“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. CARE was registered in 2009 as a non-profit voluntary service society in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, South India. CARE was a need based awakening by a group of like-minded people to help the needy in times of urgency. Guntur and nearby districts’ socio-economic and educational conditions were so backward and had never experienced voluntary service or any of such development facilitating support. Seeing this, we thought and decided to support the people and the areas through a process of participatory aspects – CARE and rural people-collective works for own development. But the “elixir of life” with minimum purity for a good living is denied to many of our own people! A ST colony (Lambadi &amp; Chenchu) that has 54 families and 296 populations has no drinking water source they use salty and contaminated water for living. The hamlet is situated in an alienated location by everyone surrounded by logged waste water from nearby townships. 
 CARE is mainly taking-up projects that are aiming at the sustainable solutions to the rural areas and lives basic needs; not merely “empowerment” or “development”, when there are humans being that need basic life needs, what is the stand for “empowerment” when there is no even ‘basic needs’ development”. We are committed to offer, work and dedicate for “life’s basic needs” to them who have not even those needs like drinking water, education and other life-basics. We are committed to the same cause and here we plan to arrange safe drinking water supply with cost-effective level of sustainable source of drinking water, health &amp; hygiene knowledge sharing through community structure among them. 
 • Formed 3 CBOs towards water, sanitation and village development• Dug 1 bore well, erected 1 concrete tank and laid 20 pipelines providing safe-drinking water to 296 populations of 54 families. • Capacitated and educated people on health, water, sanitation • Reduced drudgery of working women for water reduced the risk of water-borne diseases among the all age groups, but particularly among the children.• Reduced water wastage, open place defecation and polluted water-usages• Paved a unique way for a common platform of social bonding through CBOs towards oneness and collective exertion for development in future.
