Our volunteers were able to rescue that girl and bring her to the Blind Welfare Society home for girls. We cared for her and educated her. Over 50 million people suffer from various physical disabilities in India. Despite this fact, most of them can’t pursue an ordinary life as there is a lack of disabled-friendly policies and infrastructure in schools and offices of employment.These children not only need disabled-friendly education and living facilities but also better options for vocational skills so they have the chance to become self-reliant. 
 We run hostel facilities at our rehabilitation centre for disabled young students where they receive meals, medical aid, sports facilities as well as financial assistance for special coaching classes. For those who are soon to complete their education, we also offer vocational training in various skills to help them find well-paying jobs.Furthermore, we have a formal school established for disabled children who come from rural areas. Many of them stay at our hostel as they come from far off villages. 
 This project will provide accommodation and other necessary facilities to 90 disabled students. If these students receive adequate support in completing their studies, they are more likely to find meaningful jobs and become economically and socially independent.

A number of disabled children in rural areas abandon school at an early age because the curriculum and infrastructure are not disabled-friendly. Once they leave school, their options are increasingly limited in becoming empowered citizens. 
 Our formal school in Kolhapur caters to the educational needs of hundreds of disabled children. Free hostel facilities, healthy meals, expenses for educational supplies and transportation services are provided. For those who need special attention, we also run special coaching classes for them. In addition, our school curriculum pays special attention to teaching English as it forms an important part of today’s communication in any job sector. 
 This important project will raise funds to bear the expenses of schooling and other facilities for 450 children with disabilities.
