President of India. West Bengal In Bengal, Parivaar has 2 residential institutions for children (both boys and girls) from vulnerable and poor backgrounds. With more than 1800 children, these are the largest free residential institutions for children from such backgrounds in West Bengal.  Madhya Pradesh 1. Seva Kutirs (Education &amp; Nutrition) : More than 50,000 poor tribal children being provided with good quality supplementary education along with nutritious meals daily. As on date there are 681 Seva Kutirs in operation in as many very poor &amp; remote tribal villages across 15 districts.One Seva Kutir with about 100 children costs Rs 10 lakhs annually , i.e. Rs 10,000 annual per child cost. 2. Four Residential Institutions in Madhya Pradesh - 2 for Boys in Dewas and Mandla districts, and 2 for girls in Sehore and Mandla districts - totalling around 900 children. These are expected to be scaled up year after year.Annual per child cost is about Rs 40,000.  3. Ambulances : 129 Ambulances in tribal areas of 25 districts working 24*7. In the last 20 months, these have served about 1.70 lakh cases.Running 1 ambulance costs us about Rs 7 lakhs annually, serving more than 1000 persons.  4. Vision Restoration - More than 3.92 lakh persons served with general examination, medicines and glasses in more than 2600 eye camps organized in tribal and other rural areas. Out of this, more than 47,000 persons operated for cataract and other eye ailments and their vision has been fully restored. We have covered 34 districts in MP &amp; 1 district each in Uttar Pradesh &amp; Rajasthan in this project Within Rs 1500, 1 eye surgery plus 8 persons' general examination, medicines &amp; glasses is done.  5. Mobile Health Clinics : Running 16 Daily Mobile Health Clinics with doctors in remote and poor areas of 9 districts, which have treated and provided free medicines to more than 6.75 lakh persons in the last 21 months. Patients with severity are taken to higher medical centres as far as AIIMS Delhi, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Gwalior. 1 Mobile Health Clinic costs about Rs 18 lakhs, which serves about 35,000 persons, thus Rs 52 per person cost.  The Projects run by Parivaar are the largest of their kind in India, providing meals and education to more than 50 thousand poor children &amp; serving lakhs of poor tribal persons through its various health projects as outlined above.  Parivaar spent around Rs 76 Cr on all its projects in FY 2021-22. Parivaar has a workforce of 4400 fulltimers called Sevavratees.  Recent Prestigious Awards Conferred on Parivaar(i) 'Madhya Pradesh Gaurav Samman' - State's Highest Honour, was conferred on Parivaar. Parivaar has been running several humanitarian initiatives serving the extremely poor and vulnerable children and communities. This fundraiser is for support towards 2 such activities - Mobile Medical Clinics &amp; Round the Clock Ambulance Service. Parivaar has been running 21 Daily Mobile Medical Clinics with doctors in 982 remote and highly impoverished villages of 8 districts, which have treated and provided free medicines to more than 15 lakh persons since June 2021. Patients with severity are taken to higher medical centres as far as AIIMS Delhi, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Gwalior.Parivaar is also operating 93 Ambulances in tribal areas of 23 districts working 24*7. Since June 2021, these have served more than 3 lakh persons. These cater to patients&nbsp;who need emergency&nbsp;transport to hospitals, which could be anywhere&nbsp;between 20 to 50 kms, in remote forest and hilly terrain.&nbsp;1 Mobile Clinic serves about 30 thousand cases in a year and one Ambulance serves about 700 persons annually. One clinic costs about Rs 15.7 lakhs and 1 Ambulance costs about Rs 9.1 lakhs annually. So in about Rs 24.8 lakhs, 1 Mobile Clinic and 1 Ambulance can be supported for a full year.

Friends, we are delighted to share that we now have 621 Seva Kutir centres in as many villages in selected tribal blocks in 14 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Each of the centres has on an average around 100 children in the age group of 3 to 14 and undergo 5 hours of education, life skills, and overall development, and around 55 thousand children are receiving meals twice a day. in these centres. Besides this, the Seva Kutir platform with 3400 full-time field workers, cluster coordinators, resource persons, district anchors, educationists, teachers, cooks and volunteers – predominantly from the local communities – also enables us in many other activities related to general development and service in these villages. Even after the breakout of COVID in March 2020, we have established 460 new Seva Kutirs. Besides we have launched 89 free ambulances in 19 districts in last 8 months and 11 mobile clinics. We have got more than 1.3 lac people examined and treated in eye care space in 22 districts with more than 18 thousand cataract and rerina surgeries free of cost - all in last 8 months. 600 Parivaar Seva Kutirs reached

We are delighted to announce that we have reached the milestone of 250 Seva Kutirs (meals and education centres) in selected tribal pockets in 8 districts of MP. We now have 67 Kutirs in Sheopur, 30 in Mandla, 45 in Dewas, 42 in Sehore, 28 in Chhindwara, 28 in Khandwa, 7 in Vidisha, and 4 in Dindori. More than 25 thousand children are getting 2 meals and 6 hours of education, life-skills and overall development at these centres. The Seva Kutir platform is also benefitting thousand of local people through many ancillary initiatives for healthcare, vision restoration for elderly, ambulance services, massive fruit tree plantation drives and access and enrolment in government schemes. We have more than 1500 field workers and teachers working in these villages. Every month we are adding 10 to 12 more centres. The local panchayats, block and district administrations remain in close touch with us. We also help in enhancing delivery in local govt schools in each of these villages. Our children also attend the local govt school as the timings of the Seva Kutirs exactly complement the timings of the govt school.One can seehttp://parivaar.org/parivaar_mp_/Recently the state goverment has offered to us to take over many of residential schools and hostels in areas where we operate - an offer we are thinking over as to how best to go about.This whole work has happened in last 3 years. Parivaar started in 2003 and till 2017 it was limited to Bengal where, starting in a rented building with 3 desitute children from a village near Amtala off the diamond harbour road, it scaled to 2 free residential educational institutions having more than 2000 resident children (one campus each for boys and girls). In 2016 we purchased a small piece of land on banks of Narmada in MP, and about 17 acres to build a residential campus for destitute and tribal children on lines of our Bengal institution. Since a residential campus takes time to build and scale it occurred to me to start a couple of centres in tribal villages for field engagement needed for the residential campus in future. These centres were called Seva Kutirs. Scarcely did I know that the Seva Kutirs would become quite a grand program in itself. In 2017 we set up 2 seva kutir, 100 in 2018, 48 in 2019, and even after June as the country witnessed lockdown we have set up more than 50 new centres. In last 2 months we have set up 38 new centres.The Seva Kutir model has been taken well by our supporters too. Three fourths of our funding is from individual supporters, only a quarter from corporate CSR, out of about Rs 30 Cr.The coming years will witness not just expansion of seva kutirs in numbers but many more dimensions than the core delivery will be added to the seva kutir platform. Also we look forward to setting up newer centres in districts of Barwani in the Shoolpani Jhaari area, in Baiga villages of Dindori and Anuppur districts and in Dhar, Alirajpur, and Jhabua districts.Parivaar is driven by austerity and less than 16 persons out of total 1300 in MP and Bengal are remunerated more than Rs 20 thousand monthly. Only 3 more than Rs 30 thousand, and none more than 50 thousand. We make one penny go a very long way with highest efficiency.The scale it has reached is because of contribution of a very large number of our sevavratees and trust reposed in us by our supporters and wellwishers. More than 200 given spectacles and offered medication. Generally; children admitted into Parivaar are from categories like orphans (both whose parents have expired), street and pavement dwelling children, single parent children, children from other backgrounds like where the father has deserted the mother and the child, vulnerable girl child from prostitution-infested areas who are under the risk of being sucked into flesh trade unless equipped educationally.  Starting from the scratch and thereafter developed brick by brick, Parivaar is being continuously developed and molded into a unique institution transforming the lives of each of its residential members (children and adults) and acting as a training ground with highly dedicated life-committed grass root workers.As on 21st March 2023; there are 1850 resident children (950 boys and 900 girls) at Parivaar, making it the largest and high-quality residential program for children from impoverished strata in West Bengal.Parivaar is a humanitarian service organization and at present chiefly working for total care and overall development of different children like orphans, girl child (highly vulnerable to exploitation, victimization, and trafficking), street children, abandoned children, extremely impoverished children from tribal areas at Parivaar Ashram. 
 Children are admitted at a young age of 4 to 10 years into Parivaar Ashram. Each child once admitted into Parivaar, is under the care and custody of Parivaar; till higher education (graduation/post-graduation) and subsequent job placement and settlement into the future phase of life. Generally; children admitted into Parivaar are from categories like orphans (both whose parents have expired), street and pavement dwelling children, single parent children, children from other backgrounds like where the father has deserted the mother and the child, vulnerable girl child from prostitution-infested areas who are under the risk of being sucked into flesh trade unless equipped educationally. A large number of children are from rural areas and highly impoverished tribal areas, where starvation and malnutrition are rampant and daily income per family is much less than 1$. All these children are different though their backgrounds have the common characteristic that they can be armed through education if nurtured in a residential environment with basic amenities where their whole growth and progress can be gradually executed. 
 Starting from the scratch and thereafter developed brick by brick, Parivaar is being continuously developed and moulded into a unique institution transforming the lives of each of its residential members (children and adults) and acting as a training ground with highly dedicated life-committed grass root workers.As on 21st March 2023; there are 1850 resident children (950 boys and 900 girls) at Parivaar, making it the largest and high-quality residential program for children from impoverished strata in West Bengal.Parivaar is a humanitarian service organization and at present chiefly working for total care and overall development of different children like orphans, girl child (highly vulnerable to exploitation, victimization, and trafficking), street children, abandoned children, extremely impoverished children from tribal areas at Parivaar Ashram. 
 Children are admitted at a young age of 4 to 10 years into Parivaar Ashram. In January ’18, The Economist had a cover article on India titled “India’s missing middle class” which had a chilling statistic- Poor diets mean that 38% of children under the age of five are so underfed as to damage their physical and mental capacity irreversibly, according the Global Nutrition Report. The comparable number for Sub-Saharan Africa is apparently lower at 35%. India has the largest number of stunted children in the world, at 48.2 million. In the state of Madhya Pradesh more than 60% children are malnourished. In some impoverished tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh it is as high as 90%.While the enrolment rate in government schools across the country in the age-group of 4 to 14 has increased to more than 97%, the learning outcomes in the specially deprived tribal pockets which are marked by first-generation learners have remained dismal as shown by many reports like the ASER. While the ‘No Detention Clause’ in the ‘Right to Education Act’ coupled with the Mid-Day-Meal Program in Government Schools has ensured that children continue to be enrolled in the Schooling system till age of 14 (Grade 8), there is no effective continuous measurement of learning outcomes. Moreover with government schools running for not more than 150 – 175 days, there is need for alternate supplementing spaces for ensuring better learning, socialization, development of world-view, and civic virtues coupled with value education to the children as they grow up. The Seva Kutirs combines two key themes most crucial for children in interior rural areas in the country – malnutrition and education. 
 Before opening a new Kutir, our team visits the village. Once this is done, the Panchayat sends a letter, inviting the Parivaar team to set up the Kutir. The village community has to invite us and offer a venue free. Usually it is somebody’s house (often a newly built cottage under the PM Awas Yojana), Panchayat building, community hall, school in its non-functioning hours, or even a shed / godown. Thus we do not incur any infrastructure costs for this. A person is appointed to conduct a survey and register all eligible children. Typically, there are 70-120 registered children in every Kutir. Following this, the set-up material is sent to the village and the Kutir begins functioning.Manpower Deployment : All the Kutirs have been classified as per clusters.Every cluster roughly has 5-7 Kutirs and has 2 cluster coordinators. Every Kutir has a staff of at least 6 persons – 3 cooks and 3 teachers. The cooks are mostly local womenfolk from the village itself (the mothers / relatives of the kids attending the Kutirs). Of these, 1 of the cooks is the nutrition anchor and 1 of the teachers is a dedicated pre-primary teacher. We have a total staff of more than 700 teachers and cooks, 15 central staff (including anchors persons in child development, education and nutrition who undertake continuous Monitoring and Evaluation) and 40 cluster coordinators.Our basic strategy for this component of the program hinges on timely identification of malnourished children. This will help us to correct the problem by providing a well-balanced diet and in case of very severe malnourishment; we will also refer cases to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres, setup to tackle such cases. We are creating monthly dietary plans based on the diet needs of the Kutirs in the region as well as the food available. Liasoning with Anganwadi, local health authorities such as ANM, ASHA and CHC/PHC are an integral part of the effort. In addition to this, the plan is to work closely with the operations team to bring a lasting transformation in the cropping pattern and thereby influence food consumption in the region.The nutrition baseline is conducted using the accepted parameters of BMI for children over the age of 5 years and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). 
 More than 50,000 poor tribal children being provided with good quality supplementary education along with nutritious meals daily. As on date there are 681 Seva Kutirs in operation in as many very poor &amp; remote tribal villages across 15 districts.<img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/6cd6b7e8-bce6-48f3-9c25-52856a042910.PNG" style="display:block;margin:auto" />One Seva Kutir with about 100 children costs Rs 10 lakhs annually , i.e. Rs 10,000 annual per child cost.

Parivaar Seva Kutir

Starting from 12th June 2021, we have launched one hundred twenty-three 24*7 Ambulance services across 25 districts in Madhya Pradesh. These are serving tribal pockets of these districts, which are highly underserved areas. The government is highly appreciative of this valuable service which is lacking in these areas. There are only a few government ambulances covering a tehsil/block, which spans more than 1000 sq.km. Because of this, people face huge difficulties in accessing hospitals when they get sick and need treatment. 
 The number of ambulances that we have decided to run in various districts depends on present govt. ambulance services in these areas, accessibility problems and our field and manpower strength across the villages.The ambulances are used in two ways:(i) On-call service: whenever we receive information from the patients’ families or from a hospital, for any urgent need, such as cases of accident, deliveries or serious illness, then the ambulance takes the patient to the hospital. The ambulance reaches their place which is interior villages and then takes them to the hospital. The hospitals are government hospitals at the Block level or District Headquarters, or even the nearest big city if the case requires that.(ii) Cases referred to by our Mobile Clinic: We run mobile clinics also, where we take doctors to the interior villages for health checkup and treatment. They refer patients with chronic illnesses and other serious patients to the District Hospital or the nearest big city hospital. The ambulance takes all these patients to the referred hospital. 
 On a daily basis, one ambulance runs in the range of 100-150 kms, depending on the need and serves 2-3 patients.129 Ambulances in tribal areas of 25 districts working 24*7.
