Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (Chola), established in 1978 as the financial services arm of the Murugappa Group, began its jour Read more ney as an equipment financing company. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive financial services provider, offering a wide range of solutions including vehicle finance, home loans, loans against property, SME loans, Secured Business Personal Loans (SBPL), Consumer & Small Enterprise Loans (CSEL), loans against securities, and various other financial services.

    * Raahi - Truckers Eye Health Program - A flagship initiative by Chola designed to provide eye care services to Commercial Vehicle Crew Members (CVCMs), ensuring better vision and overall eye health for this vital workforce.

    * Little Hearts - Offers free heart surgeries for children of CVCMs suffering from congenital heart disorders, providing life-saving treatment and support to families in need.

    * Strengthening Maternal Health - Maternal Deliveries and Newborn Care: Free services for pregnant women from CVCM families, including safe institutional deliveries and essential medical care through the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Mother & Child Hospital (Mamatva) over a nine-month program.

    * Cancer Treatment for Children: Supports cancer and hemophilia treatment for children from economically weaker sections, making healthcare more accessible and affordable for these families.

    * Sadhanapada - A seven-month free residential program focused on inner transformation, promoting physical health, mental stability, balance, and clarity for a more vibrant and fulfilling life.

    * Action for Rural Rejuvenation - Delivers primary healthcare through Mobile Health Clinics (MHC) and Isha Rural Health Clinics (IRHC) in the tribal and rural communities of Thondamuthur Block (Coimbatore district) and Panamarathupatti Taluk (Salem district).

    * Yoga for All - Provides free yoga training to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being for individuals across various communities.

    * CHOLA – Arogyasarthy - Addresses lifestyle-related health challenges such as diabetes, hypertension, anemia, and gastric ailments among truck drivers, offering free primary healthcare services for their overall well-being.

    * Hospital Clowning & Creative Therapy Workshops - Organizes creative therapy sessions, including laughter therapy, for children undergoing chemotherapy and terminally ill patients at Children’s Government Hospital, Egmore. These workshops also support caregivers, medical staff, and families in enhancing mental well-being and reducing the need for pain medication.

    * SAMHITA - Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Children with Developmental Delays - Provides multispecialty care and rehabilitation for children with developmental delays from low- and middle-income families, focusing on comprehensive, patient-centered treatment.

    * Promoting Quality Healthcare and Education for Marginalized Sections - Supports healthcare services for the elderly, sick, and underprivileged through hospitals, nursing homes, and maternity centers. Offers financial aid, grants, and other forms of support to destitute individuals, orphans, widows, and children in need of educational assistance.

    * Healthcare Services for Rural Communities and Hydrogeological Studies - Provides essential healthcare to underserved populations in the Cuddalore district. Additionally, it conducts hydrogeological studies to map water bodies in and around Oonaiyur, addressing water-related challenges in rural areas.

    Description

    * Swachha Odisha Gram Vikas - Odisha, one of the country's poorest states, faces significant challenges in living standards due to low per capita income. This project focuses on enhancing access to clean water, safe sanitation, and promoting healthy sanitary practices through the use of toilets. Key initiatives include ensuring access to water for every household in the village and constructing overhead water tanks for water storage and supply to individual toilets, fostering a healthier and more hygienic living environment.

    * Swachha Telangana Project - Phase VI - This initiative aims to provide purified drinking water to remote villages through the installation of Ultra Filtration (UF) plants, offering 'Any Time Water' (ATW) solutions to ensure consistent access to safe and clean drinking water for underserved communities.

    Description

    * Arts in Education - This program creates a joyful and engaging learning environment for primary school children, strengthening their foundational skills and enhancing classroom participation. It fosters creativity, imagination, and provides a safe space for children to develop these essential abilities.

    * My Dream Scholarship Program - A comprehensive poverty alleviation initiative focused on supporting children from the Commercial Vehicle Crew Members (CVCM) community. The program provides scholarships for college education, technical training, and higher studies, empowering underprivileged children with opportunities for a brighter future.

    * AKKAM - STEM Education & Labs in Government Schools - This project establishes STEM facilities in five government schools in Chennai, aiming to enhance students' aptitude, academic performance, and self-confidence. It also promotes higher enrollment by providing improved educational resources.

    * CNC Tutor Machine for Technical Training Centre - In collaboration with WORTH Trust, an NGO for differently-abled students (speech & hearing impaired and physically challenged), Chola has introduced a CNC Tutor Machine at the Technical Training Centre. This initiative equips students with advanced CNC machining skills, improving their employability and career prospects.

    * Mini-Library for Anganwadis - Chola supports inclusive early childhood education by equipping 50 anganwadis with mini-library resource kits. These kits include 20 multi-sensory educational and play items along with storage cabinets. The initiative ensures the inclusion of children with disabilities (CWDs) and enhances pre-school education quality, supported by a six-month teacher training program.

    * Financial Literacy Plus Allied Services - A program designed to educate Commercial Vehicle Crew Members (CVCMs) and their families, especially women, on financial planning, government schemes, banking, digital transactions, safety, insurance, investments, and saving practices. It aims to enhance financial awareness and self-reliance within these communities.

    * Classrooms at Government Girls Higher Secondary School - Chola has contributed to constructing additional classrooms at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Mogappair, Chennai. This expansion facilitates higher education for girls from economically weaker sections, increasing enrollment and providing better educational opportunities in the region.

The project also facilitates exhibitions, events, cultural tourism, a crafts shop, crafts bazaars, and financial and administrative training.

    * Mangala Isai Vizha - Mangala Isai Vizha is a unique music initiative celebrating the Mangala vadyams of South India, particularly the Nadaswaram and Thavil. This platform highlights the exceptional talent of young musicians mastering these majestic instruments, preserving and promoting this rich musical heritage.
