In the dark and dingy alleys of red light areas, injustice, pain and suffering run rampant. And the worst affected are the children who grow up in red-light areas and are subjected to constant abuse and violence. “The sight of a 12-year-old girl being gang-raped by a group of men near a house l haunts me to this date. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. He has further supported over 20,000 children with a better life.Sadly, Of the 250 the children rescued from abuse and exploitation, around 70 of them are HIV positive. I had even seen my friend’s 15-year-old sister and 70-year-old grandmother being forced to do sex work for the price of a cup of tea”, recalls Girish. “I started by merely feeding and teaching children of sex workers initially with the intention of giving them some respite from the horrors of life of abuse in red-light areas. Gradually more and more mothers started coming to me and asked me to take their children away, even if it was just for a couple of hours,” he further adds.The work that Girish started in his youth gradually grew to become a movement, with many more joining his cause. His NGO Snehalaya to date has transformed the lives of millions. Girish’s work is crucial for the survival and safety of vulnerable children of sex workers. Moreover, a good number of children rescued by Girish are diagnosed HIV positive. But no one wants to help women with mental illnesses,” says N Vanitha Rengaraj, chairperson of Sharanalayam.Sharanalaym’s ‘Jothi’ is a sanctuary for over 100 women facing mental challenges. Trishla Foundation is a center of hope for children suffering from cerebral palsy &amp; physical disability. Trishla foundation was registered on 12th August 2014. The aim of Trishla Foundation is to provide good quality care to children affected with cerebral palsy &amp; multiple disabilities. Foundation provides service to special children specially cErebral Palsy through specialized advance physio &amp; occupational therapy, speech therapy, special education, socialization, training of children in activities of daily life, and provide Temporary stay facility to families of cp children at Prayagraj, UP, training of parents in home-based therapy, online &amp; offline education of parents and society, check-up cum training camps &amp; CME in different part on the country. Children with Cerebral Palsy are coming To Trishla foundation for complete rehabilitation from nearly every part of the country. We have started construction of "Trishla CP village" 15 km from the city of Prayagraj at Prayagraj Pratapgarh road in Soran Tehsil on 14th June 2019. CP village will have all the facilities of temporary stay &amp; training of family, comprehensive rehab care, special education, sports, and specialized medical services to children with Cerebral Palsy, orthotic workshop &amp; research center . CP village is a total rehabilitation home so that children with CP can learn to lead normal lives. it will be a model center for the whole country.

In India, 30 Lakh children &amp; adult are affected with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy in children occurs due to brain insult before or after birth until the age of 2 years. Children will have multiple disability which include problem in sitting, walking, eating, speaking, vison, epilepsy and growth abnormality &amp; persist for whole life. By early and timely intervention these children can have good quality of life &amp; even they can be independent, productive for society. These children require long term care. Trishla foundation provides specialized multimodal therapy &amp; training in activities of daily life to these special children, training of parents in home based therapy, research on new innovation in rehabilitation and awareness campaign etc. these children &amp; parents are coming from nearly whole country &amp; they need to stay at Prayagraj for few months to years. We Need a place where the parents can stay along with their children with disability, can have advance therapy and training in all the activities needed for him. 
 We propose a plan to set up a Trishla CP village, where parents can have stay facilities for required period of time, get treatment, training in activities of daily life and creative activities, training of manpower at one place in a cordial environment. The CP village will have CP Home (temporary stay facilities for parents), Advanced rehab centre, Gait lab, Orthotics workshop, Sports ground, integrated school, training &amp; research centre.<ul><li>Phase 1: CP home &amp; Temporary rehab centre - Projected time frame 2019-2021. Construction of first phase has started on 14th June, 2019 at village Sarai Bahar, Soraon tehsil on Prayagraj Faizabad road 15 Kilometer from Prayagraj city. This phase would have a twin building of three floors each with total building area of 50,000 square feet and will have 76 rooms and rehab centre at ground floor. It will accommodate approximately 76 families and same for first, second &amp; third floor. Initially ground floor will be used for Temporary rehab center, canteen, office &amp; multipurpose shop for parents.</li><li>Phase 2: Advance rehab centre, Sport ground, Orthotics Workshop, department of super speciality &amp; Inclusive education school - Projected time frame 2021-2023. This centre will be developed near CP home and will have all the facilities of advanced world-class rehab centre.</li><li>Phase 3: Extension of CP home, research institute &amp; hydrotherapy pool - Projected time frame 2023-25</li></ul> 
 This project will have great impact on lives of CP children and their families coming from nearly every part of the country and abroad. It will give a big opportunity to families of these children with multiple disabilities to intermingle, spreading the awareness about early intervention, good quality care, training of skilled manpower in the field of pediatric disability.<ul><li>Comprehensive rehabilitation &amp; training of parents: having a comprehensive rehabilitation at one place will improve the outcome of rehabilitation care. More and more people with CP would be able to live self dependent lives. Parents will learn to manage these children at home. Trained parents will work as catalyst for other families in their native place.</li><li>Social Integration: When more children would become self dependent it will lead to better social integration of them and their families.</li><li>Schooling and education: Primary schooling &amp; preparation to main stream schooling also will be possible alongside rehabilitation.</li><li>Training of skilled manpower: This project will help us in building up network of skilled worker in the field of disability with latest advancements.</li><li>Research work: This project will also provide a platform for research in this neglected field of disability.</li><li>Model Center in India for composite rehabilitation.</li></ul>
