The Baale Mane, literally meaning 'Girls Home', is a long-term shelter home for up to 60 girl children between the ages of 6 – 18. The girls at the Baale Mane have suffered hardships in early life. Some are orphans, others have a single parent who is unable to care for them and many have experienced child labour, domestic violence, street dwelling and abandonment.The Baale Mane was founded by the Paraspara Trust in 2001. The Baale is now governed by a board of Trustees in India – The Baale Mane Trust and a separate charitable trust in the UK – The Friends of The Baale Mane Gopalapura. All running costs for the home are raised by the two charitable trusts in India and the UK. The majority of funds are raised through the generosity of individuals with occasional sponsorship from corporations.Baale Mane is dedicated to the care of girls from vulnerable backgrounds such as, domestic violence and child labour. Unlike many other children's homes, Baale Mane aims to provide girls from disadvantaged backgrounds long-term support in an environment that resembles a home, not a hostel. The objective of the home is to give each of the girls a fulfilling and happy childhood and to nurture and resource them so that they may lead a self-sustaining adult life.

Baale Mane provides long-term and holistic care to girls who have been orphaned, abandoned, neglected or subject to abuse or violence. The girls live at our home, go out to local schools and have a packed schedule full of activities! Once they turn 18, they are supported through College until their first job by Baale Mane - setting them up for an independent future. We believe all children have the right to Survival (food, water), Protection (shelter, clothing etc.), Development (education, life skills and care planning) and Participation (extra-curricular opportunities, outings etc.) - and this is what we strive to provide for our girls at the Baale Mane home. 
 This project is to fundraise for the care we provide: 3 healthy, nutritious meals plus snacks each day, clothing and toiletries, health check-ups, opportunities to celebrate festivals and for outings &amp; our care-planning and life skills programme. 
 Our programme nurtures the girls to a brighter future - they grow up healthy, happy and secure in our home and then are resourced with education and work experience to ensure they get a good job. Health &amp; hygiene are a core part of our programme at Baale Mane. Maintaining a high health standard is now more important than ever. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have undertaken increased sanitisation and cleanliness standards to keep the girls at the home safe and happy. We regularly sanitise all the common spaces like the dining hall, bathrooms, and other living spaces. There are sanitisation stations set up across the home. The girls have all been provided with individual reusable face masks and sanitisers. They have also been briefed about COVID-19 by doctors. In turn, our consumption of toiletries and hygiene related products has increased and expanded.Our goal has always been to provide holistic care for the girls at the home.  
 Your donations/funds will help us keep the girls healthy and fit by providing both healthcare for one whole year along with the necessary tools to uphold a high standard of hygiene through cleaning supplies, toiletries.﻿

Support the Health & Hygiene of the Baale girls

The pandemic has devastated the lives of teenage girls by impacting their education, health and hygiene. With this project, the Baale Mane Trust is trying to reach out to girls in Bangalore to support them with nutritious meals, higher education, vocational training, health check-ups and life-skill programmes. ₹650 will cover the health-related expenses of one girl for one month.The COVID 19 pandemic has affected all of us in one way or another. Many have lost loved ones, some have lost livelihoods, and many are struggling to even provide basic food &amp; shelter. We provide long-term, holistic care for all the girls at Baale Mane. The girls stay at the home between the ages of 10 to 18. We would like to expand our impact with your help. We will be able to provide a safe and happy home for girls who have been deeply impacted by COVID, either through loss of family members or extreme economic instability or being in an unsafe situation.  
 This project is to raise much-needed funds help reach more disadvantaged girls who need a safe space. With your help we will be able to take up to 6 new girls. This project aims to cover food, clothing, health, hygiene and other essentials.  
 Baale Mane works to nurture the girls to a brighter future - they grow up healthy, happy and secure in our home. We provide healthy, nutritious meals plus snacks each day, clothing and toiletries, health check-ups, a robust life skills programme, and focussed care-planning. We support the girls through higher education or vocational training. Our goal is to enable them to lead successful, happy and fulfilling self-sustaining lives.

Help Baale Mane support more girls!

This project aims to expand our home, and to provide living, study and recreational space for the Baale Mane girls. The girls are currently staying in very congested dormitories, and we don't have any staff spaces, a sick room and our kitchen is in need of updating. As our girls grow up and we continue to support them into adulthood, the demographics of the home are shifting and we need more space for the older girls to live, study and grow. We would also like to expand and take more girls each year, and we will do this once we have more space. 
 We have planned an extension which will resolve all of these issues, which will cost approximately 50 lakhs, and we are in the process of receiving a detailed quote. We are currently fundraising to raise this amount so we can start the building. We have 35AC approval until March 2017, giving donors 100% tax exemption on their donation. We plan to begin construction by the end of 2017. Invested donors (50,000 INR or above) will receive a leaf on our tree mural displayed on the new building. 
 The immediate impact of the Campus Extension Project will be the improved physical infrastructure of Baale Mane, enhancing the living space for the existing and future girl children at Baale Mane. It will also enable us to expand our reach by catering for 20 more girl children in response to the growing need for our sustainable model for change, as well as providing our staff with better and more private facilities. The project forms part of the wider expansion of Baale Mane, and will ensure that we continue to work towards giving more girl children brighter and independent futures.
