For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. “What will happen to them after me? I am 80+. I spend sleepless nights,” worries ex-Air Force officer, Group Captain AC Barua while talking about the future of the 28 destitute women under his care. “They have nobody in this world, sometimes they don’t remember their own names. They are absolutely alone,” he informs us as he goes from one room to the other meeting all the women who live at Seneh, the only home where they are loved and taken care of. After fighting for his country all his life, this octogenarian is now fighting to rescue homeless and abandoned women from dying on the streets. But he cannot do it alone. “Everyday I keep on getting calls from here and there. ‘Oh! there’s a woman lying here. Can you help?’ But I don’t dare to go and help because I don’t have the money. I don’t have the resources, our resources are very limited,” explains Gr. Capt. Many times these are women with mental health conditions and considered being a witch due to superstitious beliefs and beaten up as a result. They are victims of domestic abuse or widow mothers who are considered to be a burden on the family. Group Captain Barua has not only rescued them from critical conditions, he has provided them with urgent medical care, food and above all, a free safe shelter where they can live with love and care. Among these residents is Sarala Kalita who fled to save herself from the tortures of her alcoholic husband only to face neglect and trauma from her brothers- and sisters-in-law. “Both my brothers and their wives urged my father to leave me somewhere as they didn’t want to take care of me anymore. One day my brother’s wife didn’t even let me have food at home. She just wanted me to leave and go away. So that’s why, my father got in touch with Seneh through someone, and handed me over to Sir to take care of me,” says Sarita who has found joy in living at Seneh. “Coming to Seneh, it felt like I got a new life altogether. Sir has given me a harmonium. I love singing. It makes me forget everything and takes me to someplace else entirely,” she adds. More women like Sarala can find their way to a loving home like Seneh. All they need is a little bit of your kindness. “It is difficult to make both ends meet”To sustain their daily expenditure, Capt Barua needs approx ₹3 lakh a month and arranging the funds is a mammoth challenge for the NGO. “Our expenses are growing day by day. Residents are growing older, their sicknesses are increasing. At times we have to give them special food. They require more care so we have to get more employees. About half of them require leading around, 1-2 has to be fed also. Zalar kachaba Talav (Turtle Lake)Village: Rampura Chhota, Dhanera- 385310. Dist: Banaskantha, State: GujaratLocation: 1 km far from Dhanera on Raniwada (Raj) Highway.There are more than 6000 turtles in this lake and due to loss of water of lake their lives in danger. Many turtles die daily and some miscreants indulge in smuggling them conveniently as the lake is situated near the road. 
 We came to know about this issues on April 30th, 2020 and started pouring water by tractor and tanker from nearby bore wells since May 1st, 2020.On May 1st, 2020 we poured 52 tanker water to dried lake. And till now daily 10-12 tanker water is poured to maintain water level to help the turtles, insects, small micro organism, birds and animals to survive.On May 23rd, 2020 Nilesh Rajgor (president of Green Global Brigade Guj. State) honored all supporters and volunteers who works for saving lives of turtle with Sindur and Pipal Plants. We will continue this operation till it rain and we plan to dig a new bore well of 300 meter near to lake. 
 We want to dig a lake to conserve more water during rainy season and plan to plant more than 1,000 trees nearby and on border of lake to conserve water level in summer and make wire corridor to stop smuggling of turtles.The water will help the turtles, their kids, small micro organisms, birds and animals to drink water and to survive.Turtles, even at diminished population levels, play an important role in ecosystems by maintaining healthy sea-grass beds and coral reefs, providing key habitat for other marine life, helping to balance marine food webs and facilitating nutrient cycling from water to land.

In every small and big occasion, the prepared food is too much and it is wasted.Since the cooking staff is in a hurry and the utensils have to be emptied, the food is often thrown away or buried by digging a pit.This can lead to the misuse of expensive food.And if the food thrown in the garbage is eaten by stray animals, they are likely to get various diseases. 
 We have designed a vehicle called Akshayarath, which aims to collect food grown on social occasions and distribute it to needy slum dwellers.The cost of making this Akshayarath is approximately Rs. 5 lakhs and its maintenance cost will be Rs. 2 lakhs per annum.It has collected food for more than 78 occasions in just 3 months and delivered it to needy families. 
 Which has saved the food of those poor families, their main fuel like wood has been saved. So that our natural resources are also protected.And poor families don't have to make dinner that day.

In Banaskantha district, there are many daily earning working class who support their families with their daily income. In such a situation, if the head of the family who is an earner becomes a victim of corona, then this condition of the family becomes very pitiable. The family is quarantined at home by the system and the government and in this situation it becomes very difficult to support the family.The family did not get two meals a day, the young children did not have milk to drink.In this situation the family goes or think to do suicide. 
 The Edufun Foundation Trust will find the family and help them with a full ration kit for one month, the required amount of cash.
