For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. After Cataract, Refractive Error (RE) is the second largest cause of avoidable blindness, particularly among the school going children. To tackle this important component of avoidable blindness, school children of all age group need to be examined periodically as a routine measure. Apart from Refractive Error, presence of other ocular diseases commonly affecting children like squint, amblyopia, congenital defects in one or both eyes, miscellaneous causes of low vision, vitamin A deficiency causing dryness of eye, infections like trachoma that can compromise corneal clarity in the long run, also need to be identified and treated before it is too late. Children usually don't complain of defective vision especially if only one eye is involved. They may not even be aware of their problem. They adjust to the poor eyesight by sitting near the blackboard,holding the book closer to their eyes, squeezing the eyes and even avoiding work requiring visual concentration. This evades early detection. Timely detection of these problems and their correction by spectacles can tremendously improve the child's potential during his formative years. Visual impairment is an avoidable burden in the life of a child, his family and the society. Periodic screening of all children helps in early identification of visual defects and correction of REs, by prescription/use of corrective spectacles.Therefore, vision screening and complete eye examination of children is an all-important activity. 
 A medical team lead by an Ophthalmologist, duly assisted by optometrist and paramedic staff, shall visit every school and conduct eye screening of every student. Glasses will be prescribed to students to correct refractive errors. Parents of students in private schools can afford spectacles. For students in government schools, we propose to provide free spectacles. From our experience, we have noticed that roughly 20% of children screened require spectacles. Approximately 3,000 spectacles will be needed. For students requiring other types of therapeutic services or vision aids like low vision devices will be referred to vision centres. Cases requiring surgical intervention shall be referred to nearest available hospital. In case of Government Schools, a list of students requiring low vision devices or surgical intervention can be forwarded to the District Sarva Siksha Mission. A detail report comprising of student names identified with eye defects, nature of problem identified and recommended corrective measure shall be provided to the Principal of the school and the concerned class teacher for regular follow-up. For purpose of serving referral patients, our tie-up with Sankar Netralaya will be an additional advantage for students identified by Turnstone Global to require such services. After screening by medical team in school, our community worker will follow-up with respective school periodically to ensure that the recommended measures are being followed properly. 
 Matrices for measuring intended benefits:In order to measure the intended benefits of the Eye Screening Project in Schools, various tangible quantitative indicators shall be used. These indicators will encompass data to provide information about the community as well as services offered by the project. MEASURING INDICATORS FOR THE PROPOSED PROJECT Quantitative Indicator 1: Total number of students screened in schools. Quantitative Indicator 2: Total number of refraction done and glasses dispensed. Quantitative Indicator 3: Total number of low vision cases identified in schools. Quantitative Indicator 4: Total number of surgical cases identified and referred to hospitals Quantitative Indicator 5: Total number of students identified other than RE, LV and surgical intervention like Glaucoma, Squint, etc. Congenital Cataract etc. Quantitative Indicator 6 : Total number of students provided glasses and use them regularly Quantitative Indicator 7: Any other special observation

Among others Hospitality, Aviation, Tourism Industry are the worst hit. Due to COVID- 19 pandemic, India along with the world is experiencing the new normal situation, where Off line practical classes are not possible. On the other hand we have to choose such skills which are in demand during Corona pandemic and will rise after the end of pandemic episode as well.In such situation Turnstone Global proposes to do skilling in the Information Technology sector. The Information Technology Sector has following advantages:<ul><li>The classes can be held online.</li><li>Job from home is possible</li><li>Online jobs are still in demand</li><li>The scope of self-employment is very high in Information Technology.  THE SEGMENT OF POPULATION IT WILL SERVE:- 360 youths under the age of 21 to 35 years.Project Duration:- 6 MonthsTurnstone global wishes to choose sector skill: Information Technology.Job roles:<ul><li>Digital marketing</li><li>Social media marketing manager</li><li>Graphic designer</li><li>Video editor</li><li>Website designer</li><li>Website developer.</li></ul>In each sector 60 students would be enrolled, divided into 2 batches consisting of 30 students. In each job role there will be On line class for 300 Hours,Daily 4 hours. Roughly it will take 3 and half months to complete the course. After completion of the course there will be On line Examination and Project work, which the student have to submit via e-mail. On completion the certificate will be issued. As soon the classes are started the employment officer start contacting with different companies for the placement of the trained students. The students can be generated through on line promotion such as Google ad word, social media marketing etc.  
 The project will have following potential impact:<ul><li>360 Youth will be trained</li><li>70 percent (252 youths) will get employment.</li><li>252 families will be self-sufficient.</li></ul>

The pandemic has had a lasting impact on the future of our country subjecting them not only to emotional grief and financial hardships but also long-term psychological impacts. Turnstone Global would like to work towards protecting children over 200 children across multiple locations by providing them with nutritional, educational and psychological support. Since then, Indian health system has been crashed, economy devastated, we are living with several insecurities and uncertainties of life. Our children are not in exception. Though Children are not the face of this pandemic. But they risk being among its biggest victims. While they have thankfully been largely spared from the direct health effects of COVID-19 - at least to date – the crisis is having a profound effect on their wellbeing. All children, of all ages, and in all countries, are being affected. This is a universal crisis and, for some children, the impact will remain lifelong. Moreover, the harmful effects of this pandemic will not be distributed equally. They are expected to be most damaging for children in the poorest countries, and in the poorest neighborhoods, and for those who are in already disadvantaged or vulnerable situations.The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic caused by the Novel Coronavirus has affected all including children. It has made a dreadful impact on child education, most notably of poor and deprived families.As per UNESCO estimates, education of 120 crore students across the world are being disrupted by school closures. This includes 32.1 crore children in India. Keeping children at home for more than 20 weeks has disturbed the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of the children. The worst affected among them are kids of the poor.Experts say that short time out of education will have its effect on children. When schools are closed for a more extended period, imagine how more and long-lasting the impact would be on them. Children may forget what they already learnt. While online classes may prevent this regression for some, think of those, who has lack of access to technology and internet connection.Children in urban areas face challenges of different kind. They live in small houses crammed in unhygienic locations.  Learning with peers sitting in one classroom at school is totally different from learning in the home environment. Are children mentally prepared for this? Not at all. Parents do their house core job or remain lazy without work, older siblings are playing games or watching TV, grannies chatting, and neighborhoods noise cannot able to re-create a classroom environment.Children of the poor both in urban and rural areas in India are thus denied education in this ‘new normal era’. Their minds are filled with numerous questions. They require help to elude their mental pressure triggered by unanswered questions. Adding insult to such pandemic situation, they face abuse in multiple forms. Sexual abuse and child trafficking are the worst among them. Is their childhood secure? No. Thousands of children are pushed out of education and are plunged into early marriage or force labour .Apart from education, lack of nutrition among children is another burning problem. India has witnessed crores of job losses, as per SBI report around 22 crore people has drowned below poverty line. Problem of migrant labour during covid 19 has worsen the problem. It has been estimated that roughly 4 out of 10 children go to bed in every night either in empty stomach or having less food as per recommended nutrition fixed for their age group .More over the food which our children receive in India, do not meet their regular protein requirement even in pre-covid era. Covid 19 has worsen the problem.Covid 19 has devastated families across India, orphaning many children.Smt .Smirti Irani, Hon’ble Minister for Women and Child Welfare, recently tweeted that both parents of at least 577 children had died with coronavirus between 1 April 2021 and 25 May2021. Experts say this number is more likely a significant underestimate.Later, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced measures to help orphaned children, with a fund of around $13,970 (£9,852) set aside for each child. This will be given to them as a stipend from the ages of 18-23.In India's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, more than 1,000 Covid orphans had been identified, said Dr Preeti Verma, a member of the state's Child Welfare Commission. 
 Identification methodology:Our volunteers go to different municipalities/panchayats/hospitals and collect data about the person who has died due to corona virus along with their home address. After collecting the data our volunteers go to the said household for verification and identification and collect more data about the marital status and number of children of the deceased person died due to corona virus infection.a) Medical checkup-Every month identified children are being brought to our OPD for medical checkup and measurement of height, weight and arm circumference are being taken to track the grade of any malnutrition.b) Counselling- Initially our psychological counsellor are taking  session with the identified children to ascertain whether any psychological issue or any insecurity in their mind are developing due to loss of one parent mostly father/ parents. It has been noticed that these children develop insecurities about life and insecurities in regard to their mother as well. Due to this reason generally, they do not allow their mother to go out for work or not allow to go their mother out of their vision. It has also been noticed that these children often cry remembering their lost parent and subsequently develop anxiety and depression due to unable to sleep at night. Our psychological counsellor counsel them once a week initially for six months.c) Medical Help-If any child has been diagnosed with any birth deformity or with any disease, we initiate his/her medical / surgical treatment depending upon the disease pattern.d) Nutritive Food-Every child are being given ration kit with some multi vitamin supplements for their age wise proper growth along with cooked protein food thrice in a week.e) Education-Identified children is given assistance with books/copies stationary and twice a week off line   classes 1 to 1 for make better understanding of the subjects. 
 This project is highly impactful for the children whose either one or both parents died due to ill effect of corona virus. Through this project we will able to achieve following impact within 2 years .a) We can save 100 children who is suffering with insecurities ,anxiety or depression through psychological counselling.b) Birth deformities or underlying diseases will be diagnosed ,corrected among 25 children whose parents died due to ill effect of corona virusc) 200 children will be prevented from hunger and malnutrition for 2 years ,whose parents have died due to covid 19 infection.d) 200 children will be prevented from going out of school who might going to be the victim of child labour or early marriage ,whose parents died due to Covid 19 infection
