Thousands of innocent cows are left on the street without a home. Many of them are just aged, injured, or abandoned. Many of these fall in the hands of butchers. These cows when abandoned roam freely on streets which is one of the causes of accidents and ultimately deaths. These cows are docile creatures who do not harm anyone at all. However, once they grow old, their owners disown them because they are of no use to them. According to the Livestock Census, 2019, India is home to more than 19.34 million stray cattle. These cows give milk all its life but when they grow old, they have to struggle a lot for survival which is very insane and bad.
For millions of stray cattle and innocent cows, Gaushala is a place which they can call home. Shri Krishnayan Desi Gaushala is a home to more than 18000 destitute cows and cattle which all are living a happy and peaceful life. Many of these cows have been brought to Gaushala from horrible times. Some of them were disabled or deeply injured even fighting for their life. We not only give these cows a second home but also a second chance of a happy life. Most of these cows in the Gaushala are milk barren but they are looked after very well with utmost care. They are fed with a mixture of fodder that includes Wheat, Green Grass, Dried Grass, and Jaggery. They are given plenty of water and have acres of land to move around. They are also looked after by an expert team of doctors in the Gaushala and are treated with quality medicines. Amid these difficult times, Shri Krishnayan Gaushala is feeding and taking care of these precious animals. We urge people to come forward to donate towards this noble cause so that these native Indian (Desi) cows can live a peaceful and happy life.
Not only these cows are saved and sheltered but it helps us in the following ways:

Native Indigenous cows are saved and protected

Promotion and development of a high-quality breed of desi cows

Organic farming will be promoted by using gobar and gaumutra as manure and pesticides.

Environment will be protected and conserved

Research and development in cow therapy

Awareness will be spread about the usefulness of desi cows

Skill development & training to people on organic farming, dairy and on being self – reliant through cow economy.

Many injured street animals are euthanized every year in Bangalore city due to a lack of space or resources. We at Sarvoham would like to provide a second chance at happiness to injured/ paralyzed or disabled street dogs who can't survive by themselves, such as dogs who have met with accidents and dogs whose leg(s) are amputated, enucleated, blind, old dogs etc. These kinds of dogs who have a chance of survival are forced to euthanize, however, the animal fights for its life until its last breath, these kinds of dogs who are independent just need a little space, food, shelter and medical care. Every day Sarvoham receives 20-30 rescue calls, but due to limited medical care, we are only able to help and rescue 2-3 dogs in a day. To take in more such dogs who need medical attention, we need to purchase more medicines and increase our manpower to provide medical care and currently, we are not in a state to admit more dogs.
Sarvoham would like to extend its medical care unit by providing medical care and basic infrastructure for these dogs to live happy life and to be treated. Most of the dogs who come into our shelter are accident cases, maggot wounds, and treatable and irreparable injuries. The dogs who get better with our medical care, are put back in their territory from where the dog was initially picked up by our ambulance.
With the help of Grants from Amazon, we would be able to create a direct impact on more than 300 injured street dogs and provide a second chance at happiness. Few of the dogs who come into our shelter with irreparable injuries or paralyzed dogs will be permanent residents of our shelter for the rest of their lives.

There are several misconceptions about reptiles because of which there is a prevalent negative attitude towards this group of animals. There is a lack of even basic understanding of reptiles. This misunderstanding manifests in several ways. For example, even harmless non-venomous are killed because of misplaced fear. In addition, we lose about 50, 000 human lives to snakebites because people are unaware of how to avoid snakebites and the appropriate treatment for snakebite. Both humans as well as animals are the eventual losers simply because of lack of awareness. Lastly, with dwindling populations of reptiles, it is important to have a ‘bank’ of genetic resources so that species can be reintroduced into the wild.
At the Croc Bank, we get a captive audience of about 5 lakh visitors annually. This gives us an excellent opportunity to educate people on reptiles and how to live with them. We have 15 of the 23 species of crocodiles in the world. We also have charismatic species such as the Komodo Dragon. While charismatic species draws in people, the excellent information available on other species keep the visitors engaged. We also host talks and programs which extensively talk about how to avoid snakebite and the proper treatment. We also breed endangered species so that society has the option of releasing these animals in the wild when the situation suits them.
Historically, we have had phenomenal success in the conservation of Gharial, Muggers and Saltwater Crocodile. Populations of these three species have bounced back from the brink of extinction. We also have successfully bred critical endangered species such as Batagur baska and Batagur kachuga. Through our reptile education program we aim to build an educated community that is aware on how to exist with animals. This will not only help reptiles but also reduce the number of human deaths because of conflicts with animals.
