The proposed project will target 20000 people, especially women (including pregnant and lactating mothers) and children from marginalized and disadvantaged families living below the poverty line. The project will also benefit a large population which will include community people and gatekeepers (husbands, mothers-in-law etc). The women beneficiaries between 18-35 and children, newborns 0 to 6 years of age will be sensitized for institutional deliveries and pre and post-natal care. The beneficiaries who are unable to access public health services will be checked initially, then counselled and linked up to public health services through a referral system. Also children beneficiaries will be provided with medical support and guidance.

Health care experts will train approximately 10 traditional birth attendants (TBA or dai) on basic hygiene and first aid, basic prenatal care, simple delivery procedures, and guidelines for referral for high-risk pregnancies. They will also train local leaders to act as volunteers who will participate in the program implementation. </li></ul>
