“They insert a candle in the vagina, fingers are inserted (in the vagina) and tortured, and if children don’t relent even then, they put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. Four engineering graduates who were very sensitive to the causes of disparity, exploitation and poverty established Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra in 1971. NBJK runs an orphanage named Lord Buddha Home for Children in Bodhgaya, Bihar. At LBHC currently there are 72 children residing in the home. These children gets all the fundamental things for the overall development of each children. For continuing this program and providing a sustainable back-up, NBJK urges for your support. For each child expenditure of Rs 60000 is done annually including food, fee, transport, health, counselling, salary of project staff etc. 
 Apart from safe and secured atmosphere, they are provided with quality food, education in renowned public schools, health facilities, counselling and recreational facilities. NBJK is dedicated for fulfilling the needs of these these children and make them self-empowered. At LBHC, there are 7 homes, being looked by 1 mother and in a house there are 10 children staying together in a homely atmosphere. Full time counsellor and a team of dedicated staffs are there to care them. They study in good schools, getting tuition facilities and entertainment. 
 Overall growth of the children is our aim at LBHC. We ensure that they develop close bonding with the house mother, their co-mates and learn good values in the home. They receive ample of opportunities apart from schooling. In every occasion these children participate in quiz competitions, cultural programs and develop their confidence. The counselor provides regular counselling to the children and improve their socio-emotional qualities. Some elder children who are in higher classes have been engaged with some vocational & technical training so that they will be self-sustained after completion of their schooling.

Many underprivileged families have lost their main income earner due to COVID 19 thus resulting in total loss of income. The support is solely for those women who have lost their breadwinner and not have any financial support 
 Established in 1971, Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) aims at facilitating a just and egalitarian society through an integrated development approach, with special emphasis on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society including women, children and person with disabilities.NBJK is looking the community-based initiative aims to empower village women to become entrepreneurs through sewing and setting up tailoring shop. The organization identifies particularly marginalized groups of women mobilizes them, trains them in sewing and provides them with a free sewing machine. NBJK then provides handholding and monitoring support to these women for a period of 6 months. 
 Through the support of above mentioned project, women who lost their family income and not able to support her family for daily needs and due to financial crisis they are forced to stop children education, are able to support their family and their children rejoin school and complete there education.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic many people lost their work during 1st and 2nd wave. Even many families lost their bread earner during the pandemic and were not able to earn for daily needs of their family support. They were forced to stop the education of their children.  
 Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) is committed to encouraging the education of girls by providing the required support. NBJK field workers identify girls studying in village Government schools who drop out due to loss of bread earner or their family's economic conditions due to loss of job. Studies show 80% of the girls drop out after primary education due to high education costs. They are also forced to marry at an early age. The field staff works hard to convince their parents to reconsider marriage and to educate their daughters. The program supports close to 200 girls every year. When you support this program, a girl like Puja will be able to go to school, finish her education and help her family break the cycle of poverty. 
 Children who are interested in study received our support will able to continue their study. After completion of school education they may go for higher education and make themselves independent and able to support other family members.
