“We received a distress call saying that a blind girl is being held captive by a woman and is being forced to beg. Our volunteers were able to rescue that girl and bring her to the Blind Welfare Society home for girls. We cared for her and educated her. Vasudev Seva Sangha is an important wing under V.V.P. which works for Pradnya Chakshu (visually impaired) and differently-abled students.‘Jivhala’, meaning affection, is the name given to the facilities run by Vasudev Seva Sangh. We have two residential facilities (hostels) in Pune, Maharashtra: one for boys, and another for girls of Pradnyachakshu (Blind) college students who belong to economically backward families and hail from remote places of Maharashtra. The caretaker who looks after these students is also a differently abled boy. We are operating wholly on help and donations from our volunteers, without any government grants. We aim to help out the visually impaired and disabled communities by means of better education, upgradation of their skills in banking and finance sector, and providing job opportunities in commercial market.
