Dear Patrons &amp; Donors,Greetings from Samiksha Foundation!We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the vernacular versions of the inspiring book "Who's Afraid of Cancer" by Sanya Pradhan, scheduled for July 12th, 2024. This project is a heartfelt endeavor by Samiksha Foundation to raise awareness about cancer within pediatric oncology wards at hospitals. Our project focuses on translating this powerful work into vernacular languages (Hindi, Kannada, and Marathi) to reach 300 children facing cancer each year. These booklets will be distributed free of cost, providing children and their families with invaluable wisdom and support during their challenging journey.Cancer is a word that instills fear in many, but this book aims to change that perception. It is not just a guide for cancer patients seeking answers but a beacon of hope, illustrating that there is life both during and after cancer. By sharing this book, we hope to spark a conversation that makes us all question: Who's afraid of cancer?To bring this project to fruition, we are looking for sponsorship of INR 500 per book to print, publish, and distribute 300 books every year at the hospitals. Capacity building for Project Expansion and Program Implementation

Knowledge Empowers and Happiness Heals...Our vision and belief is driven by the high success rate of childhood cancer treatment (nearly 78% as per the pediatric oncology cohort). Founded in Bangalore in 2009 by Sandhya Sharad, Samiksha Foundation (SF) provides non-medical support to children with cancer, focusing on Integrated Education of the child during treatment at oncology hospital wards.In an effort to “leave no child behind”, Samiksha’s mission is to enhance formal education of children with cancer, and now expanding the scope of that mission to include other life limiting conditions. SF has done this using a hybrid of hands on and technology enabled remote support. Our focus has been helping the children to return to the right grade in their school post-cancer recovery.Samiksha has awarded 306 scholarships, till January 2022, to support aspiring young cancer survivors with their higher studies.SF has impacted over 8590 children (direct beneficiaries), across 5 Learning Centres from June 2012 until May 2022.
