Access to health services becomes more difficult in tribal areas as the roads are poor or nonexistent. There is a lack of public/private transport and ambulance services and, additionally, the telephone network does not reach many areas reliably. Language/social barriers and the lack of access to money etc.To start with we focus on the following:<ol><li>Cataract surgeries</li><li>Diabetic</li></ol> 
 We have identified 2200 tribal as well as most marginalized elderly who are suffering from cataract for years. We are organizing weekly eye surgery camps with 5 ophthalmologists in Kathikund, Dumka and Nala, Jamtara. We have started surgeries but our funds won't last more, we can serve up to 300 patients. One surgery costs us around 4200 INR around 60 USD. 
 We will be able to bring lights in the eyes of these thousands of people who have already lost their hope of seeing again. It will give them vision, new energy in their life.

Supporting students coming from economically marginalized section of society&amp; studying at different public school in Patna. Disparity in access to a structured and a high quality, well-rounded educational system is one of the major hindrances that India as a country faces. Bihar in particular, has lagged in education outcomes for years. Numerous issues like lack of awareness, clarity regarding the 12(1)(c)[1] implementation, public-private sector loggerheads etc. have only worsened the scenario of access to education in the state.To improve the present situation, Sanmat conducted a massive 100 day enrolment drive in Patna district starting January 2018. The city for the first time witnessed a campaign of such rigor focused on clause 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act with few milestones achieved viz. a) approx. 20000 application forms collected, b) a cohort of more than 150 volunteers mobilized from various academic institutions of the state, c) formation of RTE Alliance - a network of more than 100 small youth lead organizations, d) collaboration and advocacy with policy makers (Road and transport Minister-GoB, Mayor-Patna City, ward councilors), relevant government departments/district level officials (District Magistrate, DEO, BEOs, CDPOs, AWWs etc.), academic institutions (AN Sinha Institute, CIMP, IIBM, Patna university), the association of the private schools and print and electronic media houses, e) a number of meetings organized by the district magistrate with principals/directors of more than 150 private schools and BEOs to strictly ensure implementation of the clause.As a result of the efforts briefed above, a total of 6500 children got enrolled into the private schools of Patna district itself, as against the state total of just 1400 enrolled last year under the said clause. The next immediate challenge is to keep up the retention rate of these kids.   [1] Clause 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act mandates all private unaided schools in the country to reserve 25% of their entry level class seats for students from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantage groups (DG) and to provide free and compulsory education till class VIII. 
 The Post Enrolment Plan A majority of school children in the slums of Patna come from homes where the parents are illiterate. Working in informal jobs, such as construction and domestic works, street vending and the likes, children from these homes rarely go on to complete primary education and often fail to continue their school even after getting admitted under RTE Act. This leads to their dropping out of the education system and one of the main reasons is their difficulty in coping with the curriculum. Children coming from families with lower socio-economic &amp; educational background often find it difficult to understand what is taught in the schools. Some parents send their children to tuition classes while some cannot afford to do so. When the child repeatedly fails in examinations, the parents pull out the child from school assuming them to have low intellectual capacity. In some cases academically sound children have poor study habits due to peer group influence, while others drop out or miss school due to the migratory nature of their parent’s work. Lacking parental guidance, these children often end up doing the same insecure work that their parents do, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. To address these issues Sanmat proposes to establish tuition centres which would aim at providing an opportunity to bridge the gap and develop a habit of regular studies amongst the children. Having served in the domain of education for several years, we propose to establish 70 after school tuition centres which will accommodate more than 6500 children. Sanmat has monitored and run mobile schools for school dropouts in past as well and currently 5 such centres in 5 slums continue to run with 150 kids. Since the number at present has risen to approx. 6500, no less than 70 tuition centres would serve the purpose. Kids aged between 3-7 years will be supported through a two hour engagement after school, 5 days a week. The centers will perform following functions: a)      Help the kids complete their homework assigned by the respective schoolsb)     Orient the kids on basic life skill components - negotiation, communication, stress management etc.c)      Collect and address grievances of children or their parents d)     Act as a vital link between schools, kids and their families in keeping the children in the education system, enabling them to transform their future. These centers will be located within the respective slums and teachers will be mapped from nearby private schools. Interested senior citizens and self-motivated youth too will be considered for helping out the children. All the recruits/teachers/volunteers will be trained on pedagogy and others by organizations like Pratham on a regular basis.   Our campaign have been supported by District Administration of Patna, District education Office, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan office team, Magic Bus, Pratham, Indus Action, RTE Alliance Bihar, TRY and 60 other youth lead CBOs/NGOs and Civil Society organizations.  
 With the aim of ensuring academic and social integration of children from socio-economically disadvantaged communities in unaided private schools. While immediate support to Enrolment of children is the key objective of this initiative. In the long run, this project aimed to create wider acceptance, among all stakeholders et. the schools, local community, Parents, Children and policymakers/Govt. in holistic systematic manner. It would require sustained efforts on the part of school management, principals, teachers and parents, government, Civil society organizations, volunteers, community seniors to ensure that integrative and inclusive approach becomes a part of routine discourse within our schools. <ol><li>Ensuring academic inclusion of students and parents of economically weaker sections;</li><li>Increasing social inclusion of children;</li><li>Developing a compendium of best practices that can be used to advocate among various stakeholders;</li><li>Impact Assessment of the project to continuously assess the approach.</li><li>Connecting local community with school Teachers</li><li>Bringing examples from community</li><li>Rapport building between existing students and prospective students</li><li>Post admission/enrolment home work support centre</li></ol>

To fight against covid in rural area of Jharkhand specially in Dumka and Jamtara, Jharkhand. in this region there is no hospital to tackle covid patients. We do run first referral unit of 50 -50 beds in Dumka and Jamtara. 
 setting up 50 bed hospital for covid-19 patients in tribal area of Jharkhand by converting existing meso kalyan hospital run by Sanmat into covid care hospitals.Kalyan Hospitals shall be those dedicated hospitals that cater to severe or critical COVID patient. Emergency wings of concerned departments shall function and ensure that there is no contact or mixing of COVID and Non-COVID (general) patients in these hospitals. COVID suspects or COVID confirmed patients with other emergencies like trauma, acute abdomen, obstetric emergencies shall be managed with full transmission-based precautions and infection control practices in consultation with the COVID cell in the hospital. They need covid specific equipments for the same, it includes oxygen concentrators, ICU/Oxygen beds, CT Scanner, Xray, Nebulisers and GenSet.

Covid Vaccination drive for tribal communities in Jharkhand,As Jharkhand is lagging behind in vaccination and tribal community is not accepting it whole heartedly due to many factors like reaching vaccination centre and following1.     Rumors of post vaccination death 2.     Infertility rumor related to vaccine 3.     Commutation 4.     Advises of campaign by non medical professionals (known Doctors are believed in community) 5.     Vaccine wastage ( Due to low turnout of people)6.     No follow up for support after  vaccination 7.     No incentive ( Food/ Medicines) to people after vaccination ( meal is biggest motivation as of now for tribal communities)8.      Commutation for elderly, Specially abled , Pregnant and lactating mothers ( Zero income group)9.     Vaccination at trusted hospitals of  tribal communities  
 Door to Door campaign through community outreach and vaccination of tribal communities special focus on elderly, pregnant and lactating mother. We are going to community with teams which includes doctors, nurses, phlebotomist and pharmacist. We are providing food packets and medicine for vaccinated people. 
 We will vaccinate 100000 people in Santhal Pergana. We have already vaccinated 14000 people in Dumka and Jamtara.

Differently Abled

Born in a remote village of Fatehpur in Meerut (UP), Julie, a 14-year-old girl, has survived hardships that are unimaginable to most children her age. She was acid attacked at her home eleven years ago by her father, Manish, who wanted to throw acid at her mother in a fit of jealous rage when she remarried. Julie, however, was splashed by a significant amount of acid, who was asleep next to her mother. She suffered a severe 40% burn on her face, arm, neck and chest, affecting the majority of her upper body. After the attack, her body suffered significant deformities from improper medical care; as a result, she was unable to move her head due to contracted skin around her neck.<img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/feeb9565-1d06-4680-993d-593ef4230710.webp" width="588" />As she had to undergo several surgeries, going to school became impossible for Julie. She hasn't had the same education experience as others her age. The educational institutions are unequipped to intake disabled students like Julie. With no family support and a conflicted upbringing, Julie is now on her own and seeks rehabilitation not just to reintegrate herself in the society but to become self-reliant in her adulthood. We believe that Julie has every right to THRIVE! 
 In 2016, Chhanv reached out to Julie and facilitated specialized treatments at PGI in Lucknow and Apollo in New Delhi, where doctors operated on the skin contracted around her neck. In 2018, another surgery took place and finally Julie was able to walk and breathe properly. <img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/83e2ab3b-df59-48ec-962a-b319d85e6397.png" width="428" />In 2020, Julie was permanently shifted to Chhanv’s rehabilitation facility in Noida to execute a customized rehabilitation plan considering her young age and deep burns. She still requires important reconstructive surgeries to heal her left eye and face along with progressive ranging and strengthening, psychological counselling, postoperative therapy and scar management. For Julie’s education, it would be difficult for her to enroll in any school because she needs to acquire the fundamentals as she must begin her education from scratch. We plan to do it in two steps:  <ul><li>STEP 1: To catch up on the fundamentals, she will require a special needs tutor, who will understand her unique learning needs and help her feel more comfortable about her learning methods. </li><li>STEP 2: We intend to enrol her in a recognized educational institution in accordance with her grade requirements after she is nourished to participate with her peers in a regular classroom. </li></ul><img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/bb57124f-087e-4d40-8f38-ab704ae0afe3.jpeg" width="1058" /> 
 With this fundraiser we will be critically investing in Julie’s safe, healthy and productive transition from a childhood exposed to acid violence to a well-placed adulthood, as she builds a better future for herself with your support. Julie may serve as a landmark case of adolescent acid attack disability under RPWD Act, 2016 for bringing about structural and behavioral improvements in schools that would make them more inclusive than ever before with your help.With the amount proposed for her regular living expenses, we would be able to provide Julie with all the necessary things a growing adolescent requires for growth &amp; development and a promising future irrespective of the ordeal imposed by the acid attack on her. <img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/0216389c-3b14-452b-8e75-81afd0261d02.jpeg" />
