abuse. 
 Approx. 25000 will benefit from this, they will know about bad touch and good touch. Parents will know about the problems which are faced by the children. Teachers’ knowledge regarding the POSCO Act will be enhanced and they will be able to cope up with the behaviourial and physical changes among the children
