“They insert a candle in the vagina, fingers are inserted (in the vagina) and tortured, and if children don’t relent even then, they put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. And the worst affected are the children who grow up in red-light areas and are subjected to constant abuse and violence. “The sight of a 12-year-old girl being gang-raped by a group of men near a house l haunts me to this date. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. Since April 2020 after the COVID crisis, many families have lost their earning members in slum colonies as well as in other colonies. Till now they have had no source of income to feed their families. They are even helpless to feed them, have no excess medical needs, no money to pay their rent if they are in rented premises and no money to continue the education of their children. 
 As the residents of the slums/jj colonies of DELHI are the largest affected community by the Covid-19 virus and the main issue for the residents of these slums is HUNGER as many of them have lost their earning members. So they need food and counselling to motivate them to make efforts to sustain themselves on their own. Our organization is distributing Food, Grocery-kits and study books/study materials in these colonies and our volunteers are motivating these poor to care for medical guidelines. However, our organisation's main mission is the welfare and rehabilitation of the homeless elderly. Secondly, we are interested to work for the women-empowerment, environment protection and child education. 
 During the period from CORONA Crisis w.e.f. 10.04.2020 to date we have distributed 2,235 Packets of Grocery-Kits, 20,870 packets of ready-to-eat Food, 2,20,250 Masks, 2,310 bottles of Sanitizers, 9,300 pcs. of Dettol Soap, Books and other study materials to 865 students in different jj colonies i.e. Kali Basti (Uttam Nagar), JJ Colony, Block-A1(Uttam Nagar), JJ Colony, Block-A2(Uttam Nagar), JJ Colony (Kakrola), JJ Colony, (Khayala), JJ Colony (Hastsal), JJ Colony(Raghubir Nagar).
