The UN Convention on the Rights of a Child in Article 31 states that that "every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.” Article 31 is now being known as the ‘Forgotten Article of the Convention’. Unfortunately, government ministries or departments of the member countries who have ratified the Convention have not been able to include or gauge the importance of Article 31 in its entirety. It is a known fact that a child’s brain develops when they are involved in active physical and mental activities. Play should not be considered as a leisure activity, but something that aids in the growth of a child and promotes emotional well-being as well. It is through games and toys that a toddler learns to identify colours and shapes, thereby improving their motor skills. For young children, learning alphabets and numbers can be far easier if done using toys or games. 
 We, at The Toy Bank, believe that a child’s brain develops when they are involved in active physical and mental activities. Play should not be considered only as a leisure activity, but something that aids in the growth of a child and promotes emotional well being as well. The toys are collected through our collection centres as well as collection drives in schools and corporates. These toys are then refurbished and then repackaged into age-graded toy kits and then re-distributed to villages in rural and tribal areas to create Toy Libraries The Toy Bank caters to the specific needs of kids to play with toys. We ensure that the child has access to toys – both educational and for leisure, thereby making certain that the Child's Right to Play is re-enforced. We also believe that toys are extremely significant for the holistic development of a child and therefore work vigorously in providing toys and storybooks to the underprivileged children. Till date, we have successfully created 4883 Toy Libraries impacting above 5 Lakh children by recycling approximately 15 lakh toys.

The pandemic has created a big hurdle in the path of holistic development of a child, which is exactly what Toy Bank Charitable Trust works towards through their notion of Right to Play. Through the Reach and Teach Program, the team shall provide activity-based learning kits and toys and e-learning classes to each student enrolled in the Municipal Schools of Delhi to increase their accessibility to toys, board games, DIY activity kits, storybooks, stationery items and other aids required to continue their learning. By donating just ₹700 you can provide four DIY activity-based learning kit for one child annually.Currently, a larger variety of relief programs were done across India throughout the nationwide pandemic lockdown focusing on economic restoration. However, the education sector has remained missing from this effort, especially in government schools situated in rural and urban spaces. Since the focus is more on feeding and supplementary nutrition, the focus of education skipped leading to a wide gap in learning levels that students are likely to experience if the school continues to remain shut for long. Thus, leading to a possible increase in the drop-out due to the extended lockdown. Moreover, it has also affected the children, especially those who are living in vulnerable conditions as they do not have enough resources like toys, board games, DIY Kits, books or other educational aids to engage themselves at home and are most likely to forget their former classes and experience anxiety, depression due to physical isolation from their friends, as well as teachers, extended family and community networks. 
 The damage to the learning levels and emotional stability of children across India is suffering; it is possible that with some proper planning and implementation program to help the child's journey to school continues by the systematic execution, and availability of resources at home.The Toy Bank advocates for Article 31 of the UNCRC, catering to the specific needs of children to realize their Right to Play. We ensure that even the most vulnerable child has access to toys – both educational and for leisure. The Toy Bank works on the premise that play should not be considered as a leisure activity exclusive to a privileged child but something that aids in the overall growth of every child. The early years of a child’s life are critical. It is during these early years that child develops cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills that form the foundation needed to succeed in life. The Toy Bank under Safe Playroom Project proposes "Reach and Teach Program", where the team will provide "Activity-based learning kits and Toys" and “E-Learning classes” to each student enrolled in the Municipal Schools of Delhi to increase their accessibility to toys, board games, DIY activity kits, storybooks, stationery items and other aids required to continue their learning and able to participate in E-Learning classes at home smoothly.Daily, E-learning worksheets and supporting videos explaining the concept and how to conduct an activity at home to the students from first to fifth grade will be shared, as most of the parents are not capable enough to support the students in education. The E-Learning classes will also be flexible to the student's availability to phones or any other electronic items so that no one is left behind.
