Students from urban slums do not have the conducive atmosphere to study. We are running 70 Community Learning Centers in urban slums of Pune &amp; Mumbai City. 
 Samutkarsha is overall development of children by establishing and running a center called as CLC in the seva wasti. Seva Sahayog Foundation, at each CLC is engaged in providing long-term benefits such as education, health, cleanliness and self-dependence. Boys and girls gather at the CLC after their routine school. Apart from school curriculum, other subjects like general knowledge and personality development are taught to these students. We have observed that this generates positive attitude as well as increased self-confidence among participants. This activity has substantially reduced school dropouts.

Adolescent girls are facing so many problems like lack of self-awareness, gender discrimination, dropping from school due to distance, absence of female teachers, early assumption of domestic responsibilities, physical and sexual insecurity, early marriage, malnutrition etc.  
 Seva sahayog identified these problems and started ‘Kishori Vikas Prakalp and started to inform these girls about some issues like ‘good touch and bad touch’, hygiene, provide academic help etc.KVP provides information about personality development and provides career counselling. We conduct a program in three levels – one session per week. KVP runs 54 centres in Pune and 27 centres in Mumbai impacting 900 and 489 girls resp. 
 Girls are enjoying and participating actively these sessions. They started school once again. Now girls are giving enough time for studies.

Humanitarians is a volunteer group of school classmates, now retired, who have come together for social causes to support Education, Women Empowerment etc.Our focus is on improving the school toilet conditions in rural Maharashtra- especially for female students. Starting in 2022,we have successfully completed five projects so far of providing new toilet blocks. A total of 482 students are the beneficiaries of these projects, ably supported by The Seva Sahayog Foundation and Danfoss Systems Ltd. We have a project in the pipeline of providing new toilet blocks to four Jilha Parishad schools in Bhor taluka, benefiting 766 students. This project is partially funded by the Jilha Parishad with able support from the Seva Sahayog Foundation. The work will start in January.We have identified five more Jilha Parishad schools in the Bhor taluka that are in urgent need of good toilet facilities. The existing toilets will undergo major repairs and/or complete renovations. A total of 670 students will be benefiting with this project,targeted for completion in 2024.The estimated expenses are Rs 17 lakhs. We intend to raise these funds with our own contributions, CSR funding, and donations from our well wishers. As usual, we will be supported by the Seva Sahayog Foundation in this project.We appeal to you to extend your help for this noble cause.

Menstruation is a commonly seen natural problem in each house, but never talked openly due to lack of knowledge or some kind of awkwardness. In under developed communities or in vastis women even don’t get sanitary pads properly. They don’t know how to dispose the things etc. 
 To overcome this problem Seva Sahayog started a project URMI, which tried to provide a proper information and been a source to women and young girls. Through this programme we arranged different workshops in schools and under privileged communities for girls and women. URMI also provides sanitary pads and reusable cloth pads at very affordable price. Since 2018 Project Urmi has provided more than 2,63,500 sanitary napkins to around 11000 women and girls, through 113+ awareness sessions all over Pune. URMI also takes workshop on how to make Red-Dot Bags to avoid improper disposal of pads. 
 URMI has impacted the lives of thousands of women, and would like to spread its reach all over Maharashtra. Now all the women try to maintain their surroundings clean and healthy.

URMI – ALL ABOUT MENSTRUATION

India is a fastest growing economy. And youngsters are getting opportunities in different industries from manufacturing, software, service industries etc. To grab these opportunities there is a need of key factor “Education”. But still many youngsters from rural area or underprivileged communities are unable to afford education as it is much expensive or out of reach. Some parents are unaware of the importance of education. 
 There are many students from this community who have fervency towards education. To support these students Seva Sahayog Foundation started a project named as” Shiksha Sahayog”. The main aim of this project is to support students from financially weaker section of society. We assess the student and provide them funds for their course. We guide the students under this program in choosing the correct course. 
 By taking advantage of this program students can pay their fees. There are so many students who took advantage of this program and completed their graduation, post-   graduation and vocational courses as well and became self-sufficient, to suport their families. Near about 500+ students took the advantage of this program.

SHIKSHA SAHAYOG PROGRAM - SUPPORT A CHILD FOR GOOD EDUCATION FROM UNDERPRIVILEGED COMMUNITIES BY SPONSORING FOR EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL OR SUPPORT THEM FINANCIALLY

Differently Abled

Special children have different problems. They are dependent on other peoples. They need special care and attention of their parents. Due to lack of awareness of the disease, people misbehaves with these children. Also they cannot afford the needed therapy. Sometimes accessibility to these rehabilitation centre is not that much easy. Due to the view of the people towards these children, admission in the schools is not that much easy. 
 So Seva Sahayog thought to take care of these children. Basically we treat the children of age group 0 – 12 yrs. We studied about the disabilities of the special children. We focus on the disabilities like cerebral palsy, down syndrome etc. First we started home visits and treated the children by giving physiotherapy. But taking into consideration the need of the people we thought to start community based rehabilitation centre where we can treat these disabled children properly. Initially physiotherapy was given to the needy kids, but over a period need was identified for speech and special education. So we have started providing other therapies as well.Stages for the treatment of these children are – 1) Identification 2) Intervention3) Therapy 4) Special EducationThese centres along with therapy works on holistic development of the family as a whole and tries to provide whatever support is required. 
 From the different surveys early identification and early intervention of the child is possible.Due to awareness and early intervention there is a decrease in disability at the community level.

Chetana – Giving urja to all special children and support them in standing on their own.

Students from urban slums want to study but do not have resources to help them. This discourages them from going to school or pursuing academics. 
 This is where the idea of school-kit was borne. As part of school-kit program, A school bag comprising of basic stationary, notebooks, compass box/ colour pencils etc. is provided to school going students from std 1st to 10th , from the urban, semi-urban and rural areas in and around Pune and parts of Maharashtra.  
 Reduced drop-out rates, increased interest in pursuing academics

School Kit – A motivation to a child for a school

Now a days, we find total digitalization all over the world. But there are so many schools not having proper computer lab. Schools don’t have good computer operator. Teachers are teaching computers with the help of black-board, pictures, drawings etc. Still schools cannot afford to set the computer lab. 
 Seva Sahayog determined all these problems with the help of different surveys and started “Sankalp Digital Maharashtra”. Through this program we support schools situated at remote location of Maharashtra to set up computer lab. We collect the discarded laptops from different companies. We refurbish and distribute the same laptops to the beneficiary schools to set the computer lab. We started some programs which are beneficial to the students and some programs which are beneficial to the community around. We implemented this program in 3 phases. In phase 1- we support 60% schools from Pune city + PCMC &amp; 40% from rest of MaharashtraIn phase 2 – we support 60% schools from Pune dist. &amp; 40%from rest of MaharashtraIn phase 3 – we support schools 100% from rest of Maharashtra 
 Due to this program the educational and digital literacy gap between under-privileged and privileged community will get reduced. Due to this program real picture of remote and urban schools will get highlighted.

Organizational profileSeva Sahayog Foundation is registered under section 8 (old section 25 B) of the company act.We started with the first project which was a school kit and then added many other projects, all of which are ongoing.People from various sections of society do have a desire to “give back to society” even though they are occupied with usual assignments and chores of life. Through Seva Sahayog Foundation, these people are sharing their best to social service/cause. A large bank of such socially conscious people has been single most achievement and strength of Seva Sahayog Founation.Since 13 years Seva Sahayog Foundation is working on connecting various companies, organizations and people with needy sections of our society, mainly from areas in and around Pune and Mumbai. Our core activities are education, woman empowerment, health and environment. These include providing conducive environment at CLCs to children, education of adolescent girl child, skill-development for youths and self-sustainable empowerment of women from seva wastis/communities. Therefore, our projects are exclusively linked with seva wastis.Recently, we have added some projects to further up-bring our seva wasti residents.
