The proposed village is Baddevolu . As the target groups are illiterate, ignorant and UN-organised, they happen to be the most oppressed and exploited groups in the area with little or no access to developmental opportunities. Even though there are some welfare measure rs earmarked for their development, they are not able to reach out to them due to competition from the advantaged groups with political clout. The drinking water program mes are being implemented by the local politics. As a rule certain number of bores basing on the available resources are allotted to this division and they are in turn allocated to the villages mostly by basing on political pressure than on the need for drinking water. As these communities happen to be the most un-3d and disadvantaged groups they are not in a position to influence the authorities for the installation of bore wells for safe drinking water.The 2 water sources of these poor peoples were also not sufficient and depend on other way and potential ground water and so they forced to get the water out of the village from far from their dwellings. so their condition is most measurable and sympathetically provide drinking water to these locality people.The target women spend considerable time walking long distances and carrying heavy loads of water. Due to malnutrition and heavy work, their physical resources are consumed, increasing the already high malnutrition rates. This situation gigantically increases the already cramped workload of these poor women, leaving them no time for developmental activities. On the other hand, due to the very nature of the open shallow wells present in the area, the water is usually contaminated, often leading to various water borne diseases including dysentery, diarrhea, amoebiosis, hepatitis, etc., often affecting the vulnerable and malnutrition women and children, sometimes even leading to mortality. The high rates of morbidity and mortality among the target women and children are directly related to water and malnutrition.The proposed target 485 families from different communities living in the proposed village. We would like to taken up the families of single women, the proposed village for implementation of this project. They are illiterates and ignorant. Due to lack of sufficient employment through out the year. Both the men and women were migrated to far way places for Lab our work.with this project nearly 2910 people will be benefited directly . 
 The intervention will be completely through people's participation. Considering the population and need in the target village, point will be identified for the installation of bore for the supply of drinking water.A bore well will be installed by drilling of 225 feet/ 68.58 meters depth in the center point of the target people houses. Construction of water tank with 6 feet height nearby the bore well. In the bottom side of the water tank 10 taps will be arranged to draw water. A platform constructed in the bottom side of the water tank with concrete cement to maintain proper sanitation conditions. Digging of recharge pit nearby water collecting points to divert the waste water. An electric motor arranged nearby house, which prevent theft by others and attached to the bore well to draw water. A separate power connection arranged to the motor and collect minimum user charges i.e., Rs.10/- per month to meet the electricity and repair bills. The user charges collected by Water and Sanitation Committees and utilized share the expenses with the users in monthly meetings.Efforts will be made to develop 'Water and Sanitation Committees among the target groups. They will be equipped with skills and knowledge in order to enable them to carry out the health and sanitation education activities and also participate in the regular maintenance of the hand pumps, motor and taps in order to ensure a sustainable supply of clean and safe drinking water. They will also ensure that the water is used optimally with minimum wastage. The waste water will be diverted to the recharge pits arranged near to the bore well, which will help to maintain the water levels in the bore well. The committees will also be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of sanitary conditions surrounding the bore well3.3 
 As it is the women who are involved in carrying head loads of water from long distances the programme will enable to reduce their burden and enhance their time for participation in developmental activities. It will also provide them with enough time to spend for the over all development of their children. As the physical workload is reduced it will automatically effect a reduction in the level of malnutrition among the vulnerable women. As malnutrition is the basic factor behind various diseases, the rates of chronic diseases among the vulnerable women will also come down. As clean and safe drinking water is provided through the bore wells, on a permanent basis, the rates of water borne diseases like diarrhea, dysentery, amoebiosis, hepatitis, etc. tormenting the vulnerable women and children will be reduced. The fact that this programme will reduce the rates of morbidity and mortality among the vulnerable downtrodden women and children, and pave the way for their sustainable development is completely justified.

Sustainable supply of safe and clean drinking water Through TAP SYSTEM to backward, remote village of Baddevolu, Kaluvai Mandal, SPSR Nellore District

The District has gone through three development phases: pacification, relief and resettlement; Rehabilitation and Reconstruction; and Development. Although the poverty situation is being improved by developing rural infrastructure, introduction of income generating projects and provision of credit, there was a re-emergence of the LRA insecurity in 2003 which depleted the district off the good successes registered in the past. Health, hygiene and sanitation problems continue to affect service delivery and improvement of people’s livelihoodsProblem analysis  Although menstruation is an integral and normal part of human life, indeed of human existence, the subject is however too often a taboo and has met many negative cultural hindrances and attitudes due to the perceptions among especially men and boys, including the idea that menstruating women and girls are „contaminated‟, „dirty‟ and „impure‟. Women and girls in rural setting and in particular girls in schools suffer most from stigma and lack of services and facilities to help them cope with the physical and psychological pains they undergo during their menstrual periods; inadequate preparations for the young girls not yet experiencing menstrual hygiene, lack of or inadequate water to clean and wash the body, lack of materials managing menstrual hygiene, private space and wash rooms and inappropriate facilities for disposal of materials for those who have used pads. In spite of these issues, menstrual hygiene has been routinely ignored by professionals in the water, health and education sectors. More school menstruating girls in Nellore primary schools experience isolation and rejection from their fellow pupils who regard them as „contaminated‟, „dirty‟ and „impure‟. Women and girls in rural setting and in particular girls in schools suffer most from stigma and lack of services and facilities to help them cope with the physical and psychological pains they undergo during their menstrual periods; inadequate preparations for the young girls not yet experiencing menstrual hygiene, lack of or inadequate water to clean and wash the body, lack of materials managing menstrual hygiene, private space and wash rooms and inappropriate facilities for disposal of materials for those who have used pads. In spite of these issues, menstrual hygiene has been routinely ignored by professionals in the water, health and education sectors. Our surveys have shown that a total of 70% of the girl pupils report to miss 1-3 days of primary schools per month, which translates to a loss of 8 to 24 school days per year. This means per term a girl pupil may miss up to 8 days of study. This represents around 10% of a girl pupils‟ attendance missed due to menstruation; a majority of these girls note that they are physically sick and weak, cannot concentrate, or feel psychologically effects. In addition, 60% of the head teachers note that the girls absentee themselves from school during their menstrual cycle; Head and senior teachers further noted that they calculate around 10% of the total number of girls dropping out of school due to menstrual management and their schools do not have satisfying menstrual facilities. Over 50% of the senior women teachers affirmed the provision of menstrual pads to girls at school is not available and another 60% of the girl pupils stated that they need better facilities (hardware aspects). In addition, issues around sensitization of boy pupils, and the use of old cloth, dirty napkins and other un-hygienic materials.  
                                     This project will train 100 rural school girls to locally make reusable sanitary pads to manage their menstrual hygiene and stay at school throughout the months in Nellore district. The project will also support selected schools to establish special rest rooms to enable girls have privacy during menstruation. These rooms will prove very useful for especially new girls who are taken unaware of their menstruation. 1.Identify potential school girls to benefit from the project and sensitize them.2.Conduct 5 trainings sessions for the girls and school senior women teachers 3.Facilitate training sessions by trained girls and senior women teachers for other school pupils and teachers. 
 1. Increased school completion rate among targeted girls supported by this project; 2. Reduced stigma and isolation of girls from boys due to improved knowledge and understanding on menstrual hygiene; 3. Reduced school absenteeism; reduced cost of purchase of disposable sanitary pads.

Strengthening the capacity of 5 schools in managing menstrual hygiene in Nellore  district,

The lands are Mountainous and not leveled, sometimes the top layer of the land is washed away during occasional rainfall.It is a Draught prone area, Monsoon is minimal and irregular, with total rainfall of less than 500 mm per year. The Rainfall is likely to happen once in a year due to the Northeast monsoon. Sometimes years together it is completely dry.The north feeder canal of the Telugu Ganga project is situated at a stone's throw distance from these lands, but of no use as the lands are on the higher side. Since there is no water for the uplands, the beneficiaries are compelled to work as farm labourers in the fields of the landlords whose lands are irrigated by a feeder canalLift irrigation societies were formed. They are defunct as of now. The lands were full of trees and bushes which were removed by the 107 beneficiaries shedding their tear of blood in converting the forest land into cultivable land but no water facilities for the entire land to be benefited the 107 Sc Families.The target beneficiaries are socially and economically backward communities of Mangupalli village, they are unable to get employment throughout the year due to untimely and erratic rainfall as they depend on agriculture as their main source of income. 214 acres of land given by the government to help them for better livelihood are lying vacant without proper irrigation facilities. Hence the primary issue is that they don’t have a sustainable irrigation facility. Government-provided open wells collapsed due to heavy rainfalls and cyclones. The government provided some irrigation open wells for water sources but they collapsed due to heavy rains and floods that occurred previously. As the beneficiaries worked hard in removing all trees, and bushes, were removed with at most interest shedding their tear of blood in the conversion of forest-like land into cultivable land. Due to a lack of water facilities, the land was kept ideally and so the government again provided lift irrigation from the north feeder channel of the Somasila project is also in vain due to technical trouble. So our organization and people requested the L&amp;T Engineers Chennai to rectify all defects and make a feasible report. But no one came forward to fulfil the estimates provided in the feasibility report. If you provided water facilities the entire land will yield good and the 107 poor families will be prosperous and have continuous employment throughout the year. Nearly 36000 people including 18325 women belonging to the SC category which is a socially backward community in India are facing hardships with regard to meeting basic human needs like food, clothing and shelter.They lack self-confidence, Health awareness due to a lack of proper education and training. They are depending on the higher caste and rich people of the village for their wages and employment and most of the time get exploited by them.They are lacking in awareness with regard to the proper utilization of the existing resources. The feasibility report which is enclosed herewith for a detailed budget estimate can be sufficient enough to supply water to the entire land if you are kind enough. 
 To alleviate the socially and economically poor people from illiteracy and to develop the lives of rural poor people in all aspects, the below-listed activities were taken up by the organization /society in the past. Awareness programs to create awareness with regard to the utilization of Government provided facilities &amp; schemes are being conducted on regular basis.3500 people including women were trained in computer literacy and adult education.Skill development programs with the rural youth who are seeking employment in the towns were conducted for 350 youth.Imparted training on the latest farming techniques with the help of the Rural development board of V D S Nellore for 107 farmers.Conducted awareness programs with regard to the importance of education, health and hygiene involving 500 women from the SC community with the help of the established self-help groups in all the 7 targeted villages.Created awareness on family planning, disease prevention, nutrition etc; involving the district Health department. VDS will interact with various self-help groups to enlighten the rural folk on aspects like eradication of social inequalities, eradication of alcoholism and creating communal harmony. Land levelling and land development Entire 214 acres of land owned by 107 members from the scheduled caste communities will be done by themselves under SRMADANAM.The creation of water harvesting structures with raised bunds and PVC-lined ponds will also be done by the beneficiaries with the help of V.D.S.Water divining with the help of geologists for sinking bore wells to irrigate the lands at the rate of one bore well for every 8acres.Provision of electricity to operate the submersible pumps in the bore wells and also operate the water-saving systems like drip and sprinkler irrigation based on the need.Formation of user groups for the bore wells to manage the supply of water and also manage the systemProviding technical inputs in the form of training, agricultural inputs of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides for successful farming by the SC beneficiariesProviding the required cultural operations for the growing of the crops including supply of labour-saving machines where necessaryTimely harvest and marketing of the produce, be it grains, pulses, oil seeds, fruits and vegetables on collective farming principles by saving on logistics of harvesting operations, primary processing and transport of the produce to the marketsAwareness creation on the current start of art technology most suitable to the area for the crops grown by the beneficiariesAll the above objectives will lead to continuous and cohesive employment generation throughout the year for the SC population in the area, if not from the neighbouring villages as wellWith the increase in agricultural production, there will be a need for value addition which will in turn improve their income levels and result in an upward trend in the standard of living. VDS has 12 committed committee members, 2 technical staff and 12 Volunteers to coordinate and oversee the execution of the project and ensure it sustains in the long run.The Agricultural department of the state government will provide technical support by training the beneficiaries on cultural practices and supplying quality agricultural inputs of seeds and fertilizers. Assistance will also be sought from the government for the establishment of value addition unitsThe beneficiary stakeholders will form themselves as user groups, SHGs and federation and administer the project to benefit all the members and work towards sustenance. APSEB will also be one of the stakeholders to provide the required supply of electricity against the payment of the required deposit for each connection and installation of the transformer.
