“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. While Lalitha has also helped many women escape the clutches of being forced into sex work, the SPID is focused on rescuing children and giving them a better life.Sadly, many more children need to be rescued and need a loving home. It is the common site in India to see children playing and just staying at home during the day time when their parents go out to earn their living. These unfortunate children have to spend their time unattended &amp; lack nourishment from their family members. Many of them have only rags to wear and do not have enough to eat. They mostly live in a tidy environment &amp; unhygienic conditions but they are the future citizens of our country. If they are groomed properly they can become better citizens.  
 This is the tsunami affected area &amp; people in the village are illiterate families so, they don't know the importance of education. GRAPES has already conducted a door to door campaign &amp; providing counseling in drop out families to send their children regularly for school. GRAPES conducts education program for dropout children in rural, slum &amp; tribal areas on a daily basis &amp; supply nutritious food for attending the same. Doing this activity everyday, we aim to reduce the dropouts from the schools.GOAL: To ensure that all children available in the community attend school &amp; became worthy citizens. To create interest in studies in children from childhood by having a congenial atmosphere. 
 This is a one year program where we aim less dropouts, (-DROPOUTS) and more education (+CONDUCTING TUITION) = CYCLING EDUCATION THROUGH GRAPES.All children in the age of 5 will be attending the school on a regular basis. There will be an attitude change in their parents towards the education. The community will be involved in selecting teachers in their surrounding. Along with education, equal emphasis will be provided on general hygiene and cleanliness of the children. One special day of the week we will conduct singing, drawing, games and other cultural activities.Children will participate according to their interest of choice.

Support underprivileged tribal children for cycling education.

As we are all well aware about the current pandemic situation (COVID-19). We came forward to help to Tribal families who were badly affected. They went to work every day to earn some money to full fill their stomach. But, now due to lock down there is no work for them and it’s been difficult to run their families. The bad thing here is they used to take their children to work with themselves. We (GRAPES) focused on those families to educate the children and currently we are running a couple of tuition centers also. But, taking the current situation into account we decided to distribute dry ration kits to the affected families.Focused Area: Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh 
 Following COVID Protocols, We (GRAPES) are planning to distribute Dry Ration Kits to the affected families.
