Incorporated in 1989, LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL) is one of the largest Housing Finance Companies in India with a key objective of providing long Read more term finance to individuals for the purchase or construction of house/flat for residential purposes in India. LICHFL also provides finance on existing property for business/ personal needs and also gives loans to professionals for purchase/construction of Clinics/Nursing Homes/ Diagnostic Centers/ Office Space and also for purchase of equipment. The Company also provides finance to builders and developers engaged in the business of construction of houses or flats for residential purpose and to be sold by them.

The Company went public in 1994 and since then its stocks are listed and actively traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE).

    Description

    LIC HFL’s goal is to render quality health care facilities to people, living in the villages and elsewhere, who are underprivileged/economically backward, through projects such as
     Preventing malnutrition among infants and adults,
     Primary health care centers,
     Mother and Child care projects,
     Health camps and Blood donation drives,
     Interventions for promotive, preventive and curative health care for differently abled and major diseases such as cancer, tumor, HIV/AIDS, leprosy, tuberculosis, thalassemia and the like.

    SANJEEVANI
    The core activities of the project intervention include conducting regular visits to villages, providing medical consultations, and dispensing medicines. Organise weekly health camps, offering free health check-ups and consultations, awareness about preventive healthcare, family planning, and communicable diseases, including digitisation, patient registration and health records for efficient management and tracking.

    The core activities of the project intervention include the procurement and installation of 183 pieces of advanced medical equipment in OT and ICU.

    Extended health support to 61,864 individuals, providing vital medical services and resources that have significantly improved the well-being and quality of life for numerous families.   • Enhancing education

    Description

    The company endeavors to eradicate poverty in the long run and to spark the desire for learning and knowledge at every stage through multiple intervention such as
     Promotion of education including non-formal education,
     Balwadis for elementary education
     Girl child education,
     Special education and employment enhancing vocation skills,
     Capital expense in setting public libraries, Sanitation units,
     Enabling financial literacy and remedial education class for weaker students,
     Help in setting up formal schools with proper sanitation,
     Free distribution of books, school uniforms, school bags, foot wears etc,
     Contribution to incubators funded by Central Government or State Government or any
    agency or Public Sector Undertaking of Central Government or State Government, and contributions to public funded Universities, Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Laboratories and Autonomous Bodies such as ICAR, ICMR, CSIR, DAE, DRDO and DST engaged in conducting research in science, technology, engineering and medicine aimed at promoting Sustainable Development Goals. The scope of educational programs aimed at bridging the skill gap, in particular in the Banking, financial services and insurance sectors, and transforming candidates into job-ready professionals.

  • Livelihood enhancement

    Description

    Through this initiative LIC HFL focus on people at the bottom of the pyramid by providing them opportunity for employment in on-farm and non-farm activities that enhances livelihood
    opportunities both in rural and urban areas. The major project initiatives of the focus area can be
     Formation of Self Help Group for marginal famers, women, likeminded people
     Upgrading skills and capacity building of farmers by introducing innovative methods of cultivation and creating market linkages
     Agriculture development through sustainable agricultural practices, organic farming, designing vermin compost, etc.
     Create awareness among farmers of their legitimate margin of their produce and to free them from being exploited by market intermediaries.
     Soft skill training on enterprises/ income generation, aimed to facilitate integration of marginalized into mainstream and soft loans for their enterprises.

    LIFE
    The LIFE project, supported by LIC Housing Finance Limited (LICHFL), spans various regions of India, emphasising sustainable agriculture, community empowerment, and livelihood enhancement. Activities include vermicomposting, goat rearing, micro-enterprises, and vocational training, targeting rural areas to improve farming techniques, diversify income sources, empower women through SHGs, and enhance economic stability and quality of life in communities. The core activities under the project interventions include seed distribution, workshops on crop rotation and intercropping, demonstrations on SRI cultivation, support for backyard poultry, pig, and goat rearing, machinery and training support for women, guidance on water conservation, irrigation, and pest management, market access, mulching, and organic pesticide application.

    Description

    Climate change mitigation and environmental improvements are essential elements of Sustainable living. LIC HFL will initiate multiple projects implemented directly or through implementing partners, to introduce environmental friendly practices. Social media communication will be used as an effective tool in influencing behavior and creating a sustainable environment for the community for example,
     Facilities for generating renewable sources of energy.
     Improving access to water by funding irrigation and water storage structures,
     Promoting public transport by creating appropriate infrastructure,
     Improving watershed development and afforestation
     Preservation and protection of flora and fauna
     Conversation and maintaining quality of natural resources.
     Partnership with Industrial / Vocational Training Institutes.

    Description

    LIC HFL’s would initiate programs that empower the rural/ slum settlement population for upholding life and dignity of human being. The project initiatives will range from providing electrification through solar or alternate methods, improving access to water, healthcare & sanitation, construction & running cost of schools, health centers and enhancing livelihood options.

    The core activities under the project interventions include Agricultural Support through the distribution of quality seeds, provision of modern farming tools, farmers' training on sustainable agriculture, training on soil testing, vermicomposting, and modern pest management, as well as support for poultry and goat farming, veterinary assistance, and financial assistance. Community Development efforts encompass the installation of drinking water stations, solar street lighting, sanitation awareness campaigns, waste management, mobile clinics, and linking to available government facilities. Educational support is provided by introducing smart classes and libraries, teacher training, and the provision of sanitation facilities. Women's Empowerment is promoted through skill development and enterprise initiatives such as tailoring and beautician training, along with the strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Created footprint in 26 states, reaching 1,424 villages and empowering communities. Our dedicated efforts have transformed 67 districts and uplifted 34 aspirational districts, driving meaningful community development and growth.
