For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. But most people walk past them without a second glance. “Like this”, Dr. Bhagat explains, “many elders die on the roads.”Since 2003, SHEOWS (Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society) has rescued over 10,000 elderly people from the streets and given them a home with care and support. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. Narayan Seva Sansthan’ is a non-profit Charity Organization established in the year 1985 with a fistful of flour and with a view to serve the patients belonging to the physically and economically disadvantaged sections of the society through the free-of-cost corrective surgeries of patients suffering from polio and other congenital disabilities. The headquarters of the organization is at Udaipur city in the state of Rajasthan, India. The organization has hospitals with a capacity of 1100 beds, where patients from all over the country and world visit for their respective polio-related treatment and corrective surgeries. Till date, we have successfully conducted more than 417500 free-of-cost polio corrective surgeries of several patients, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, etc.

The issue that we are supporting here is the hunger that the daily wage labors have to face on a daily basis as they are unemployed during the lockdown. They earn daily and feed their families as per their daily earnings, and if they are unemployed their entire family suffers from hunger. The lockdown is imposing worst case scenario upon them where they can neither go out for work nor to ask for help, they are stuck in their homes without food or any other basic necessities. Many such people are stuck away from their homes and many are in their homes in remote areas where there are no facilities to buy things even if they have money. All these people are in desperate need of help in this ever-extending lockdown.  
 Our major focus is on distribution of meals and food supplies for the needy. We are distributing cooked meals every day to those who need them the most. We are also distributing ration kits with food supplies and other necessities like soaps. Apart from these initiatives we are producing masks for distribution and sanitizing localities to ensure that Corona Virus spread is reduced. These masks are stitched by Divyang sewing students of our sewing academy every day, and are distributed among those who cannot afford them. Till date we have been able to distribute over 74000 meals, 38000 masks and 1650 ration kits under this campaign. All of these efforts are put together by our volunteers and team who are all putting their safety and well being at a risk for this cause.  
 The impact that want to create is simple, we want more and more such people to be well fed during this time of distress. We are targeting to support 5000 families of daily wage laborers, not only through lockdown but even after that. We are serving the meals in the government people where the homeless people and the migrating labors are being put and the ration kits are distributed in slum areas and remote villages. Overall, we are attempting to make this lockdown easier and safer for the people who are forgotten by many especially during hard times.

Corona Relief Seva

There are millions of people with special needs in India who are unable to afford the necessary care and assistive appliances, such as artificial limbs. These individuals are often unable to work or participate in daily activities, leading to a lack of independence and a lower quality of life. This can have a devastating impact on their emotional and physical well-being, as well as their ability to support themselves and their families. In addition, it can lead to a feeling of isolation and a lack of belonging in society, as these individuals are not able to access the same opportunities as their peers. 
 Our campaign aims to raise money to distribute 1,000 artificial limbs to those with disabilities in India who are in need. The highly qualified team at our laboratories designs high-quality assistive prosthetics and artificial limbs and maintains production standards to increase patient safety, comfort, and mobility. As part of the program, we will organize camps in various cities in order to reach a large number of differently-abled people and provide them with the necessary treatments, artificial limbs, and callipers. Additionally, we will provide training and support to ensure the proper use and maintenance of artificial limbs. 
 By giving people with impairments the opportunity to move, work, and engage in daily activities, we want to improve their quality of life. This will increase their independence and overall quality of life and allow them to become active members of their communities. Additionally, by providing training and support, we aim to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of artificial limbs, making the impact of our campaign sustainable. Furthermore, we wish to develop nationwide awareness related to our causes so that more and more people can receive help if they are in need.

Limb for Life

There are many people in India who are differently abled and they cannot afford the right treatment &amp; appliances for a better life. We have a free of cost corrective surgery hospital in Udaipur but not all people can reach Udaipur for their treatment. Mahakumbh gives us the platform to reach out to more and more people from all over the country. It not only helps us treat patients who cannot reach our hospital in Udaipur but also enables us to distribute aids &amp; appliances and artificial limbs. 
 In the holy gathering of Kumbh Mela, Narayan Seva Sansthan will set up a temporary hospital amidst the spiritual celebrations from 3rd April to 28th April. This hospital has all the equipments and a highly qualified team to perform corrective surgeries in the camp to help the needy people who reach out. Artificial limbs are also made to measure for the amputees who cannot afford them. Artificial Limb Measurement Camps will be held on the 3rd &amp; 8th of April, 2021 and the Artificial Limb Distribution Camps will be held on the 5th &amp; 12th of April, 2021. Aids &amp; appliance distribution is yet another effort made by the team of Narayan Seva Sansthan to help those in need during the surgical camp in Kumbh. There is also a free food distribution for pilgrims &amp; saints during the camp. 
 With the help of the surgical camp in Haridwar during Kumbh mela, we aim to reach out to the people who cannot reach out to us due to long distance. Also we wish to create nationwide awareness related to our causes so that more &amp; more people where one can get help if they are in need. The distribution of aids &amp; appliances as well as the artificial limbs is to create a positive impact for those who cannot be benefitted with the help of a surgery.

Mahakumbh 2021 Surgery Camp Haridwar

There are millions of people in India who are born with congenital deformities or suffer from injuries that affect their physical appearance, such as abnormal limbs. These individuals often face discrimination and social isolation, which can have a significant impact on their mental health and overall quality of life. Unfortunately, many of these individuals cannot afford the necessary treatment. 
 Our campaign aims to raise funds to perform 2,000 corrective surgeries for individuals with physical disabilities at our hospital. We will organize outreach camps to reach individuals who cannot come to our hospital and provide them with the necessary treatment. Additionally, we will provide all the assistance and care required during their treatment to help them regain their independence. 
 Our goal is to save the lives of 2000 individuals who would otherwise not have access to life-saving medical treatment. By providing timely surgical intervention, we will help these individuals overcome their critical medical conditions and give them a second chance at life. Additionally, our support and assistance during their treatment will ensure that the impact of the surgeries is sustainable, enabling these individuals to lead more productive and fulfilling lives.
