For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Adding to this one of the major problem in the area is low literacy rate especially among women. Parents has biased attitude towards girls education as an outcome of gender biasness predominant in the area. Schools are grappling with problems of quality and the improper functioning in the schooling system.Girls do not have much say in decision making choices and in general girls drop out of schools. Since they live in remote areas and parents are daily wage earners or temporary migrants, girls are forced to discontinue schooling to stay behind to perform household chores or look after their siblings while parents are away for livelihood. As per baseline data 2019, 5.2% girls drop out of school between 4th to 8th standard in the villages of Sambhar Block, Jaipur. 
 To improve learning outcomes improvement at primary level and promote successful transition to upper level. Supporting the children with learning gaps in achieving age appropriate learning levels. Creating a culture of reading and creating a print rich environment. sensitize parents on importance of elementary education Primarily the Education Coordinator and community mobilizers will be orientated on the issues to be used during family visits. They will conduct family visits and provide effective counselling to parents and caregivers about the quality education for children and ensuring their participation in providing quality education.GCK provides assistance in the form of school supplies to poor female students, in order to check the number of dropouts and encourage education of the girl child.The beneficiaries are chosen based on recommendations by village-level organizations.The final selection happens after physical verification.Benefits can be given at any point of time in a year and all items are given at once.

Gram Chetna Kendra-working in of Sambhar Block of Jaipur district, Rajasthan. Presently, it operates in 20 villages. Total population in the the area is 25808 persons which includes 12608 female and 13200 male population. Children between 6-14 years age are 5193 (20.12%) of the total population of the project villages. The targeted block is a backward area of the district. The BPL population is about 12870 (52%). in the area does not have any industry or factory. The families are dependent on agriculture, animal husbandry and daily labor. Most of the agriculture is rain fed, irrigation facilities are very limited. The region comes under semi desert and part of drought prone area. Due to continuous scarcity of rainfall during last couple of years the main source of water (i.e. wells, ponds and tanks) has dried up. Thus, production of crops has been reduced and acute shortage of drinking water emerged. There is huge migration of entire families during the lean period. The district headquarter is about 60 kms far from target villages.most of girls have not basic school supplies and toiletries so they are school drop out. 
 GCK provides assistance in the form of school supplies to poor female students, in order to check the number of dropouts and encourage education of the girl child.• The beneficiaries are chosen based on recommendations by village-level organizations.• The final selection happens after physical verification.• Benefits can be given at any point of time in a year and all items are given at once. 
 in the sambhar block we have conducted baseline survey and find 606 girl school drop out. after the program the girls will linked and re enrolled in the school and improve in care, hygiene.

All the villages surrounding to Sambhar Salt Lake which influences the flora &amp; fauna of the area. The Salt Lake is famous in the country basically for the salt production. The region comes under semi arid zone and drought prone area. Due to continuous scarcity in rainfall during last couple of year’s wells, ponds and tanks have been dried up. Thus, production of crops has been reduced and acute shortage of drinking water also emerged. The population in the area consists of marginal farmers, agricultural laborers, daily wage loborers and people engaged in animal husbandry. Most of the population live under below poverty line while the scheduled caste and nomadic indigenous people dominate the percentage of population in the area. Employment opportunities for youth (both male &amp; female) in the proposed area is miserable. For getting daily wages, youth are traveling to Jaipur (the only place to get a wage) every day and spending a major part of their income in travel. But for female youth, there are no options left for getting livelihood opportunities.  
 It is found during one study in our project areas that most of the youths and males are travelling to Jaipur city to work in electrician shops and building construction wiring work. Many of the youths are involved in to this kind of work without having any skill and sometimes they are being facing different kinds of hazardous and accidents are also occurring. So it was GCK’s effort to search those who are working in to this kind of sectors and train them in basic electrician and domestic wiring work so that they can at least work at their local level by opening their own shops and can repair small things like fans, cooler and domestic wiring etc. If the person will be trained in this course then safety can be practiced while working in this sector and their live will not be in danger. The person will work properly and efficiency in work will achieve. So GCK aims to train those unskilled youths to become self reliant and income can be generated at the local level.  
      youth are trained in trades in accordance to market demand. trained youth in appropriate trades will generate alternate options for livelihood in the area. It will reduce the vulnerability of migration of youth and families to other parts of the country.  It will increase women’s participation in income generation activities; which will strengthen family economy.     Youth are employed and started earning resulting in livelihood security of families.

Due to scanty rainfall during the monsoons, the area comes under the drought prone region of the Rajasthan State. The groundwater levels in this region have gone lower and with scanty rainfall bore wells used for drinking water are at a depth of 325ft.The fluoride content in the water found in this area is very high due to which most people do not have access to safe drinking water. Any economically poor family is unable to expense a huge amount for a bore well. As such, they need to depend on storage of rain water or purchase water or travel 2 to 3.5 kms to carry a bucket of water every day.Family members (especially women) are going for a long distance for fetching water from a distance place, which is time consuming by neglecting other household work. In rainy seasons, they could not store water for use at the time of basic requirement. This water tanks are very much essential for them to save water in rainy season. Whole family engages in this kind of venture and children have School dropout and drop out are a common phenomenon.  
 The construction takes approximately 15 days:• The beneficiaries procure all the material required for construction and hire the labour for construction and plumbing. • They then produce the bills, which is then reimbursed by the organization. • The beneficiaries manage labour for covering the tank (roof of the tank). • The organization creates awareness that after the construction of the water tank, beneficiaries will be able to store roof water during rainy season and drinking water from tankers at minimum rates and also store large volume of water supplied by Government during the summer or when there is a need. The construction benefits 5-6 families in the neighbourhood. • The land usually belongs to one family, but they will be required to share the water with their neighbours.• The construction is made so that neighbouring families are free to use the water when the need arises. • These families will collectively contribute to the refilling and maintenance of the water tank. Hence this construction serves close to 45 members in one neighbourhood. • The tank is a standard size with a depth of 10 feet and a diameter of 4.75 feet.  
 Main goal of the program is to provide a Rainwater harvesting (Tanka) to a poor family to store safe drinking water. After the construction of Tanka, families can store roof water during rainy season or they can store drinking water in other days by filling through tankers at minimum rates or they can also store large volume of water supplied by Govt. in summer. As a result, they can save a large part of their time. The construction is beneficial to 5-6 nearby families. The construction is so made that nearby families are free to use it as per their need. These families will collectively contribute in refilling and maintenance of the water tank.Village Committee is formed and it plays a key role in the construction of the tanka (Rainwater harvesting). The tankas constructed in the villages are recommended by village committee. In rainy seasons these tankas are used for storage of rain water (harvesting) in turn used for cooking food and drinking water. In other days the village committee gives guidance like monitoring and selection process to the villagers.
