For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. I had even seen my friend’s 15-year-old sister and 70-year-old grandmother being forced to do sex work for the price of a cup of tea”, recalls Girish. “I started by merely feeding and teaching children of sex workers initially with the intention of giving them some respite from the horrors of life of abuse in red-light areas. As you know a new respiratory disease called COVID-19 is spreading across the world. India has also reported cases from states and the Government is trying to contain the spread of the disease. As on 27 March 2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has confirmed a total of 724 cases and 17 deaths in the country. 
 We are working with Government Hospitals/Community Health Centers/Primary Health Centers in Karnataka. It is essential to protect the Doctors, Nurses, Health workers and the Staff at the Hospitals/CHCs/PHCs.Providing N95 Masks, Gloves and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Kits to Doctors and Healthcare workers in Government Hospitals/Community Health Centers/Primary Health Centers to deal with the acute shortage of protective equipment. This is also necessary to ensure that the Doctors/other Health staff does not get infected or transfer the infection to others.

Oral health is important for appearance, sense of well- being and also for overall health. Oral health can affect quality of life directly and has been linked to sleeping problems, as well as behavioral and developmental problems in children. Oral diseases qualify as a major public health problems owing to their high prevalence and incidence.At the global level, approximately 80% of children attend primary schools and 60% complete at least four years of education, with wide variations between countries and gender. In India, children form about 38% to 40% of the total population, and 80% of them have high levels of dental diseases. School dental screening is seen as a vehicle for bringing children with dental needs in contact with dental services. 
 Project will provide free toothbrushes, toothpastes, dental screening, dental education and referral to 18,000 Government School students in Bangalore, Karnataka state, India. Dental screening of school children can help disadvantaged children by identifying their dental problems and educating them about their oral health status and motivating them to obtain appropriate treatment. To provide on the spot diagnostic preventive &amp; curative dental health Care Services to the school children through fully equipped Mobile Dental Clinic units along with Dental screening and oral health education. 
 Habit of tooth-brushing will begin at family level and parents will encourage this habit. Disadvantaged children will be able to get quality dental care in their schools, wherein incidence of Dental Caries and Gum bleeding will decrease.
