“They insert a candle in the vagina, fingers are inserted (in the vagina) and tortured, and if children don’t relent even then, they put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. And the worst affected are the children who grow up in red-light areas and are subjected to constant abuse and violence. “The sight of a 12-year-old girl being gang-raped by a group of men near a house l haunts me to this date. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care.  The project aims at supporting students by providing Skill Training Workshops, Academic Scholarships, Food, and Positive Value Development to empower these youths with a better character and skillset to flourish individually and socially. Youths need proper career counseling, a healthy lifestyle, and most importantly - character education.We want to set up Youth Welfare Centres at Varanasi and Prayagraj to expand our mission of supporting academic education, skill development &amp; healthy food to needy students at Varanasi and Prayagraj in India. Equipped with all modern amenities, the center will cater to the children of poor laborers in the local region. 
 The envisioned Youth Welfare Center will provide facilities like Seminar Halls to conduct Deaddiction Seminars, a Mega Kitchen for distributing Free Food to the needy children &amp; youth, meeting rooms for counseling, modern classrooms for academic classes, Incubation Center for budding entrepreneurs, Recording Studio for online courses, Meditation Space, etc. 
 This Facility will help students overcome depression and develop a positive outlook towards life and society by the power of Value Education, Meditation, Arts &amp; Culture, and hygienic food. This will also facilitate young minds to nurture their talents and fuel their dreams of making it into successful careers. Every year, thousands of young people in India fall prey to alcohol, drugs, smoking, and tobacco addiction. A survey by Times of India suggests that "9 out of 10 addicts start the intake of addictives while they are in schools and colleges. As per the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, there are 4 vital human needs -1) Physiological needs2) Love/Belonging - Emotional needs3) Professional &amp; Egoistic needs4) Spiritual Needs.These needs when unmet with, cause insecurity, inferiority complex, peer pressure, stress. As an escape from all of this, a person takes to addiction 
 Our project helps facilitate youth and children in meeting their needs in a loving culture through workshops and seminars on anti-addiction and value education, training in positive lifestyle and inter-personal skills, counseling, hostel facility, and skill development, for their overall personality growth with positive values and high professional competence. 
 This project will educate over 1,000 youths and children every year for life-long addiction free and Stress-Free lives, thus making an immensely effective contribution to their families, profession, society, and humanity at large. Over 100 young people shall avail our hostel facilities and skill development training to make the best of their academics and professional lives. Over 5,000 students will get value education courses.

Every Child has a dream and every Youngster has an ambition. At Umeed We aim to add some value to their dreams, their ambitions.Despite so much economic development, some part of the society is still deprived of basic needs like nutritious food, sanitization kits, clothes, etc. and especially during the COVID 19 pandemic this problem got recognized at a national level.The lack of basic amenities put forward an obstacle to the dreams of many individuals. It has even led to many diseases and completely shattered the aspirations of many. Lack of sanitization liquid has led to the spread of COVID19 in many such places. 
 Umeed is helping people in the time of need by providing them food and basic amenities in the form of "Happiness Kits". Weare reaching out to the beneficiaries by collaborating with various Orphanages, Child care homes, girl care homes, old age homes and also going on streets and distributing Happiness Kits to the needy. Many Volunteers organize regular awareness sessions for sanitization and nutrition, especially in economically backward areas. 
 By the end of 2021, we aim at distributing 1,00,000 "Happiness Kits", which would impact almost 10,000 children and youth.1 Happiness kit would comprise of 1kg of rice, 200 gm dal, 2 20ml handwashing liquid sachets, and 1 soap, which would help an individual for 7 days.
