Adolescence is a beautiful period of life and generally a healthy one. But this is also a period when a person is most vulnerable; the overall growth and development and also the physical, reproductive and psychological changes expose the adolescents to many health risks. One of the most common health concerns among adolescent’s girls in our country is under nutrition and anemia. Morbidity and mortality occurring in this age group is mostly due to preventable causes.Teenage pregnancies may adversely affect the health of the women. Menstruation is a phenomenon unique to all females. The first menstruation is often horrifying and traumatic to adolescent girls because it usually occurs without her knowing about it. it is linked with several misconceptions and practices which sometimes result into adverse health outcomes.  Menstruation is generally considered as unclean in the Indian Society.  Lack of accurate information, absence of proper guidance, parent’s ignorance, lack of skills and insufficient services from health care delivery system are the major barriers. But the adolescents are the future of the nation, forming a major demographic and economic force. Millions of girls drop out of school annually due to the shame on the subject and unavailability of menstrual hygiene management facilities in our country. The lockdown situation has badly hit the income sources of many people who earned through daily wage labor. This has created a barrier for adolescents to obtain necessary napkins for their menstrual hygiene. They are being forced to use the old method. 
 <ol><li>Each and every girl should be aware about menstruation which is an important event at the threshold of adolescence and ideally a mother should be the main informant at this tender age.</li><li>Health education including sex education should be accessible to all adolescents. They also should be aware of dangers of risky sexual behaviors. </li><li>Providing a safe environment, educating them and protecting them is one of the most important responsibilities towards them.</li></ol>·     4. Psychological support and counseling can overcome the problems of emotional disturbances, depression, anxiety and eating disorders. ·     5. Maintenance of good hygiene especially during menstruation is important. ·   6. Careful and unobtrusive attention to each aspect of health at this stage will help adolescents grow into healthy and responsible adults.·    7. Poverty, high cost of disposable sanitary pads and to some extent ignorance dissuaded the study population from using the menstrual absorbents available in the market. Realizing the above problems, the organization plans to do the following-<ol><li>Awareness programs for two days with 60 adolescents. Five awareness programs will be held.</li><li>One counselling centre will be established for one year for counselling the mothers and adolescents. One trained counsellor will be appointed for this.</li><li>Two health workers will be appointed for door to door visit for creating awareness among the poor and disadvantaged mothers and adolescents.</li><li>Sanitary pads will be supplied among the poor adolescents during door to door visit, training period and counselling centre.</li></ol> 
 <ol><li>300 school girls will be directly aware and they will take prominent role as Social Animators in the society.</li><li> Participation of girls and women  in social development activities will be increased.</li><li>6000 girls and mothers will be directly motivated through door to door counseling and from counselling centre.</li><li>Positive thinking will be developed among adolescents about malnutrition, anemia, reproductive health, physical and psychological changes, maintenance of good hygiene etc.</li><li>Each women and girls will be able to resist the violence and diseases against them.</li><li>12000 packets of napkins will be distributed among the poor adolescents free of cost.</li><li>Women will be organized and will get back confidence to raise their voice against exploitation.                                                                            </li></ol>

Creating awareness about menstrual hygiene  and Health education of the coastal poor adolescent girls.

The project area is isolated and coastal zone.. The geographical area of Pathar Pratima block in the South 24 Parganas district is 484.88 sq kilometer. As per 2011 census report, the population of the block is 331823 of which male and female is 169422 and 162401. Less than 50% of the total geographical area is available for agricultural purposes with very low cropping intensity. There is no irrigation facilities and such rotation of crop is unknown. Agriculture and fishing from rivers are the main occupations of the inhabitants. Lack of access to decision making process, economic independence, education, poor health, equal wage for equal work are the few major issues for the poor girls and women.The women though the main household workforce but never considered as important contributor in the society. Even after the 70 years of independence women are still dependent either on father or brother or husband or at the old age on son. Married women are being abused by their husband and family members. The prevalence of liquor among men and women are the biggest hurdles. Violence against Poor women and girls has become a prominent topic of discussion in this area. Child marriage is prevailing. Absolute unemployment amongst the women folk indicates about a male dominated society. The poor girls and women have no ability to learn computer education by paying the cash amount. There is no any arrangements for them from Govt. concerned.  
 Computers are a gift of science to mankind. Even now in our day to day lives, computers have been allotted an integral role to play This can be seen being used not only at the offices or at homes, but in all kinds of sectors and businesses. They are used at airports, restaurants, railway stations, banks, etc. gradually, as computers are penetrating through the modern society. Computers are also used in conducting ticket transactions, records maintenance, insurance, shopping, etc. In modern world everything around us like GPs, ATM machines, Cell phones, petrol pumps, portable play stations and all other modern devices use computer controlling units to conduct their featured operations. Today people can drive computerized cars and work for employers from other countries without even seeing them. Computers are very capable of bringing alone a medical revolution. Computers also help the media and the entertainment industry.The project offers new opportunities for women and young girls to become computer literate. So, the strategy is to establish a training centre for one year with 20 nos. of girls and women. After training the trainees will be self- employed. Knowing how to properly use a computer and navigate the digital terrain will help the women and girls to keep life organized and streamlined. The training will improve the functional ability of poor girls and women and also motivate the younger generation regarding digital India. It will improve confidence in technology use and emancipate their status from “hewers of wood and drawers of water” to more honorable position in the society. 
 Women and girls are often disenfranchised in the communities and may feel they have little voice. Since computers are an important aspect of youth culture, they may offer solutions to increasing women and girls participation in communities. Despite some barriers, most women and girls perceived that using computers and the internet reduced their anxiety, concerning communication with adults, raised their perception of their social status, increased participation within community, increased efficiency and improved their access to resources. Overall, youths perceived computers and the internet to be empowering tools and they should be encouraged to use such technology to support them in community initiative.The propose project is socially acceptable, economically viable and environmentally sustainable. The trained women and girls after completion of their course will get ample opportunities to consume themselves in the established departments such as IT Companies, Consultancy companies, Instructional designer, Govt. offices, Private companies, Health related institutions, business organizations, colleges and Universities, Websites, Computer trainer, etc. or can establish at their own arrangements. It will be recognized as an income generation project in the society as well as women empowerment will come in this way. Participation of women in decision making will be ensured and rights of survival will be increased among them. Annual income will be increased and standard of living of the participants will be developed.

Training on Skill Development and Computer Education for poor girls and women in remote area.

The target area is located in the Sundarbans in India of which every island has been crisscrossed by rivers. It is the largest delta in the world and at the mouth of Bay of Bengal. Recently, the area has been seriously affected by the cyclonic storm YAAS/AMPHAN. Many houses have been destroyed and the agricultural field totally been damaged by overflowing saline water. The population of the area is fully dependable on agriculture, wood cutting, fishing, etc. There is no scope of regular jobs of the job seekers. The area is now seriously affected by pandemic COVID-19.The female education rate is lower than male persons in the area. The girls are always mentally tortured by various ways. During the lock down period the education of the girl students who have passed the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary recently is on the way to be closed. Their family are affected by YAAS/AMPHAN and COVID-19. At present the families can not afford to pay for education of their daughters. 
 The educational team of our organization contacted with the parents of the poor meritorious girl students and motivated them. we are always working on motivation and we promised them a little help with their studies. The donated amount will be given to 50 nos. of girl students who have passed the Madhyamik securing 65% and Higher secondary securing 70% above marks. Rs 10000.00 will be distributed each girl for purchase of books, dress, educational materials and other educational purposes.
