“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. Since the second wave of COVID-19 hit, over 1. 47 lakh people in Maharashtra have lost their lives to the virus. Reports of children being left alone following the untimely demise of their parents due to the pandemic started pouring in from all corners of the State With the support of donors like you, we were able to support more than 132 such children across the District who lost their parents during COVID-19, in continuing their education. With both the Centre and State governments taking initiatives to support these children, many of them were linked with welfare schemes. However, there are still 97 such children who would require support for at least another time These children are identified by state governments and district administrations and the list has been shared with Jivhala Sanstha, seeking support.Similarly, due to the economic situation, thousands of Neglected children in slum areas are deprived of education and vulnerable and they have to do child labour for their livelihood.  
 Jivhala Sanstha aims to help 97 children orphaned by the Covid epidemic and Neglected children in slums who need care for some time before being linked with government schemes and other welfare schemes.550 rupees per month is required to fulfil the educational and some basic needs of such children who are deprived of education, so we request you to help them with a generous hand for a brighter future. 
 Funds raised will be used to support 97 children who have lost their parents (or earning parents) due to Covid-19 and Neglected children in slums. These funds will ensure that all these children can continue their education and stay safe.
