“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. While Lalitha has also helped many women escape the clutches of being forced into sex work, the SPID is focused on rescuing children and giving them a better life.Sadly, many more children need to be rescued and need a loving home. 1.	A new study has revealed that that air pollution in Delhi is responsible for approximately 10k to 30k annual deaths in the city. This means the capital city loses 80 lives every day to pollution from PM2.5. Leading researchers of the study include Joshua Apte from the University of Texas, Julian Marshall from the University of Minnesota, Michael Brauer from the University of British Columbia and Dr Aaron Cohen from Health Effects Institute. Now, with the recent study, it can be inferred that the number of people who died every hour in Delhi because of air pollution has increased by three times in nearly 20 years. The current study also emphasises that if no action is taken, these numbers could rise by 20 to 30 percent. Outdoor air pollution is the fifth largest killer in India. 2. The Central Ground Water Board told the Supreme Court that the groundwater is depleting 0.5m to 2m per year at different places in the city and could lead to the crisis if not halted. The Supreme Court has come down heavily on the governments for not taking any step to tackle the "serious problem" of groundwater depletion in the national capital. 
 1. Planting 15000 native trees on the identified community land of the Panchayat which is at the top of Aravalli hills, near Manesar Haryana. 2. The area shall be fenced for their protection.3. This model has the following principle:-a) Build – A barren land is identified and taken from a community on lease and then the soil is treatedagainst the deficient micro and macronutrients. Then saplings of the trees are planted on a regular interval and fed them with the required nutrient or disease-fighting medicine on a regular basis.b) Grow – These saplings when once planted are maintained by our team 24x7. They are regularlywatered and manured. We maintain the forest for 5 years.c) Transfer – The mini forest is given back to the community after the trees become self-sufficient andtheir roots are able to fetch the groundwater on their own. The community could use the minor produce from the forest like twigs, leaves, fruit, fodder etc but they can’t cut the trees as per our agreement with them.4. Proper irrigation facility is also required for the trees to flourish in the initial stage. Hence digging ofa borewell and utilising the water in the most efficient way is also part of this project. We will also be building water reservoirs like a pond for collecting the rainwater and hence ultimately recharging the ground water.5. Awareness sessions under Project CARE( Conservation of Aravalli through Education) would also be conducted by us in the nearby schools and villages to make people aware of the environment and its effect on us. 
 By planting 15000 native trees in a barren land on Aravalli hill near Manesar, Haryana, we are expectingthe following outcomes:-1. These trees will act as green lungs for Delhi NCR.2. Aravallis are the water recharge zone of Delhi NCR. Growing trees will help us in recharging thedepleted water table.3. These trees will act as a shield against the dust storms coming from the Thar Desert and hence will reducepollution in the city.4. This will inspire others to take up similar initiatives in the region which is being highly degraded dueto mining activities.5. It will also promote biodiversity in the area and thus increase both fauna and flora.6. It will benefit the community by providing them with fruit and fodder bearing trees.7. Educating the students will help us make our future generation more sensitive towards the environment.

With the increase in global warming, the effect of climate change can be seen in all the regions. However, the effect on developing countries is much more due to the economic conditions of the lower income group. India being an agrarian country is mostly dependent on monsoon and due to climate change the agriculture cycle is facing a turmoil causing a lot of losses to the farmers and pushing them in debts. 
 Sustainability and development when brought together can do wonders, hence we decided to inculcate sustainable and affordable agriculture to these farmers' lives by enabling them in agroforestry. Plantation of fruit species along with the normal routine crops will not only green the area but also help in holding the top soil from erosion and increasing the farmers' income by providing him a more source of livelihood.Agroforestry not only is an attempt to sequester as much carbon as possible using the agriculture lands but also helping farmers mitigate the risk of crop failure by giving them additional source of income. This rural livelihood support model is our effort to green India along with supporting the farmers. 
 A single tree sequester 22kgs of carbon dioxide per year. Not only carbon sequestration but the groundwater recharge of the area is naturally done by trees. The main source of our living i.e. oxygen is only provided by these green creatures whether it be a tree or phytoplankton.Apart from these, the cooling effect provided by them along with many medicinal uses of its NTFP is valuable. Moreover, these high quality grafted saplings will start providing fruits to the farmers in 2-3 years thus increasing his economic and social condition.A single tree can provide :Sequester 1.9 Tonnes of CO2Provide 3.7 Tonnes of O2INR 450/- per season income to the farmers on sale of fruits

Agriculture is an economic activity which has been historically associated with men due to its physically challenging roles and labour. However, did you know that women form the backbone of agriculture and its allied activities? From sowing, to weeding, to growing fruits and vegetables as ancillary activities on the field, and to selling in the market, women are crucial at every step of the way. Despite them forming the backbone, out of the 73.2% women who are involved in agriculture, only 12% own the land they work on and only 8% own their agricultural income. It is the need of the hour to provide women farmers their due by helping them generate additional income and sense of ownership from their lands. 
 SankalpTaru Foundation through its Rural Livelihood Support Program plants fruit-bearing trees on the lands of farmers across 20 states and Union Territories of India. One of its crucial component is the emphasis given to Women Farmers with their own landholdings or who control agricultural activities at their farm as the major point of contact. Through this special campaign on International Women's Day 2021, we aim to plant trees on the lands of only women farmers from the proceeds of the campaign. The plantation of fruit bearing trees are an excellent source of sustainable income and high returns for the women farmers with minimum upkeep. Top quality of fruit bearing saplings with a reduced maturity time will be provided to ensure that women farmers are able to reap harvest from their trees in a shorter amount of time. 
 The impact of the campaign will be tenfolds as an empowered woman empowers her family and her community. Fruit-bearing trees provide the women farmers with the power to not only get financially independent but also venture into the food-processing industry from the fruits they produce in the coming years. The stable and increased income will make them eligible for institutional credit, and inspire other women farmers in the area, creating a chain reaction. In 2019-2020 alone, SankalpTaru Foundation has planted trees on the lands of 15,000 women farmer beneficiaries and has helped its previous beneficiaries sell tonnes of fruits ranging from Pomegranate, Lemon, Guava, Orange, Custard Apple, Lemon, Arecanut in the market. Through the campaign, we wish to add thousands of more trees on the farms of women farmers and help get them their due credit in Agriculture.
