“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. While Lalitha has also helped many women escape the clutches of being forced into sex work, the SPID is focused on rescuing children and giving them a better life.Sadly, many more children need to be rescued and need a loving home. And the worst affected are the children who grow up in red-light areas and are subjected to constant abuse and violence. “The sight of a 12-year-old girl being gang-raped by a group of men near a house l haunts me to this date. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. I had even seen my friend’s 15-year-old sister and 70-year-old grandmother being forced to do sex work for the price of a cup of tea”, recalls Girish. “I started by merely feeding and teaching children of sex workers initially with the intention of giving them some respite from the horrors of life of abuse in red-light areas. Gradually more and more mothers started coming to me and asked me to take their children away, even if it was just for a couple of hours,” he further adds.The work that Girish started in his youth gradually grew to become a movement, with many more joining his cause. That was the day I knew my mission in life was to get these children out of the hell-like conditions in red-light areas. We started a small learning centre and gradually reached to more than 100 children in that centre. Also reached out to vulnerable groups in Meerut and Azamgarh ( UP). The Wings believes in the constitution and human rights and believes that working at the grassroots level and making a constant effort for even a single person will bring positive change in the life of a vulnerable section of society. Education is a fundamental right of every child and it plays a crucial role in shaping their future. However, in the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi areas, many children are unable to access quality education due to poverty, lack of infrastructure, and social barriers. Our proposal aims to address this issue by providing access to quality education for 500 children in the region through a multi-faceted approach that includes enrollment in formal schools, bridge learning courses, and theme-based learning modules. 
 1.     Enrollment in Formal Schools: We will work with local government schools to identify children who are not currently enrolled in school and provide them with the necessary support to enrol in a formal school. This will include assistance with school fees, uniforms, and transportation.2.     Bridge Learning Courses: We will provide bridge learning courses for children who have dropped out of school or have never attended school. These courses will be designed to help children catch up with their peers and prepare them for enrollment in formal schools.3. Theme-Based Learning Modules: We will develop and implement theme-based learning modules to enhance the quality of education for children. These modules will focus on subjects such as math, science, and language and will be designed to be interactive and engaging for children. 
 1.    Increase enrolment of children in formal schools by 50% within one year. 150 new enrollments are targeted.2.    Provide bridge learning courses for children who have dropped out of school or have never attended school and enable at least 100 of them to be ready to enrol in age-appropriate classes for the next session ( 2024-25)3.   Develop and implement theme-based learning modules to enhance the quality of education.
