Every day, as the sun rises over our centre, it illuminates more than just the weathered walls; it ignites the dreams of the children from humble homes, who see the centre as a place to learn and play and thrive in the affection of their teachers. The centre is a their beacon of hope for their parents, they dream to educate their children for a better life.. These children, with aspirations as vast as the sky itself, come from backgrounds that have taught them resilience beyond measure. However, sustaining this flame requires more than just passion – it demands resources. We reach out to you to support the future of these children. Bhati Mines, the site of Project Sshrishti Bal Siksha, lies on the south-west fringes of Delhi. It is a colony of migrants of Sindhi community from Pakistan and other impoverished communities from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan who have settled here to earn a living by doing menial work. It is a colony without any civic amenities. Sshrishti’s preliminary survey indicates a striking lack of adequate educational facilities in the settlement. The existing schools overrun their capacity, given the proliferating settlements in the neighbourhood. The community also sees a significant proportion of school dropouts due to frequent migrations and economic crunch. Lacking provisions for bridge learning and flexible intakes, the established schema of schooling also thwarts continued education amongst migrant communities. Children from such communities often have prolonged periods of absence, have to forgo examinations, and thus remain particularly vulnerable to dropping out. Malnutrition and high rates of morbidity also compound poor performance and high drop-out rate. Learning outcomes remain dismal given intermittent school attendance and conditions of learning and living that most significantly impact the possibilities of schooling and learning.To address the needs of the community, Sshrishti Bal Siksha, an initiative for early years’ education, began in 2010. Sshrishti Bal Siksha currently provides holistic learning at two levels - pre-school/nursery, and kindergarten.Sshrishti Bal Siksha has grown consistently since its inception with an increased beneficiary base, bringing holistic learning and remedial tutoring to the children of some of the most impoverished households of the Sanjay colony, Bhati Mines. 
 Project Bal Siksha is implementing the following components - 	Academic learning for 150 children through daily morning school and afternoon remedial classes 	Art and craft and educational tools, and materials based learning including basic computer learning	Mid-day meal to provision adequate nutrition	Unit tests and periodical exams for regular progress and performance monitoring and evaluation	Parent and teacher meetings for effective monitoring / feedback	Celebration of festivals and landmark days 	Exposure and recreational outings 	Annual Sports Day	General health check-ups including dental, eye check up, and immunization camps 
 Sshrishti Bal Siksha programme is addressing the distinct needs of children from migrant communities through schooling for early years. The goal is to get the out of school children into the schooling system, especially the girls who are often left out of the education system in marginalized communities. The programme is ensuring the holistic development of the children, with reading, writing and numeracy skills appropriate for their age, along with development of their motor skills and social skills. Children are mainstreamed into regular schools after two years in the centre.The programme is also addressing the need for remedial education for the students attending local government schools to improve their learning outcome.

Do you know how it feels to go to bed hungry?Many children living in our slums do.Since last two decades, India has witnessed remarkable economic development, yet thousands of children are still malnourished and have stunted growth. The children need wholesome meals for the development of their mind and body. 
 We strongly believe that a healthy meal is essential for a healthy mind. Our “Fight Hunger” campaign is based on the ‘Eat well, Learn well’ concept where we believe that young children should be fed with, a balanced diet to ensure their holistic development and that in turn will enable them to study well and go forward in life. The children are India's future, and we need to nurture them well. You can sponsor our children to eat nutritious meals.  
 MEAL Description Rs 300 only for meals to 10 children per day. For 500 slum children in Delhi. Let us fight malnutrition together!

FIGHT HUNGER IN THE SLUMS OF DELHI

The children of migrant labourers often miss out on schooling and tend to drop out of regular school due to the constant shuttling of their families between their native village and city. Therefore need a flexible schooling system which offers the children year-round admission/enrolment, gives them personalised attention and provides them an opportunity for accelerated learning to make up for the lost time, which are to help them cope. Sshrishti model of learning addresses these needs specific to children from poor, footloose, migrant communities. 
 Sshrishti Ladli is being implemented with the objective of providing wholesome education to children from impoverished, migrant communities living in the Ward 2 of the Mehrauli area of New Delhi. The project seeks to bring an enriching learning experience to the children from such communities, along with elementary healthcare. 
 1.	Mobilise children/community to increase enrolment of out-of-school children2.	Give the students quality education using modern educational techniques and aids3.	Improve Nutrition status through Mid-Day-Meal 4.	Foster health among children through elementary health check-ups and immunisation5.	Nurture creativity and talents among students through extra-curricular activities like music, dance, arts &amp; craft, and sports.6. Sshrishti is an acclaimed Delhi-based NGO that has received considerable recognition for its work in the domains of education, digital literacy, skill training and women empowerment. Sshrishti envisions a literate and equitable society with every child and woman empowered to pursue their dreams.Sshrishti made a humble beginning in 2003 at the residence of its founder Ms. Sanghamitra Bose. Her endeavor to teach an underprivileged child from a nearby slum grew into an initiative to teach more children and subsequently providing informal education to 50 – 60 children daily at her residence for almost a year. Sshrishti, which means ‘creation’ came into being on 15th December 2003 getting registered as a trust and moving to its first rented premises in September 2004. Since then Sshrishti has only grown from strength to strength in the number of beneficiaries it reaches and the number of centres it runs.Our key focus area remains education and we currently operate eight learning centres that reach out to almost 2,000 underprivileged children daily, offering them quality education and nutrition, as well as bridge-learning educational facilities. Since inception Sshrishti has expanded its base of operations to the added verticals of Digital Literacy, Skill Development of Youth and Women and Women Empowerment. Sshrishti provides digital literacy and skill training to the youth giving them the opportunity for a better future, and works towards improving the lives of women through our programmes for skill development, livelihood generation and gender justice.Sshrishti has been accredited by Charities Aid Foundation, Credibility Alliance and Guidestar India. In course of its journey Sshrishti has received considerable recognition, awarded as the Best NGO in North India (small category) by the Rockefeller Foundation and Resource Alliance in 2009-10 and featuring amongst the top four finalists at the India NGO Awards by Edelgive Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation in 2013-14. In 2018, Gray Matters Capital (India), an independent agency for measuring learning outcomes, graded Sshrishti’s academic performance much higher than that of government schools pan-India. Our footprints span across several states including Delhi NCR, Uttarakhand, UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and over the last 16 years Sshrishti has impacted the lives of over 11 lakhs individuals belonging to the most disempowered and marginalised sections of our society and we are eager to touch the lives of many more.
