“I used to be sexually abused repeatedly, and when I screamed in pain, they hit and threatened me with more violence,” says Priya (name changed), a rescued child sex worker. Priya was abducted by traffickers and sold into a red-light area house before she was rescued by Guria led by Manju. For over two decades, Manju has been rescuing young girls forced into prostitution across the country. She has been shaken to the core seeing some of the most horrifying crimes that young girls have to undergo. “You can’t imagine the state of girls forced into sex work. The girls are given electric shocks and burnt with cigarette butts just to get kicks out of it. And if they get pregnant, the "owners" kick them repeatedly in the womb so that the child inside dies…If you want to see hell, it is here on this planet where young girls are sexually abused,” says Manju.Manju needs your help to rescue more young girls from forced prostitution and reunite them with their families. Donate now.Guria’s work over the yearsBased out of Varanasi, inarguably the holiest place in India, Manju and her organisation Guria, fights the sexual exploitation of girls, especially minors, by taking on the traffickers head-on, and rescuing and rehabilitating them.Started in 1993, Guria has rescued over 5500 persons from slavery, sex trafficking, and child prostitution so far. It has also been instrumental in shutting down hundreds of places that housed trafficked girls and putting scores of traffickers out of business and in jail.For instance, in 2005, a Guria-led rescue operation in Varanasi's red-light area led to the freeing of 49 women and girls, including minors. Many of them were kept against their will. Some of the traffickers were also arrested and tried. Since then, Guria has rescued thousands of young girls.Manju and her husband, Ajeet Singh began rescuing girls from Varanasi’s red-light areas and then working to stop the sex-trafficking of young girls within Uttar Pradesh and outside. The organisation’s aim is to eliminate the sex trafficking of women, especially minor girls, end second-generation prostitution and child prostitution, and rehabilitate women and girls who are rescued from the trade. Manju has faced violent backlash from the traffickers and other vested interests, but it has not deterred her from carrying on rescuing young girls from trafficking. Rescue and rehabilitationBesides rescuing girls trafficked for sex, mostly from low-income families, from across the country, Guria fights on their behalf in courts and also provides education, food, vocational training, and other facilities until they are united with their families. But because of a lack of funds, Guria is finding it difficult to rescue more girls and also take care of them once they are away from the clutches of the traffickers. Take the case of Sameena (name changed), who was abducted from Uttar Pradesh all the way to Telangana. Guria took it upon itself to rescue the girl with the help of its own work and also the authorities. After months of rehabilitation, Sameena went back to her family and even completed her education. In India education is still a distant dream for millions of children and in our area too. Our target area Villupuram district comes under the Tamilnadu state. In this district, the majority of the people depend on agriculture and agricultural occupation for their income. But India’s agriculture is dependent on rain too much, and in the absence of adequate irrigation facilities, as much as 70% of the cultivation in our area looks to rain for water supply. But rains in India are inadequate, uncertain and irregular. Hence, this makes agriculture an uncertain occupation. The rains keep our target district drought for a decade.People don’t have other opportunities and they suffer a lot with their big families. So in nature, education in these communities has remained beyond the reach of their children. Poverty, family illiteracy, lack of resources and social backwardness are the major contributing factors. In our area, nothing has been done for the improvement and upliftment of the poor Community. So the majority of the people in our target area are backward socially, educationally and economically. So our area people are living in most miserable conditions devoid of essential facilities of life especially they don’t have much education due to the absence of any support system. So, our target area’s illiterate, poverty-ridden Tribal and rural Dalit poor parents do not wish to educate their children, because they think that investment in education for their children is considered a mere waste of time and resources and most worrisome is girls' education.  
 Due to all the above reasons, they are unceremoniously denied the opportunity to get basic knowledge and literacy skills. The majority of our area's Tribal and Dalit children were out of school or working/helping their parents in domestic work/agricultural fields. So, we wish to give education through Door Step School (school on the wheel). It attempts to take education to Out-of-School children who dwell on the very fringes of society, so as to remove/solve the existing problemsPLAN OF ACTION:We have constructed a school for poor Dalit and tribal children in Paravour village, Vannur Taluk, Villupuram district. Tamil Nadu, South India, with the support of M/s Lotus Flower Trust, U.K. We have constructed a school of 10000 sqft with 14 classrooms and one small office room. We are operating the school since the academic year June 2016. Now we have 150 children, and most of the parents are willing to send their children to our school.Aims and Objective of the Project: Ø To improve the literacy rate among Dalit and Tribal children Ø  To identify, mobilize and enrol all the eligible children in the school at the beginning of the academic year.Ø  To initiate the community to advocate for tribal and Dalit girls to have access to education.Ø  To increase the access of Tribal and Dalit children to education.Ø  To change the life condition of poor tribal and Dalit children through education.Ø Enter into the bright future for Dalit and tribal children.Ø  To improve the hygiene in and near the schools 
 The long-term output: The educational status of Tribal and Dalit children to be improved. Short-term outputs:Ø Tribal and Dalit children enrolled in the school.Ø The awareness of the community to encourage and support the Tribal and Dalit children increased.Ø Providing milking goats/milk animals for each child's family for generating income and utilising the money for their children's education.
