In India, it is fair to say that the contributions of people with intellectual disabilities are not valued. Their talents, skills, and potential remain largely untapped, under-utilized, and under-developed. The education and employment rates for people with disabilities are far lower than the rates for people who are not disabled. People with intellectual disabilities typically have higher than normal living expenses and very few such families have a regular source of income, with the result being that this group of people is one of the most impoverished ones in India.As per the Census 2011, there are approximately 16 lakhs people with intellectual disabilities living in India. Out of this, about 75% are living in rural areas where the predominant industry is agriculture. Catering to this situation, Udayam is initiating a farm academy to provide systematic farm and agricultural related training for people with intellectual disabilities.One of the training programmes that we are planning to initiate is 'Country Chicken Farm' and animal care. 
 To make the list of skills that can be learned at our eco-friendly farm even longer, we are planning to introduce a Country Chicken Farm that teaches our community the intricacies of animal care and contributes to the community self-sustainability. We are planning to start a country chicken farm with a basic structure and improved technique. There are many benefits of starting country chicken farming in a village.The country chicken farming doesn’t require highly skilled labour. The infrastructure for country chicken farm is situated at our own land.Constructing low cost rooms for the people with intellectual disabilities and shelter for chicken.Conducting the baseline survey for identifying economic needs and mobilising the target beneficiaries. Cultivating green plants and organic vegetable. Manuring plants using country chicken waste. Purchasing 90 chickens for the farm.Covering insurance cost for chickens and getting chicken health care check up by veterinary doctor. Sale of country chicken. 
 -	The target beneficiaries will have learnt the techniques of chicken breeding, procuring eggs with modern techniques, production and sale of chicken, eggs and vegetable plantation. -	The trained people will attain knowledge of government schemes supporting running country chicken and developing horticulture. -	The workers in the country chicken farm will have improved production of egg and chicken sold and by breeding more number of chicken in the next phase.-	Those who work in the country chicken farm will have an opportunity and means of improving their income.-	The target people shall be running the country chicken farm and the biogas plant profitably.-	The area in and around the country chicken form will have become eco-friendly.-	The target people at farm land will receive free, pure, hygienic chicken, eggs and organic vegetables.-	Unexpected loss caused by chicken will be compensated by insurance coverage.-	Project beneficiaries will acquire basic knowledge on sustainably and successfully running country chicken farm, along with improved income resources and self-sufficient livelihood for their family.-	Thus, the beneficiaries will have gained inclusive employability and a better quality of life.

The COVID-19 pandemic, bedridden disabled children face many barriers to good health. Studies show that individuals with disabilities Having poor health care and less adequate health care with Risky health behaviors, physical inactivity.             Bedridden disabled children often are more susceptible to preventable health problems that decrease their overall health and quality of life. Secondary conditions such as pain, fatigue, obesity, and depression can occur as a result of having a disabling condition. 
 ●       Providing Organic health kits like dry fruits, nuts for one year on a daily basis.By adhering to all safety and hygiene measures, by providing Covid Relief Kits comprising of raw food items and sanitary products to this bedridden disabled child Each of the Covid Relief Kits comprises of food items such as Sugar, Rice, Dal, Refined Oil Sanitary Napkins, Face Masks, Hand sanitizer and Hand wash bottles. 
 ●     Health kits will increase their immunity power to be strong against their impairment.●     It will also give them a taste for making them mentally happy.●     It will make them sense they have someone who really cares for them.●     It will increase their community network to become familiar with it and to reduce their social hesitation.●     Providing Covid Relief Kits to underprivileged families to ensure that these people don’t go hungry during this pandemic for at least 12 months●     Providing masks, hand sanitizers and hand wash products for maintaining hygiene as per the definition of Covid appropriate behaviour.●     Providing sanitary napkins, which would help women continue the menstrual hygiene practices during the lockdown period and thereby stay healthy.

Health kit for bedridden disabled children

The parents failed in early identification &amp; detection of symptoms of Mentally Retarded (MR) and Cerebral Palsy (CP) of their affected children due to lack of and low level of awareness and education.Even if some of the parents identify the symptoms, they do not try out the preventive measures and avail government schemes. The parents are not willing to send their IC children to care centres and special schools because they are not able to carry the children physically and the children have no bowel control Also, the MR &amp; CP children are not able to brush, spoon-feeding, dress and clean themselves.Physiotherapy is not affordable to parents as it costs Rs. 200/- per visit by physiotherapists. Even if they think of taking these children out for consultation, they have to forego their daily wage. The MR &amp; CP children don't have access to medical care due to the above-mentioned inevitable reasons. 
 Awareness creation: Children will go through a career counselling session which provides them with access to information about careers, education and livelihoods with the finest co-operation from the Dindigul district administration.To create awareness among the parents /caregivers of MR &amp; CP about the currently available health care and educational system.Home-based training on Daily Living Skills (DLS). Providing special education, speech, physiotherapy training, and communication skills at the doorsteps.- To help 250 MR and CP children to receive quality health care at free of cost.- Reducing the burden of IC children parents.- Improving the life skill activities of the MR &amp; CP. -Improve the status of MR &amp; CP children.-To look after themselves through therapies.We try to bring the children with special needs to educational centres especially Convergence with Government departments for facilitating the target children, providing vocational skills development training on a smaller scale.Link with the NIRMAYA Insurance scheme which is launched exclusively for MR, CP and Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance (CMCHI) scheme which is launched exclusively for children with Autism. 
 Economic Impact-Reaching the unreached -Convergence with all the line departments moving towards sustainability and linked with available resources.The parents of 40 IC children need not worry about the expenses of medical attention.The 40 IC children will get aids and appliances at no cost.The 40 IC children will learn all life skills at free of cost.The parents need not employ persons to assist their children.Eligible children will be mainstreamed after the training and Therapy services.All the children will avail the NIRAMAYA scheme to reduce their medical expenses.Eligible children will be enrolled under the Autism Multimodal Therapy Scheme. The IC children living in remote and isolated areas are covered, and assets such as a van, TLM materials and equipment can be utilized for long term. Environmental impact:There will be no negative economic environmental impact on our project because there is no pollution of air and water. But socio-environment will become conducive for the betterment of our target people.

Home Care for the Bedridden Mentally Challenged Children

At present, the existing available schemes are addressing only the welfare items like supply of aids and appliances and maintenance grants. No one is even speak about their sustainable livelihood.
