Leading India for Equality (LIFE), is registered under the Trust Act and has been functioning in Salem District since 2005. It has a board of trustees who are actively involved in social and developmental activities for the poor and underprivileged, marginalized community in Salem District. LIFE trust has been providing care to those people who have nobody to take care of themselves. LIFE Trust provides care to those who are shelterless, are mentally retarded, aged and distressed, dying on the roadside, as well as the unclaimed dead bodies on roads and hospitals. LIFE Trust has strong collaboration with Police Department of Salem City and Salem Rural and work with them whenever they have unclaimed dead bodies with them. The aim of LIFE Trust is to give dignified death last rituals to those who died as abandoned and had nobody to take care of them. The LIFE Trust has buried 1773 unclaimed dead bodies since 2010. The trust has no strong funding support and financial back-up to continue its service with the same zeal. Though many of the benefactors are supporting LIFE Trust, the trust requires constant funding support to provide the same kind of service to those who are in need.

 The old aged people who were abandoned during their last breaths were picked up with the help of police and corporation and revenue deportment and public volunteers gave them shelter and buried them due respect with honorable funeral procedures. We feel that this activity is a basic need as so many unclaimed bodies are not properly buried with basic respect and are often left unattended. 
 It creates a social awareness amongst volunteers and public when they see the dead bodies of these people being buried. It inspires people to take care of their old parents, and to never abandon them.
