The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. Don Bosco Navjeevan (DBN) came into existence in Chandigarh in 2001 and it was registered in 2008. It is a nonprofit organization with 12 A and 80 G. It has FCRA registration too.It is registered with Niti Aayog. Don Bosco Navjeevan society reaches out to four nearby states, namely: Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. DBN makes interventions in various areas like Education, Health, Skill Training, Drug De-addiction program, Women Empowerment, Child-Friendly City Initiative, etc. DBN has won much appreciation from the government and the public. In 2019-2020 DB N was judged the best NGO by the Social Welfare Board. DBN has become one of the best NGOs working with Psacs(Punjab State Aid Control Society. in 2019-20.Under education, DBN runs Balawadies for the migrant children in slums and the colonies. It also runs 10 remedial class centers in different parts of Chandigarh for the underprivileged children. We run NIOS( National Institute of Open Schooling) for school dropouts so that they can complete class X and XII. We run a Degree program for girls who are from poor families. We provide skill training in three domains to youth from weaker sections of society. We conduct medical camps, Awareness camps, for the people,especially children in villages and slums. We provide nutrition to children. We support the government in making the city more child friendly by making Children's parliaments, working for addressing children's issues, etc. During this Covid-19 period, DBN had gone out of its way to provide rations to 1000 families, Protective pieces of equipment to Doctors, hospital staff, and Policemen. We are looking for more support and fund to reach out to more needy people and hospital staff and hospitals.

Covid-19 has affected all of us but in a special way the poor especially the migrants. Most of these migrant workers are daily wage earners and workers. They have lost jobs, no money with them, no ration with them. Many of them and thier family members are starving or do not have sufficient food to eat. This is affecting their health especially of children. Children are becoming physically weak and mentally disturbed and so they need both nutriton as well as counselling. There is also another section of the society which are affected and they are the hospital staff and police on duty. Many of them do not have proper safety kits. They are much exposed and are at risk. They badly need sufficient sanitation materials and PPe kits take care of them so that they can serve the poeple without fear. Yet another worrying thing that we notice these days that many stary dogs, cows and other animals are starving and in a miserable condition. We need to reach out to these poor animals too. After this covid-19 experience many of the people especially children will be affected and so they need lots of hlep to bring them back to normal and healthy life like nutrtion, counselling, activities etc. 
 provide nutrition, ration, sanitation materials to poor migrants, marginalised people of the place, vulnerable children and so on. To provide PPE kits to hospital staff and also to provide sanitation materials and safety materials like sanitizers, masks, gloves, PPE kits to police, volunteers, hospital and paramedical staff etc. To reach out to children who are suffering with counselling, home activities, books etc. Also to reach out to animals which are starving due to lack of people on the road. To reach out to the elderly with food, sanitation materials etc. Once the lock down is lifted we would like to rebuild the health of chidlren though nutrition, outdoor acitivities etc. We would also like to organize helath camps, awareness camps for the poeple who are living in slums and colonies. 
 No people starve at least in three slums of Chandigarh. No senior citizen starve or lack medicine in 10 sectors of Chandigarh or in the South Zone of Chandigarh. No animals go with out food in at least two wards of Chandigarh. Poeple get back to normal life with out psychologically being affected by this lock down experience. Social life and education to resume after the lock down with due precautions .
