TILJALA SOCIETY FOR HUMAN AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT is a non-religious, non-political grassroots level non-government developmental organization working for the underprivileged and marginalized people of Kolkata. Our focus beneficiaries include the rag picker community which has been neglected and socially ostracized by civil society. Tiljala Shed seeks to empower and transform rag pickers from a life in rags to a recognized and better quality of life. Apart working for the development of rag pickers, Tiljala Shed also works with other related vulnerable groups like child labourers and street dwellers.
