For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. The states of Bihar and Assam have been struck by massive floods, and a lot of lives are in danger. The floods have widely damaged houses, farmlands, schools, bridges and road links, thereby bringing the region to a halt. Nearly 70 lakh of people have been affected, and thousands of families are forced to take shelter in schools, temporary relief camps, and even on highways. In Assam itself, more than 45 lakh people have been displaced in the 33 districts and 17 deaths have been recorded so far. ASSAM & BIHAR FLOOD RELIEF

A new corona virus named COVID-19 has spread across multiple countries and infected thousands of people. The virus has caused more than 5000 deaths worldwide. In the aftermath of the recent outbreak in India, our team conducted need assessment in multiple locations. Based on the need assessment, there is a dire need for soap, sanitizer, mask etc., to fight against the spread. This resulted to propose a hygiene relief intervention in helping the affected communities to recover from this deadly virus.  
 This project aims to distribute safety &amp; hygiene kits for 6000 underprevillaged families across India. Each kit cost Rs 600 and contains soap, sanitizer, mask, dettol, phenol and handkerchiefs. 
 This project will help us to reachout 6,000 families living in a poor and vulnerable conditions. Around 30,000 people including children, old age will benifit directly through this project.
