If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. When our team interacted with the villagers and prepared a list of their most urgent needs, emergency lights were highlighted as the top priority. Villagers explained that during the pitch-dark nights, having light is essential to sense any possible danger in time and remain alert. Emergency Lights Distributed in Kainturi Village | Samoon Foundation Disaster Relief

Osla, which is the last village in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand state is inaccessible by road today. The nearest roadhead in neighbouring Taluka village is a 14-kilometre-long trek away. This lack of connectivity has led to several infrastructural challenges, including the provision of education. To address this issue, the Samoon Foundation has established the Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya (hereinafter referred to as SAV) in Osla. Founded in April 2021, SAV is a Hindi-medium primary school that provides free-of-charge education to approximately 100 students. Under current circumstances, SAV is crucial in ensuring that the educational needs of Osla’s children are not compromised. Currently, the school is being operated in a rental building.Education is foundational to the growth and development of any community. Providing a free-of-cost education to those deprived of basic necessities today will prove valuable for many generations to come. The school is designed to address the educational needs of children in the remote village of Osla, Uttarkashi district. In the remote village of Osla, Uttarkashi district, development has been long neglected, resulting in a lack of basic infrastructure such as schools, roads, and electricity. Children must walk 14-16 kilometers to attend school, posing significant risks, especially for younger children and girls. The future of around 350 children across four villages—Datmir, Gangad, Pawani, and Osla—is uncertain due to this neglect of education.To address this urgent problem, the Samoon Foundation aims to build the Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya, a school that will serve 200 students. The foundation has secured land and received approval from the Education Department to operate grades 1 to 5. Local community members are volunteering to assist with construction, but essential materials like cement and steel are still needed.The ultimate goal is to ensure that present and future generations in Osla can attain education and independence, fostering overall village development. The Samoon Foundation believes education is the key to upliftment and is committed to providing the necessary support for these children to thrive.

Coronavirus has taken the guise of a pandemic like never in India and because of COVID-19 many people dying on a daily basis. With the passing of each day, the scarcity of oxygen and insufficient medical facility to give treatment to the patients in the rural areas of Uttarakhand becomes more glaring and the ones in dire need are not finding sufficient means. Under such conditions, the worst affected are the underprivileged and poor people with little to no means of affording mandatory medical protection items such as oxygen, masks, sanitizers, and life saving sources such as oximeters, oxygen cylinders, and ambulances for their loved ones. To help these people, Samoon Foundation has come forward to provide basic life saving things like oxygen cylinders, oximeters, and coronavirus protection items such as masks, sanitizers. It is the mission of the foundation to help the needy people in and around Uttarakhand, to fight the terrible battle of Coronavirus, a pandemic that is proving to be disastrous day by day.  
 “The Samoon Foundation” is determined to provide the right and timely medical assistance to the underprivileged and to the people who are living in far-flung rural areas of Uttarakhand state with the basic coronavirus protection items such as sanitizers, masks, and life saving items such as oximeters, oxygen cylinders etc. These life saving things are extremely important and will be a great help to the patient and keep them alive. Several volunteers of our foundation across the state will be content to assist in providing the materials to the ones are in desperate need of them. We are very sure that, our timely supply of the above-mentioned virus protection items and life saving sources will help people to recuperate from their illness and protect them from the virus as well. 
 Thus, from the justification found in the aforementioned part, it is clear that the people of Uttarakhand are in a dire need of virus protection item masks, sanitizer, and life saving sources such as oxygen cylinders, oximeters, ambulances, etc. to fight back this pandemic, which is claiming hundreds of lives every day in India. A common and helpless citizen’s inability to afford these items should not hinder their eligibility to avail proper healthcare facilities in this challenging time, because Uttarakhand does not have sufficient basic facilities for healthcare.  “Therefore, Samoon Foundation is determined and well prepared to provide every possible medical assistance to each and every resident of Uttarakhand in this difficult time .
