The population of senior citizens is increasing as life expectancy is increasing. Families in urban areas are becoming nuclear and smaller, as a result of which there are fewer people available in the house to provide care and comfort to the ageing.Due to the increase in number of the elderly population their needs and problems are increasing too. There are many senior citizens who are without any financial support and are living below the poverty line. There are senior citizens with small pensions but most of it goes for medical treatment and hardly anything is left for nutritional support. For such needy senior citizens, Dignity Foundation has started Ration Service. The needy elderly are given dry rations for sustenance every month. The senior citizens are then tracked through home visits.The elderly deserve dignity in their last days and a little support can help them with the dignity they deserve. 
 Dignity foundation ration service’s main aim is to provide at least one day’s full meal to elderly person or couple for full month. Dignity foundation with the help of our volunteers conduct camps or surveys in Slum areas of Mumbai and find out elderly person or couple, who are suffering from food storage due to financial in balance. Ration service is provided, if that elderly person or couple fits to beneficiary criteria. Our monthly ration service consider of:- Atta–5kg,Rice–3kg,Sugar–1kg,Tur dal–1kg,Tea–250gm,Cooking Oil–2ltr, Moong full 500gm, Salt–1kg,Poha–500gm,Rawa–1kg 
 Dignity Foundation wants to evaluate the results of its programs by assessing the increase in various indicators, such as increase in nutrition levels (based on self reported daily calorie consumption), or by improvements in medically assessed indicators (like weight, weight-to-age, weight-to-height ratios, CBC indicators etc).

India today in the midst of the second wave of the COVID-19 faces what is called a beyond crisis point. Never in the history of centuries has it faced a more helpless situation with people dying in record numbers in the stranglehold of the pandemic that runs riot and the most worst afflicted in this crisis are the Senior citizens residing in the urban slums who although being the most vulnerable, remain placed at the least priority and thereby are most deficient respective to resources. Many senior citizens, especially migrants, cannot avail Govt. relief packages as they lack documents like ration card, etc. We witness fear and panic of impending death in their lives, not only due to the infection but also hunger with their displaced daily-wage jobs and meagre savings. 
 Dignity Foundation that has its permanent presence in the six cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune, has been reaching out with immediate support to urban-poor senior citizens. Dry Ration/Sanitisation Kits:Through our Ananda Daan initiative, we have so far supplied 6000+ Ration &amp; Sanitization Kits in urban slum to the elderly as they tend to live in overcrowded slum settlements and share common amenities like toilets. Promotion &amp; facilitation of Vaccination:To break the chain of transmission, we have been promoting COVID-19 vaccination through supporting its registration, transportation and providing appropriate and authentic information.However, we have only reached a tiny fraction of senior citizens in need. We are urgently raising funds to extend support to thousands more.   
 In the next 3 months, Dignity Foundation seeks to distribute 20,000 Ration and Sanitisation Kits to senior citizens across 6 cities along with enabling vaccination for 5000 Senior Citizens.
